Honestly the underlying problem seems to be canvases that think they’re coming to get a tattoo like this is a regular tattoo shop. No this is a high intensity tattooing competition with challenges that demand a tattoo to match your non challenge related ideas are obsolete, sorry guys but get better compliment canvases

she was definitely a case. and was definitely putting on a show. but that tattoo was in no way "absolutely amazing" lol. the water he added (yes she didn't want it in the first place which is stupid lol) looked weird and altogether, it looked like a collage rather than a fluid tattoo.

I will never understand why that first girl didnt just,, bring a photo of her bike?? If you wanted it to be that specific and exactly the same why wouldnt you bring a photo so she could emulate it as accurately as possible??

That's a really good point. For each of my tattoos I've always made sure I gave the artist the exact photo of what I want. If you want specifics then you make sure you get it.

Still love the design and it’s this kind of messy arty tat, but I was terrified she did it without asking!!!!!🙅🏼‍♀️

I agree with the first artist Ashley. Her canvas was ok with the drawing! She was given the drawing and saw it drawn on her body and told her to put ink to it! Pay attention!!!

There's nothing crazy about getting mad because your tattoo artist added stuff that wasn't in the drawing - without specifying exactly what they're adding.

But to be fair a few times the artist tries their best and the canvas leaves and the judges see that and send them a new canvas. And every single time I've seen them get a new canvas the new canvas is like "tattoo anything anywhere let's do this shit." So the judges are fair normally. And I think it's just, how do you handle different challenges? Sometimes you just get dealt a shit hand in the tattoo studio and have to try your best. I think the judges really do take pity and put that into their consideration when voting.

It was clear as day that Kito and Nick were working with crazy people and we're so down by the end of it, yet they held them super accountable.

I under the lady who was angry he changed the design though. She meant do whatever with the design AS he was drawing it. Not do whatever as he was tattooing it. She agreed on the finished drawing bc she liked it. When he secretly added extra elements she couldn’t see he added, ofc she has the right to be upset the design she liked and agreed upon. Was then changed. Had that happen to me too. I liked the drawing an artist had done for their flash and had it saved for months before getting it. Then when she put the stencil on it was perfect, but as she tattooed and after I saw it- I realised she changed elements of the tattoo without telling me. And those little things she changed where actually my favourite part of the design I liked and why I was drawn to it in the first place and she completely took away those little things without me knowing (it was on my calf)

To be fair, she took an attitude right from the start that she didn’t know what she was doing and didn’t seem to want to make an effort to learn. I definitely agree that the canvas should have had a more solid reference if she wanted her specific bike, but I think the artist’s attitude contributed to what happened.

Removing the artist's right to deny a client is the greatest challenge imaginable.

They did, but dealing with the clients is part of the job. You probably don't want to be the tattoo artist that will turn you away if you're not happy with his design. The clients aren't canvasses for you to play with, they are living humans that will live with your tattoo forever.

Like I got the impression that some of these would've went a lot easier if the clients felt like the artist was on their side and listened, instead of seeming annoyed at their questions/input. That will only make them more antsy. Again, agree you turn away abusive pricks, but you see someone is worried or "difficult" you handle things.

I love how for the absolute crazy canvases, the other artists are like “well that’s the artist’s fault lol trash,” but when it’s a canvas that somewhat has a point (the lady that was mad about the artist adding spikes), they’re like “yikes that canvas is nuts can’t please everyone I guess”

To be honest I’d be a little annoyed too if a tattoo artist changed something about the design without letting me know lol

kito’s koi was real pretty, would’ve definitely had that tattooed on me. his client however was entitled, stuck up, and picky as shit. the many times she’s had to replace the stencil because of little placement. sucks the judges couldn’t even see through to him and hope kito is doing well. edit: i cant get over his client. if she had enough money for tattoos in the past, she can definitely afford a laser removal.

Having no idea isn't a bad thing but you can't be picky. If I went on here I'd 100% let the artist have free reign because if it's a style they aren't strong on then putting restrictions will more likely make a bad tattoo because they're trying to meet the challenge plus the canvas's wants and sometimes that just burries them. If it was a style they were super strong on like cleen rock one with hot rods and choppers then I'd make requests because it's something he can rock day in and day out but a style he isn't very good at to begin with I'd just be 'do whatever you want as long as by the end of the challenge it looks good'

Quite a few of the 'human canvases' have said that the time limit was meaningless and that some artists finished with hours to spare while others went well over. Dave coming out to do the time remaining thing apparrentpy all happens at once and is edited to look like it' at different times. As far as unfinished pieces go, I don't know why they don't finish but it's apparently not due to time constraints.

There should definitely be a screening process, that includes a drug test, mental health history, and criminal records. And if not that, the tattoo artists should be presented with like three people that they can choose from. The canvas completely destroyed his chances of being ink master. His tattoo was amazing. And then the judges had the audacity to tell him that he should have been able to work with her. You try then, because personally, I would have been fuming by the third time she said I could do what I wanted, and changed her mind again. You're getting a free tattoo. I'm in a competition. Just be happy about it, and give me a break. Hard enough as it is with all the pressure. The canvasses can really make or break them

Crazy thing is they did a redemption episode with her and Nick, and she acted the same way. Then when she had to pick blindly against Nick’s piece where he did everything she wanted versus Steve who only did a face she picked Steve’s then said I knew it was his because of this tiny skull. So Nick didn’t tattoo her (he ended up tattooing Dave) and Steve was even saying this lady is nuts.

Kito's canvas wasn't just weird, she was a straight up grifter. She wanted screen time.

It is the artists job to make their indecision into a masterpiece. You can see the stopping point of this artists style the second he is unable to bring out a good tattoo regardless of a picky person. He should of just listened to her opinion and instead of doing things his way. He should of created her way and had the skill needed to design something she would of liked more. He forced the water onto her. He could of just listened and came up with designs with flowers that merged, but did not.

But they also have to be reasonable. If the canvas okays the sketch, then they should be fine with the end result as long as the artist doesn't botch it. Koi Fish girl okayed the sketch after being so picky and then started getting up and complaining mid-tattoo. He didn't mess up that tattoo, he ran out of time on a rubbish sketch that the canvas basically made.

This is a great show, but everytime I watch it, I can't help but feel loss for the people who were cheated out of the chance to win by clients who clearly haven't been interviewed or screened to see if they're of sound mind and able to sit through the grueling process. So many of the canvases are wildly indecisive or problematic just in the consultation, and It's a huge flaw in the show that some participants have all cool canvases, and others are sabotaged before they can make any progress.

@@alexadorbs2744 ironically, the "drama" aspect is what keeps me from watching the show as a whole. I like shows like Face-Off where the competitive aspect is kept the same but the drama is specifically focused on the ups and downs of creating the makeups and not from any forced bullshit like competitors being nasty to eachother or the canvases being assholes. If I wanted to watch jerks be jerks I would just go outside lmao

Keto's tattoo wasn't that bad and the canvas was kinda rude :/

Yea I mean it was ridiculous because with all the complaining she’s ruining her time for the tattoo to even be finished “What about the other flower?” YOU KEPT INTERRUPTING THE SESSION TO EVEN FINISH OR FOCUS

Ehhhh.... the tattoo was pretty jacked, perhaps only on the composition and color choices. I mean the canvas did approve it so it is her fault but in no way was it good.

In a regular shop this is a fine tattoo. It’s just that this is a competition and they’re harder on them.

Dallas Texas well they weren’t amazing but I could live with them I’m sure. Well, not me I only get evil horror and occult tattoos but still it wasn’t completely terrible. I see so many bad tattoos and it’s still fairly average quality you find in the average tattoo shop. I’m getting work done by Steve Teft soon. Just blank canvas as long as it’s his evil style he can do anything. I’m sure I’ll be thrilled to have one of his pieces and won’t be disappointed. I like the artists vision on my body not mine. Though with my regular artist I give more direction on what I want. I’m a professional sculptor but don’t want my work on me that’s for sure lol

I see lots of people here complaining about Kito's canvas but dude fucked up. She didn't want water and he pushed her to accept it, and then drew it really really bad. The colors were awful, the composition sucked... He did an awful job overall. Yes she was a pain in the ass, but he made the whole thing even more complicated for both.

I just don’t understand how someone can see the drawing, approve it, get the tattoo that looks exactly like the drawing they approved, then get mad at the artist?!

Because they’re trying to speak up and getting convinced to do something they don’t want. Plus shading & color makes all the difference as well. By the end of it you feel bullied into something you’re supposed to be satisfied and grateful for and you’re not.

@@bleepbloopskrrr What are you on about she was very picky and specific then comes to the final design and she couldnt even review it properly before approving then finding problems in a design she approved of... there was no bullying or forcing or "supposed to be satisfied and grateful" she literally fucked up by not properly analysing the tattoo that was drawn and then starts getting upset. If I show you a triangle that I'm going to draw you give me the go ahead then I draw a triangle and you complain its not a square you only have yourself to blame

These women are straight up mental. I feel bad for these artist.

"You're not paying for my removal!" Yeah, and you're not paying for this tattoo.

Nick had the kind of canvas that would get kicked out of any ordinary shop for acting that way

@@mytoiletisrunning I mean, you can't say "you're the artist. Do what you think looks good," and then act shocked when they actually... You know, do the art. It's not even the fact that the client was indecisive, but the simple thing of telling a TATTOO artist to do what they please, knowing the implications (forever), and expecting whatever you were thinking in your head.

I think she was "expecting" the *design* she *approved of*? crazy I know. idk why y'all think "do whatever" is like the ultimate form of consent and that communication ends right then and there. tattoo artists communicate changes to designs, ESP during the tattoo. how incapable is this artist from saying "hey i'm changing/adding this fyi."? i assume it has to do with her flip flop attitude, so he stopped asking questions to avoid extending the frustrating interaction any further. but on that note, if you're not comfortable telling someone about fundamental design changes, then you shouldn't be comfortable changing them. 🤷 and regardless, the judges agreed that the design change was pointless/bad in addition to the clients dissatisfaction. poor decisions are still poor decisions, even when they happen to people you don't like.

@@dazem8 I’m diagnosed BPD, I have tattoos and when I go I KNOW what I want.. maybe impulsively know what I want but still know what I want she’s on something or having a drug induced Psychosis or a bipolar mania induced Psychosis

i wonder if Kito's canvas gives the doctors a hard time too "the needle is not in the right vein" lol
