USP, University of São Paulo, has their campus right next to the polluted Pinheiros river. And besides that it is quite the forested place, lots of grass and trees, a very green patch in an otherwise very gray city. There are loads of capybaras, capivaras in portuguese, they mostly stay behind some fences which are there to make sure they don’t wander into the road, but there are so many. There are no predators, and they just be chilling in front of overworked university students.

I find it funny that names of some animals that we sometimes give them are so literally like here "grass eater" which makes sense and then in my language we literally call them "water pigs" bc as said in the video reminded people of pigs bc of how they're built 😂
