Riding Out an Epic Snowstorm Inside a Cozy Homemade Truck Camper
Ойын-сауық
Come along for one of the biggest snowstorms in Alaska this winter and I'll show you why I'm right at home in the truck house. We'll do some of the daily chores living in truck camper, and cook my favorite recipe on my wood stove, and enjoy waiting out a blizzard in the cabin on wheels. Truck camping doesn't have to be difficult or uncomfortable...

I wanted this kind of truck / van set-up even when I was a kid. I'm now 50 and still don't have it. I now live in a tent in a forest but I don't have the great set-up you do. I think i was inspired by watching shows like the Partridge Family and how they traveled in the big yellow school bus from town to town finding work. It just attracted me to this life even as a kid younger than 10. Later on in my 30,s I designed a van truck set-up to make into a mobile home but so far I haven't built it.looks great though. I hope you are comfortable and most of all warm. That truck looks cosy. Looks like a great little truck. And I noticed your registration plate , did it say why rent ( y rent ) nice work there man.

It does in a tent too. Properly weatherproofing. Camped in America and Canada for months as young woman. With a group but separate tents. All weather's. Monsoon rains, gales, snow storms but not dangerous unless trees fell. Took in turns for 2 of us to cook hot meal every night whatever weather for rest of group. Worked very well. Batch shopped and always had food in. Warm sleeping bags, soft air mattresses, well proofed tents. Guide insisted on it. We read by light of our storm lanterns. Very cosy. Bears a challenge though.

Even now 50 years later, I love to hear rain lash on windows ( in England alot of that) Snuggle under duvet with a warm drink handy and electric bedside light to read by. I feel so blessed to have a roof so pray for those who don't. Our Church has Street Pastors for such times and my son and i used to pack bags ,then son would go out with other young Christians and find those in need . Often he only slept when he knew others were safe and warm and fed. In his 20s and early 30s then. We are mightily blessed and God loves a cheerful giver. Or one who is sympathetic. Ferried people to hospital in storms with chest infections and some had pets. Ahhh. Couldn't believe I was packing doggie food for their pets once. All changed now. In 10 years a great difference.
I lived in a Lance truck camper for a year as I traveled from job assignments. I got to experience everything from Oregon rainforests to the Arizona desert. I absolutely loved it, the solitude and nature… Some of the best days of my life. I’m jealous👍
I often seek the solitude of the woods. I have a great life with my family but sometimes just need to hear water flow and wind blowing through trees. There is a soul cleansing feeling that sometimes sweeps over me. I appreciate your efforts producing this video

I’m happy to see someone else who has to use such small pieces of wood to fit in their woodstove
Wow nice set up ! Knowing there is a guy doing this in Alaska makes me feel good ! I sure hope you have lots of great adventures and stories and memories!
I live on Jeju Island, a small island in Korea. I happened to see your video. What an amazing person. Respect your life. Cool.🎉🎉🎉
That's so relaxing. God, it would be nice to walk away from the world for a week. And the snow just makes it 100× better
Wow, this truck house life video is truly an adventure in every sense of the word! Camping in a truck camper during a snowstorm in Alaska takes courage, resilience, and a love for the great outdoors. Your spirit of adventure is truly inspiring and your footage of the breathtaking Alaskan wilderness is simply mesmerizing. Keep living the dream and sharing your amazing experiences with us!

Being homeless is always an adventure.
One thing I personally would invest in would be a remote start... Would be nice to warm the truck up without having to get out and start it then wait till it warms up... They're probably $300-$500 installed or you could install it yourself! They work great on diesels. Great video and great setup, one of the best I've seen.

Old 7.3 diesels aren't really "built" for that convience. His does start well (way better than most). Have had a few and am building a 4x Quigley 7.3 cutaway now.
Give you lots of credit the way you live I'm just an old woman but my hats to you God bless you and wish you the best of everything that life can bring
Y RENT...Exactly!!Absolutely love this; The quaint tranquility of having your own little palace in the middle of nowhere. I'd personally would have a dog for company. Beyond that I LOVE IT❤❤❤

NO DOG'S, their smelly, you have to give them a bath every so often and where are you going to do that, the inside of your cabin will start smelling up the cabin like dog, you've got to save extra money 💰💰 for dog food, you have to take them for a walk and of course they have to use the bathroom, overall it's not worth it, something else to worry about.Their HIGH MAINTENANCE.

I was thinking the same, a dog would be great company.
Wow, this is amazing... you brought a house with you, you brought a private hotel with you, you brought the cabin with you, well done, everything is so perfect... that you are in the middle of a snowstorm, and you are wearing a short shirt. just a dream👏👏👏

That camper is so cool it's freezing outside yet your cozy and warm I love it u did a great job building it
I have learned alot from his videos. His ingenuity should be applauded.
Talk about being a happy camper. I’m so envious of you!
There is something straight about the independence here. That's part of what is so appealing. This looks like the freedom I dreamed of when I was a kid. We trade away all this as life goes by, but when I see this I realize how powerful a pull it still has. That is one amazing camper. I was even happy to confirm (the cookie desert) that the propane stove and oven actually worked, after all. But I absolutely fell in love with that little wood burner. It's so damned loyal it deserves a special place in the family. This was a great video. I watched it with warmth and fascination. (I was raised in the wilds of Northern Ontario, and winters like this were no stranger to me.) Happy Trails!

I am so jealous. I'm the kind of person that thinks Tom Hank's Castaway is a dream and not a punishment LOL. The idea of camping out in the woods far away from everybody but not even being in a tent but being in the back of a truck. As long as you have enough supplies to last you a while even if the snow goes a few feet you'll still be above it. I could spend forever in a scenario like that.
Wow. So peaceful. Thanks for sharing.
This looks like so awesome! Want to travel like this won day.

Hello 👋 dear how are you doing today 😍😍
Fresh vegetables, baked goods, TV shows, cozy warmth in the middle of an Alaskan blizzard. Truly we live in the best timeline.
Love your cabin, so homey, spacious, well laid out, functional. Excellent viddles.
For a 7.3 starting in that cold of weather with ease is very impressive lol
I have to say that is the most impressive and unique camper truck I have ever seen. I can't drive, I have never been to Alaska and have only ever been in snow deeper than 2 feet about twice in my life. Still here I am watching a man in a truck in the snow. 😁
