Hi - A good value macro is the 60mm f/2.8 from Canon. I added a link under the video. CLick more and scroll all the way to the bottom of the text. If you want to get closer you can consider the Tamron 90mm. Happy to answer more questions.

The AF/MF is the Auto Focus / Manual focus switch - in AF the camera will focus when you half-press the shutter. Manual focus - you must manually turn the ring on the lens to focus.

THANK YOU SOOO MUCH!!! I have been scouring the Internet for a comprehensive video to walk me through all the buttons on my T5i. Even though this particular tut was for the T4i, the features are similair enough to help me understand all those buttons. I am soooo grateful for this information and have subscribed to your channel. I don't know much about shooting still photography. I am a videographer and just bought the Rebel T5i for shooting video. Do you have any tutorials that are specific to shooting video? I order from Amazon almost every week so will make sure you get credit. Thanks again and keep the tuts coming!!!

It is. My guess is that it is just so small the noise leaks out. The 18-135 is so much larger, more room to absorb the noise.

Sorry to hear you are having these troubles. Let's cover the basics first. Is the Autofocus turned on? Put the camera in A mode and take a picture of something. Did the flash pop up? now zoom all the way to 55 and take a picture? Did the flash pop up again? is it blurry? You may want to come over to my facebook page so we can have a longer conversation, it is linked under my video above. Thanks!

I just snapped them for fun, but they say I really know how to capture a moment! See I get fantastic shot, but the quality is so disappointing, and ruins the moment that I have captured! :( I want to go to school for photography, but I have to wait until my husband graduates first! You are really helpful to someone who doesn't understand all the lingo!!!! I will keep watching your videos!! Again, THANK YOU! xoxoxoxo

Hi Paul. You want to press the little button on the top right corner of the camera - it has a white box with dots inside or a - magnify glass. Press it while looking through the viewfinder and rotate the dial behind the shutter - you should see the little red dot move, keep rotating and it will eventually light up all boxes at once. that is the default. My preference is center point 90% of the time.

I do recommend it as a buy - Still don't recommend using it to autofocus during liveview but it is a tiny lens that offers good quality, decent close focus and a nice maximum aperture.

Great Video. For someone like me going from a camera a paid a $100 dollars for at Sears back in 2007 to a T4I is very overwhelming. I know little to nothing about all the little small details of the camera and I have resorted to using my cell phone camera on multible occasions do to the shere frustration of trying to figure this camera out. This video was very good and helped kinda explain all the different settings on the camera, Thanks again.

Hi - Tell me more about the type of video - the reason I ask - the STM lenses are good for informal events, family etc but if u are doing more serious work you still want to manual focus and in those cases it doesn't matter if you have an STM lens and something like 50 f/1.4 will give u better results. The sony is better at auto focus during video, the t4i is better than the D5200 so it comes down to what are your priorities. Happy to chat more - find me on FB where there aren't comment limits

There are other cheap options that do provide some decent quality but you have to work at it. the 18-135 STM is a better lens, more range, silent autofocus during video. The 18-55 isn't bad just not as good as the 18-135. I don't know where you got your camera so I can't really advise on how you should exchange it.
