Doesn’t matter if the FO was a complete idiot. This Captain is a complete disaster. Be calm, cool and collected. This hyper aggressive attitude is why airplanes crash because of a quick nervous reaction. I have 25 years of airline experience. I have taken control three times in my career. All you say very calmly is ‘I have the aircraft’. Fly the airplane first but maintain a calm tone even in the most extreme situations. Getting into panic won’t save the situation. Poor leadership and command abilities.

They are just as important as the Captain and above all that we are all humans and should be respectful to each other so we can always fly as safe as possible. Sometimes i fly with an F.O. with more logged flying hours them myself so i’m always open to their advice and they are always open for mine. This Captain messed up, i was of course not in the cockpit with them but some comments here are very right ……. Exactly. Planes can fly a few seconds w the extra drag. And he knows where the lever is.
I'd make damn sure the company knew to never have me fly with that guy again
Don’t yell at the poor baby. It might hurt his grown ass feelings.
Can you imagine this guy in Sully's shoes?
Anger in the cockpit, captain, ease off the coffee.
Imagine the same amount of learnings and lessons and courses after someone is screaming in the office. I would love to have the same amount of rules for doctors in hospitals. Imagine they have a first doctor who goes trough a checklist before starting or finishing a surgery. And they have a blackbox which recorded every breath they made. And whenever something went wrong a whole company goes through every step of the issue and create a industrial wide recommendation.
That captain about to miss his Uber 😂
Guy was having flashbacks of Macho Grande.

Over Macho Grande?
EWR TOWER: 880 roger, showing three greens on the tower.
Thank god this will never get back to the airline
I've only flown with one Jerk like this in my life....Unfortunately for me, he was an FAA examiner (DPE). He was hell to fly with......and then he passed me! 😄 It's funny NOW!
My DPE for my private pilot check ride sounded exactly like this guy 😂
If the FO is performing really bad, is it hard to say "I have the aircraft" while taking over the controls? If they crash because of the FO, the captain might also get faulted for not taking control when he had the chance.
Captain happy needs to switch to decaf
I can think of a couple well-known captains on KZread (Kelsey at 74, Pettr at Mentour, etc.) who would probably have steam visibly pouring out their ears upon hearing this.
Fury Brad Pitt: "SHUT YOUR MIC OFF IF YOU'RE GOING TO BAWL LIKE THAT!"
The captain has to be brought to a psychologist immediately.
The behavior of that Captain was completely uncalled for.
Yelling never helps in a cockpit.
Well, an excited "GEAR UP!" is probably better than, "GEAR DOWN!! GEAR DOWN!!"
When I was going for my IFR rating, my instructor raised his voice at me once, I never flew with him again. I asked for a different instructor.
What happened to CRM?!🤔😬
Oh, and "bring the power back" is an ambiguous term during a go-around. I generally interpret that as a command to decrease throttle. That doesn't seem appropriate if we are still transitioning from gear down to gear up.
Imagine how that captain handles 'actual' stressfull situations. Think I'd rather have a crack at flying myself
That’s the sound of fear as it must have been pretty bad. Standard MIA ops.
It’s a Rage Against The Machine tribute track. “GEAR UP!” “BRING THE POWER BACK!”
In the past most of these DEI new hires would not have been given an interview in the first place. Hopefully, they won’t nearly crash one in like what happened at United recently.
He's the type that is GLAD that a legacy didn't hire him.
I’m not going to pile on because I wasn’t in the flight deck and we don’t know what exactly was happening. I’ve flown with low and mid experienced FO’s and previously student pilots who have completely frozen up when something unexpected happened, and it took a voice several octaves above normal to get a reaction from them, but that usually followed saying the same thing at least twice ( ok now pull up a little…. pull up now…. PULL UP) Having said that, if they are non responsive or clearly not doing what they should be, the next response should be “MY CONTROLS” and take over. If a single loud command doesn’t fix the hesitation then allowing them to continue flying while shouting/barking/screaming commands isn’t going to fix the situation. Get the aircraft back to a safe position, take the temperature down a few notches, and have the discussion after landing about what happened.

Captains should be able to fly single pilot. be able to recover from a bad situation... But not allow the situation to get to unrecoverable of course. Depending on the situation... If below 1k agl.. Maybe max 2 corrections and then my controls. Again no need to yell.
Reminds me of my PPL training with an ATPL examiner of a german Airline...
Welcome to his personal No Fly list, Cpt Sh!tbird.
For those who are curious to know his name, we might get to hear it from future air crash investigations episodes or NTSB reports.
Terrible Captain. Unacceptable , I hope the company send him back to CRM training 😂
sounds like my dad teaching me how to drive!
Hopefully, he was just having an exceptionally rare “bad day” and this is not how he usually behaves. Good job to the F.O., who maintained his professionalism on the radio even after just being yelled at.
We were NOT in the cockpit! Maybe the the captain saved lives by screaming watch your speed! This should never happen. Speed is life !!!! We don’t know what fatal mistakes the 1 officer has already done ….. I better fly with a Captain who knows what to do, instead of a captain that that doesn’t recognize major things
