That cardboard plane is durable as well. It can crash land and with a few minor Tweeks it's back up flying again.
One thing I like about it is, after it crashes it doesn't cost you $160M to build another one

@@supreme5308 Lol, I've got that covered but the design I know of is $6k-$8k each priced at orders of 100 or more if it went into production (jet powered stealth UAV, much, much more advanced stealth system than the real F22 if you even considered it remotely radar evasive). Its bigger than this cardboard one, but not huge. Carries 2x 40mm payload (it would hold 6 with a design change but SOCOM only wanted 2x for some reason, I guess they thought the goals were lofty enough to be an impossible challenge but it clearly wasn't enough since my team did a perfect score including other requirements included) I like this one though, cheaper than pancaking a $2k jet engine if you slam it nose first into the ground, and no messy carbon fiber. Looks like a fun toy to put FPV on and go explore some mountains or to check on your cows in style, haha! I've also made a mock up similar of its profile in foambaord, so it looks wicked in a black and white joker pattern for just $2 per airframe material and only takes 15 minutes to build (this carboard one might take me 3 hours, I'm not very fast with foam or cardboard, the mock up version is just that simple to build), however it doesn't have bomb doors or any actual stealth characteristics but it still looks similar and cool on a wall (I haven't flown one but I assume it would fly like the real one just slower. I don't have good batteries for my EDF since it draws 65 amps on 6s batteries and all my old batteries about burst into flames running that 70mm EDF, haha! but it looks pretty). I might try to fly it for fun someday though, I think it would look nice with FPV (I'd love to use the real jet engine, but $80 in electronics is much more affordable to crash, and I'm more of an expert at crashing than at flying foamies, haha!)

Us: yes. Yes u are
Ok, so, first of all: Thank you for the video! It IS an awsome idea.I don´t know how many people commenting here have actually tried to build it themselves though...its not as easy and straightforward as this video makes it look. Particularily because its misssing a few parts/some things are obstructed. My Kid decided to make this as a school project with his friends and i helped them. We just came back after our first test run and disappointingly it didn´t even take off. Hopefully it was only the battery being too discharged, it doesn´t say how long the battery should last in the video, but we fully charged it overnight and afair we only did a few tests of the rotor before we took it outside, so I don´t see how it could have discharged that quickly. We´ll do another testrun tomorrow and we also still have another battery with a higher burst rate (75c). It was a bit bigger and heavier, so we tried to get a battery with the exact same specs (3s, 25c, 1000mah). I´ll report back after the next test, but meanwhile, here are some of the issues you might encounter when trying to build this: 1. Its actually not that easy to find the correct cardboard. Ours where either too light or too heavy or too small in size. You´ll spend some time looking for that. 2. The links for the listed items are mostly dead/don´t work in my country. We ended up getting most of the electronics from amazon though. 3. There are a few steps missing completely: 4. There are no instructions for how to exactly bend the wire, we had to do a few ones until we got the measurements right. 5. There are no instructions on where to get the holders on on the flaps for the wire. We kinda made one ourselves out of plastic. 7. There is a missing part about how to connect the battery on the topside with the ESC on the backside. We ended up simply cutting a hole in the cockpit area. 8. For someone who has never built something like that, a few more infos would have been nice about how the parts work together. For example: Since we couldn´t find the exact models for either the battery or the motor, we ended up with a bunch of unanswered questions and had to reorder several parts... -There are CW or CCW motors, which do you need to get? -You can put in the rotor one way or the other way, does that matter and which is correct? We had several tries with CW and CCW AND switching how we put in the rotor, but the push of air was always in the wrong direction. Finally we figured out that we simply had to switch the wires around, that connect the battery with the ESC, until the direction of the airflow was correct. -There are SO many different types of batteries and we had no clue about the "mAh" amount or the "burst rate", like I said, I feel like a burst rate of 25c is maybe not enough, but we´ll see tomorrow... Again, great idea and execution, but for those of you actually trying to buiild it yourself: Be aware of these missing infos!

Very impressive design, and even more impressive flying. Just like modern jet fighters these planes cannot glide as the wings don't provide any lift, and you must fly these RC planes fast, and in turn you have to have good reflex in order to control these planes. But on top of that the pilot was doing barrel rolls which are much harder than it seems. The plane is nothing but a dot in the sky when you're not viewing through a camera's zoom lens, and you gotta nail your rolls by finishing them with the plane pointing right side up or it'll be instant disaster. :) Much kudos.
