Cape Cod Canal Striper Fishing: NEW Best Day Ever - Part I!
The NEW Best Day Ever - Part I of III.
July 2023 was off the charts - striped bass fishing at the Cape Cod Canal was unmatched! On this particular day we had just about everything... A jig bite, top water and swimmers as you'll see during parts II & III over the weeks to come.
This day I was fishing with my buddies Kurt (@katchingwithkurt), Rob, Jay, Chet (@ChetZingg), & Aurelio (@lefteyelures7513). We also met and fished with Jonny & Byron - two great guys as you'll see. The fish were constantly present and they were feeding heavy!
Rod: ODM Jigster, 11', 4-10oz
Reel: Shimano Saragosa 14K
Line: Pro Power braid 65lb
Leader: Seagar floro 60lb
Lures:
- OutCast Hybrid Popper, 4.5oz, white
- FishLab, Soft Mac Attach, 5.5oz, green mac

What a day good times.. I probably won’t be back this year because we’re hooking monsters here in NY already but I promise I’ll be back. Again thank you for lending a hand to a fellow fisherman Matt you and the whole crew are awesome.

I completely appreciate that. My Spring back bay fishing offers a crowd-free experience that I do miss some days when it’s shoulder to shoulder at the ditch… 🎣🐟

My preference is early morning through first light. In terms of calendar time, right now for the fall run is epic! 🎣🐟
