Cargo Van Ownership: 5 Reasons Why I Made The Right Decision

Cargo van ownership: Five reasons why I made the right decision purchasing my Ford Transit 250. Cargo van business. The reasons the Gig Geezer gave were greater earnings capacity, versatility, return on investment, a position to scale his transport business, and having avoided contractual pitfalls.

    What im noticing is that people who are against sprinter vans and cargo vans is wild. Look at how many fortune 500 companies are invested in vans. I understand you can use your own pick up truck, car and SUV. However, when gerting in the logistics industry, you want industrial vehicles that these companies know and trust. You want to be uniform with what companies use. I find it baffling that people argue you shouldn't buy a van for 25-35k . When the same person has a 50k car truck or suv they are financing that is much more limited to earning potential, contractual potential, and scaling potential. Tbh gig geezer is living proof with in a year hes grossing 8k per month off of apps ....

  • @ToddRogers00

    @ToddRogers00

    Youre using his best months saying hes making 8k/month. Lets say he make 7k/month. That 7k is before expenses and taxes which realistically leaves that 7k a lil over 3k. Not horrible, but is it worth it?

  • @36oz94

    @@ToddRogers00 yes first if you look at taxes and expenses . Geezer has a 1 million policy which I don't think he needs but he uses it that's around 1500 per month it's self . I would get basic coverage from 200-400 per month. That saves 1000 bucks it's self. Taxes can be reduced and deductible if you keep account of your expenses such as fuel and or anything you purchase with your business account for your business. Next he's doing 2k per week off of gig apps without any contracts and without any over the road opportunities which is amazing only working 50 hours in his market. I think it's definitely worth the investment. I personally would use what he's paying on his insurance and invest that into a cheaper cargo van, however he is his own man and I love the transparency he provides . He can easily scale with his earnings into a box truck or sprinter van within a year into his investment. That's phenomenal.

    Don't look at a contract as a negative like an employee. Just like the apps, cherry pick one that works for you when they are presented. You are a company just like AT&T. They had an exclusive contract for years selling Apple I-phones. They weren't an employee. Just cherry pick, cherry pick. Drive safe.😎😎

    I've been on record as saying I'm not against contracts. In fact, I've said we all have contracts whether working apps or having direct relationships with a business. I've yet to find a contract situation that would be akin to money I'm currently earning on average each day.

    Hello Sir! Thanks for sharing another great video full of facts. There are a lot of trolls and scared people out here on the internet who aren't going to buy into upgrading. You can only fit but so much in a gas saving car. Therefore, nowhere near the money that you make will be made. Plus, that car won't get to work from a major load board, making major money to be able to afford those expenses and still make a profit.

    You have definitely made this work with the cargo van! The hustle! If I can add my tid bit about why I wont have any contracts, and just like you im not hating on them BUT, I have a 24ft box truck and I started having issues one day when my truck started sputtering and the check engine light came on. I was able to limp my truck home so I could work on it but It ended up being down for 6 days (had to wait for exhaust filters to get cleaned and for parts to come in). Glad I didnt have a contract because im sure I would of had alot of gray hairs between trying to get the truck going and figuring out how to fulfill my end of the contract (rental box trucks can cost alot). I was able to use a car that I got specifically for gig work so I could do DoorDash and Amazon Flex in the time my truck was down, of course I didnt make as much but I would take this scenario over trying to stress about how to fulfill my end of a contract in which I probably clearly would have lost money (either trying to get a rental or being penalized for missing days). Even though there was a loss, I feel like I won. Just like you, we just have to do what works best for us.

    forgive me geezer for venting on you site, I'll make it quick. Went on my 2nd Veho route. Both times I had issues with there app. The last straw was when I dropped a package of at the front counter of a high end complex. I checked the box for dropping it of at the front deck and took a picture of the package at the from deck. Also took a picture of the building address. Vehos app kept wanting me to take a picture of the apt. door with the apt number. The front desk wouldn't allow me to go up the elevator. Veho's app wouldn't show me the next delivery on the route. So tomorrow I'll complete the route by mapping it myself, not wanting to hurt the customer. I've emailed Vehos Robot and told them not to pay me for the route. Also told them the I'm deleting the Veho app. I started early at 1pm and stopped at 9pm with 8 stop to go. the rout had many high rise condos. Had to deal with traffic, parking, elevator,busy managers etc.... All for 68.00 . Geezer again I apologize.

    The answer to that question is based on in part what type of vehicle you're operating, the state you reside, and whether your insurance carrier offers a rideshare endorsement or commercial coverage. Rule of thumb, rideshare coverage if you operate a personal vehicle (car, light truck, SUV, or family van). Commercial coverage if you operate a commercial vehicle (i.e., cargo/sprinter van/box truck).
