I've always liked the idea of staging a production of the musical where the actors for Jesus & Judas would swap places for different nights of the run. This just cements that something like that would, frankly, be awesome.

God bless you Mr. Neely for sharing this with those of us who otherwise would likely never have been blessed to experience Mr. Anderson's extraordinary performance. May he rest peacfully in Heaven, in our Father's loving arms for all eternity.🙏

JCS is still gaining brand new fans (me included) 50+ years later. The fact that so many of the OG cast members are still active in its legacy is wonderful. Carl and Ted worked so beautifully together, and knowing they were true friends as well made this reaction a joy to watch.

Wow... no words. Ok, some words. Mr. Anderson really made the song his own, and gave us a stunning and powerful rendition of this song. What I feel most people miss in this song is the absolutely RAW emotion it requires, but Mr. Anderson did not fail in that regard. Which, you know, of course he didn't. He, in my opinion, was the epitome of a performer. This just shows that he could have easily played any character in JCS and been one of the best to do it. This version of the song is now up in my top 5, along with Mr. Neely's rendition. ❤ Much love

**** in the late 1960s I was blessed to see Carl Anderson many times perform all the songs from JCS with his band Second Eagle at The Keg in Georgetown, in Washington DC. I did not realize then how good he was. RIP.

Last week I was in Cancun with my friend, and we went to the resort's "Disco night"--not the kind of thing I do. But to please her we went. One of the "go-go" dancers was a gorgeous black guy and my friend said, Doesn't he look like Judas from Jesus Christ Superstar? I said, You mean Carl Anderson, yes! He does! She said, I know every word to the musical, and I said So do I! So the next night we sat on the pier, and played the movie on KZread and sang our hearts out under the stars!! Then she confessed, I have no idea what the movie is about. She was raised an atheist. I got to do a Bible 101 and Christianity 102 all night long. It was educational, fun and outstanding! I didn't convert her but boy we had fun singing like we were on Broadway. Then I told her, I have tickets for a Ted Neeley Meet and Greet in New Brunswick, NJ December 6. You can't make this up! (Tomorrow night I get to meet Ted, and Yvonne and Caiphas and Annis!

My feeling that in this wonderful film everybody had exactly the right role! I LOVE Carl as Judas and LOVE Ted as JC. This performance is wonderful of course and made me cry also, but somehow Ted is JC, Carl is Judas! And Kurt definitely is Annas!!!! :)))) Kurt gestures in this, and also in the interview like Annas! :DDD I LOVE THIS ROCK OPERA!!!! Thanks for sharing!!!!
