Carboxylic Acids and Their Derivatives

If we take a carboxylic acid and replace the OH with other groups, we can get different carboxylic acid derivatives. There are lots of ways to form these, and they have a variety of different applications, so let's take a look at a few now!

    im 99% sure its the acid chloride because it is closer to the double bond. Would need @professordaveexplains to confirm.

    Yes they do! They undergo combustion to from carbon up use and water. However, this happens only when more extreme conditions are used, because its lone carbon is already fully oxidized.
