Carboxylic Acids and Their Derivatives
If we take a carboxylic acid and replace the OH with other groups, we can get different carboxylic acid derivatives. There are lots of ways to form these, and they have a variety of different applications, so let's take a look at a few now!

Bro i literally JUST learned this in my summer lecture today. You come in clutch Professor Dave.
A very clear explanation professor 👌🏽
Hello, Professor. I have a report on functional derivatives of carboxylic acid. I would like a source or books that talk about them. Can you help me with that please?
Great explanations. Thanks for this review.
Prof. You are one of the most smartest as well as handsome man in this world. You are my idol. You are like a god to me. May god bless you ❤️
Why do the acidic acid forms in luminary position. The gradients per capita centrifigue is
a summary...very helpful
my test is tomorrow. if i pass this you'll officially be my hero
What's the answer to that practice problem of comparing acidity of those two carboxylic acids?

im 99% sure its the acid chloride because it is closer to the double bond. Would need @professordaveexplains to confirm.
I'm in medical school and done with the MCAT and Ochem. Why do I still watch these?

Because chemistry is important. Thus, you can solve an elementary question about if chlorine dioxide is toxic or not without a help of a chemist.

Do carboxylic acid do combustion reactions ?
@florencelafortune5664

Yes they do! They undergo combustion to from carbon up use and water. However, this happens only when more extreme conditions are used, because its lone carbon is already fully oxidized.
