i like that he used guide coat. most people that i know just sand it and refill it 10x over and over and it still looks like crap. this 1 guy said he doesn't use guide coat when he's sanding primer because it "makes a mess" and misses about 50 percent of the orange peel in the primer.

Lol.. usually i do that kind of work in 2-3 hours.. The products and technology we have today make it alot faster... "our filler/sanding" is dry is 15 seconds without heat, but UV instead.. A job like that on the video CAN NOT take more than 1 day of work, if ur slow.

It took him all day and half the next. We r&r in the am straighten, take lunch, do the body work and prime before going home, sand it and send it to paint the next morning get it back in after lunch put it back together and in a perfect work return it to the customer in 3 days!

martin moreno lo mejor que hay para este tipo de trabajo es el light weight body filler porq te deja un terminado mejor y sin los llamados pinholes.. una tecnica secreta es ponerle un poco de resina de fibra de vidrio al bondo lo cual lo hace mejor pero el secado es más lento. Buena suerte

How doo you think the back looks like? 100:s of spotts burned off from the nail welder and all rust protection (zink layer) are gone. Remeber to spray on some rust protection.

I like the double putty knife thing. We use plastic spreaders here in America. Maybe this Dutch guy's on to something. I'm also surprised that he doesn't use an interface pad with the RO sander in the finer grits as we normally always do with 320 and above.

Wow must have been cold in the shop to have that much working time with the filler! Here in Maryland right now with the temp and humidity you can barely spread a 6in area before it starts setting up.

Looks good, but is it proper to paint in the same bay/booth as where you were sanding? Too much risk with dust particles. Also, don't you have to blend the paint in to the door as well?

Hi Metthew, you need to find the english putty knives. They are made ofe feather steel and the lemmet is to the end of the wood.

See the holes in the orbital sandpaper and the thick grey tubing attached to the orbital? That's because it vacuums the dust as it sands.

See the holes in the orbital sandpaper and the thick grey tubing attached to the orbital? That's because it vacuums the dust as it sands.
