Looks like the classic cut-a-rope trick that I still don't understand. So they fooled at least me. 😆

With performances like that you’re well on your way to being as successful as Penn and Teller.

I had the biggest grin on my face from the second you started to thread the melon. This was one of my first two effects I learned from a library book about 60 years ago. I just came back from a trip to Korea where I taught one of my nephew's sons a few tricks. This was going to be one of them, but I decided to hold off on it until our next trip... now I just don't know about that unless I give some heavy thought around a great routine for him.

I recall reading this illusion in an old book, back when I was like eight or nine, so forty years ago, with a book that might have been another forty years old. There was also a variation in a Boy Scout book, passing a rope through the sleeves of a scout''s jacket.

Thinking back on it I'm sure it was in one of the Tarbell volumes. What a great learning tool that was. I was astonished that such great secrets were freely available in such a public place! ;)

love it when penn and teller say "we failed and you succeeded with that act!"

This is really fun, because this is the first trick I learned when I was 9. All I had was the local library and it had 4 books on how to do magic. I read them all and this trick still works many years later.

You two have excellent positive energy with each other. Keep it up guys. Keep those smiles coming :)

What we lack in skill, we make up for in jokes!

One of the oldest street magic tricks in the world! It's really daring and courageous to fool P&T with that stuff. But still a nice performance!

My mother showed me a version of this trick where you pass the string through your neck 50 years ago.

Pretty clear the success of this trick is to select a seedless watermelon.

No, it's normal sized. We're just all huge.

I like the presentation, but I didn't like the reference to having watch every episode and mention that nobody tried to fool them with science, not only because it has happened (Dyna Staats for example), but also because they were fooled by this very same concept already.

For once, I actually got Pen's code words. 😄 I even understand the principle itself, but not how execute it. Props to that move.
