The card had a black back. Would it have been so hard to use carbon paper so the signatures matched? Slipping the duplicate card into the ashes would have been trivially easy then - and then the signatures would match. The difference in the smiley face was really jarring and sort of blew the immersion.

@@Acaykath Unfortunately a couple things that popped out at me was when she said stop, he went a little further to the card he wanted and it just stopped right on it. I'm pretty sure that card was a different length even if by millimeters. The smile request was another. Then after the reveal, I noticed the space between the smiley face and signature was gone. I snipped her card to compare it to the reveal card and they were completely different. I'm sure Penn and Teller caught all that as they have decades and decades over me. (I'm not a magician). The trick was good but he needs a little more practice with his forging signatures and slight of hand.

I have seen this guy perform live. He had people in tears he was so funny. One of the most entertaining Magicians I have seen.

First of all, Mark is really funny and i liked the trick. I'm not usually someone with a keen eye who can spot things, i watch this show mainly for the entertainment value and to feel like a kid again, so i don't analyze too much. However, it was very clear the signature isn't the same on both cards. They are quite different! I think he knew more or less how her signature looks like and he even asked her to place a smiley face on purpose.

It's not the same signature as the key word from Penn here is "Pressure" ;) Meaning that when she is signing the card there is a copy created right under the dentist card (he maybe even has two of each card with somw sort of black ink reacting to preasure, like old school copy paper but better). Also the reason why it's crumbled and hammer is used is that he forces it in the urn when he breaks it.

Of course this isn’t supposed to fool P&T. I just love the comedy. The bit about the business cards was especially hilarious.

"You were FORGED in his image", "you did not DUPE us". This trick was perfect for fool us, not because it had a chance of fooling them but because it wouldn't work with a random audience member. If you go back to 3:27 you'll see how Alyson sort of screwed the trick up for him with her somewhat contradictory statement then you'll see some sleight of hand afterwards... He also repeated a lot of words multiple times with sleight changes, not sure if that was meant as a hint or just how he normally talks tho.

One of the funniest acts on Fool Us ever! You're comedy is so smooth and natural that will crack up even tough audiences.

It is a nice trick that two things would make people very suspicious and give it away. The fact that asking her to stop at a card that way it is a give away that it was not a free choice. The second was asking to put a smiley face on, which also didn't give her a free choice. All the slight of hand was done well enough, with good misdirection. I didn't see them during the act. But I knew when it had to happen.

I spent 15 years telling my cats, George and Shaun: Boys, be good, and don’t eat your brother. (They we’re always licking each other’s ears and faces.) Shaun died, and his ashes are in an honored place in my home. When leaving I say, “George, be good. Don’t eat your brother, he’s powdery.”

Magic has to be funny for me. If it's not funny, gets boring. No matter how amazing it is. I had so much fun watching this!

It is quite common in the wizarding community to speculate and look for a method of performing a trick. Proof of this is Penn and Teller. A normal person also wants to verify his cognitive functions and seeks solutions, just like a person who solves crossword puzzles. Don't deny people this natural pastime. If you want art, go to the circus, variety show or watch the mainstream Got Talent.

My grandpa (who raised me from 7 months old after my mom passed)I called him dad. He was born in 1929 Aug. 2 he passed in 2013 3 months before I had my first child. This reminds me of him because he had weird humor. He had a glass eye which he got as a high schooler playing football and someone poked his eye and the doctors couldn’t save it. My whole life his glass eye was normal. I’d help clean it, he’d let me hold it and put it against my eye and pretend to be him, he would meet my friends and go to shake their hand and he’d hand them his eye and freak out them out, he would also take naps and lay his glass eye on his forehead and say I’m keeping my eye on you. He got sick with cancer and as it spread he hung on trying to make it to meet my first child, sadly he wasn’t able to but I had given him the peace of mind to move on when he was ready and let go, I told him I was going to be ok and knew he’d be watching over. After he passed I kept his eye and I carry it with me daily, so I can hold a piece of him close to my heart everyday. Thanks for this great trick and a great memory which I relive less and less over the past 9 years because after the loss of a loved one the memories start to fade and it’s so lovely to see/hear/smell something that takes an old memory hidden away and ignites it into a roaring fire blazing through to the forefront of your mind, vividly playing the memory, clear as day, as if it happened but a few moments ago. Those hidden memories we all hold locked away in our souls are hard and they hurt but are also beautiful and give us reason to go out and live every moment with our hearts open, because who knows if that moment in time will become someone else’s hidden memory of a living person who left this earth. ♥️♥️♥️ I hope my story helped you find the key you’ve hidden away to unlock that door ti memories too painful yet too happy to relive. Open it, sit down, take a deep breath, and play those memories. I promise the tears you’ll cry will turn to smiles and laughter. Those moments are worth displaying for your soul to see daily.

I don't claim to know how this trick is done, but I've seen any number of variations of it: a card is drawn, (or sometimes a dollar bill) marked so as to make it unique and identifiable, then disposed of only to re-appear some place where it's not supposed to be.

That was without a doubt the best entrance. I just wanna know more about the week in a straight jacket. I mean, he SAID it was to break a record. But has anyone confirmed there even was such a record? 🤪 I think he just wanted to wear it and see who his REAL friends are (butt wiper - I’m thinking could only be best friend…. Or mom). 😁 Just messing with ya. Great act

Less entrance practice, more sleight of hand practice.

We also found a card inside grandpa. He likes to swallow things whole. Hard to chew.

How much was the floor bill?

Now, see, since I coach kids in football, the part I most wanted to see slowed down was not the magic trick but the pratfall. Good job turning and rolling on the hips and shoulders going into it to land safely!

Maybe he forced her to write it on the top left but it's clear the smiley faces are not the same distance apart from the name. Honestly, this was a trick that was presented to P&T? Well some of the performers are invited to get recognition and have some business. He’s also good for the show in terms of rating. Don’t forget this is show business, He’s a great performer, he’ll bring rating, he’ll get paid and gains exposure, we get to watch. Win-win-win in my book..

Google Alyson Hannigans signature she does it a lot. He did prepare a forgery with a smiley face because if she did it he would be covered and if not he would ask her to do so.

The performance can be done with anyone. You don’t have to know anyone signature before hand. Which makes it a very good trick.

Real bummer to see an iconic bit from Rob Zabrecky in this act. I think you should clear that up with the community instead of deleting comments. It's already causing you to lose gigs and respect. And people are noticing you delete the comments.

I hope you know word’s got around at the Castle, The Underground, and beyond that you steal tricks from Rob Zabrecky.

As an overall performance, it was good, but the effect needs a bit of work. It just occurred to me that dupe = duplicate. I wondered why Penn used that word.

Because the black side of the card was copy paper. This automatically created a duplicate on the second card - Alyson unknowingly created the original and a copy....

The key was in the ashes. He already had ashes of his grandfather in the pocket and from there he was sneaking at Allison's signature. He didn't show all the cards, in particular the one that said he was also painter, in fact a very good one, that could copy signatures exactly. As he was already dead, nobody would pay attention. Everybody thought it was the same card, but you can see it was burnt in the border, as it was painted by someone who was burnt before 🔥.

1:10 it really is a quality entrance.

3:43 he folded the original card and kept in his hand. Watch closely... He never burnt the originally signed card

These teleportation acts have bugged me too too much. You magicians - at least David Blaine - teleport cards inside pockets of people. I have thrown my hands upward in disbelief so many times. You magicians have guarded the secret so well and out of 8 billion people no one has any clue how you do it.

Maybe my style of humor is different, but I honestly didn’t find him to be very funny at all. The intro- falling through the table seemed weird and out of place and the banter was kinda meh.. 🤷🏻‍♂️

ALL of my previous comment was 100% factual. Are the US by any stretch of ANY imagination NOT in the middle of a pandemic or not ? (One could ofcourse argue that it is ENdemic now that the US seems to be the only place on earth where people are stupid enough to not want to follow the health advice of the government agency, that is MADE to offer advice to the public on health issues) People are still questioning vaccine safety, regardless of the fact that vaccines has been administered SAFELY to BILLIONS of people worldwide.
