My local dealership was charging $32,999 for a Camry XLE. I went online, cargurus, saw the exact same car for the invoice price of $29.800 a few miles up the freeway. They even offered to pay for my Uber to get it. My local dealer wasn't very happy that I did research and he couldn't rip me off so he basically had no choice but to lower the price $3,000. That's the best and easiest way to negotiate in my opinion.

Super great example of doing your research and getting leverage. Well done!!
This is the advice that almost everyone needs. People will research the heck out of something stupid and irrelevant they buy but an enormous purchase like a car people will go into a dealership and have absolutely no idea what they’re doing. He’s also spot on about holding onto your own money. I bought a very expensive sports car and put a relatively small amount of money down because I got a very good interest rate and I’m making more money in interest holding onto the capital then I would have if I pay for the car entirely in cash.
Excellent advice. The public needs to hear this!

I usually work directly with the sales mgr and once they understand I'm ordering and need it into holdback their either do it or they don't. Money factor is * 2400, residuals, interest and incentives are trash right now.

Good question! I have done that I have also done credit apps through the dealerships secure websites. Remember though they will run your credit and so I ONLY do this if I am buying that vehicle otherwise there is NEVER a need to run credit You can get a good sense of finance rates without ever running credit app

They can do the app for you if you want to give all your info over the phone but it's better to use their secure website. You just have to ask them to send you the link to it.

Leasing is the most expensive way to own a car. Not interested it this guy's advice.

FYI leasing is NOT a way to own the car, hence the lease. If you choose to buy out at lease end then your right, you may be paying a whole lot more

Leasing my 24 civic hatchback for $350 a month $500 down was a good decision at least for me. My buy out is $18k. I am the only owner of the car, so I know there wasn’t a tune on it that made everything half life. I know it was serviced. And I can walk away from it with a clean conscious if it’s a lemon. How is that stupid? I should buy a used car that’s probably a lemon and never serviced with 5 owners and 7 years old with 80k miles for $16k? Ok buddy

Plus so many people at my work bought used and 6 months later I see them working on their cars in the parking lot.
