The BEST Video tutorial in terms of how easy it is to understand the basics needed to do good photography.
I have to let you know that I’m a film student and have been trying to understand these three settings for over a year now, and it wasn’t until this video that I felt like I understood the settings and how to use them. Thank you *so, so* much. This video made it simple and you actually _showed_ me what to do and how it all works, vs. only telling me. This is hands down the best tutorial on shutter speed, aperture, and ISO. You’re the best! I’m super excited now, since I feel like I understand this 😄

Shit.. over a year 😸. I just got mine and im hella confused 😹. I took random shots and they looked decent making me feellike I was a pro, but I thought Im just pulling crap outta my ass right now, and better watch videos to understand things better and correctly set the settings before I screw something up 😹
I'm just now taking the plunge into manual mode after using auto for many, many years. I really appreciate your explanation and plan to revisit often to watch this until your training sinks into this thick skull of mine. I've subscribed, so hope to get lots of training. Thank you bunches!
i learned more in this video than i did in the whole semester of my high school photography class lol

It has been 35 years since I've held a camera- the transition from film to digital is a challenge - thank you for helping me to understand the layout of my first DSLR and how it relates to the old SLR technology.
This tutorial taught me so much in a short 15 minutes. I'm always so confused as to what is happening with the shutter speed and how to fix it. Thank you so much for this video! A+
Finally someone who goes straight to the point, thanks a ton.

This teaching method has been the most effective for me. Having the camera on screen rather than the host and seeing how to interact with the settings on the display while showing the buttons pressed, is extremely informative.

Man, your video is the best. I watched lots of crap before this, and I am relived to watch youre video. Subbed. Thank you.
This video makes the light bulb go on a couple minutes in. LOL. Volume is a little low but the content is gold. Finally, I get it and understand it and can apply it. Very well done my man.
This tutorial was amazing on explaining the difference between the Aperture, shutter speed and ISO. The use of real time movements between settings and photo changing images was informative and on point. thank you I really needed this video.
Wow, this video has been a tremendous learning experience. The information packed (great) script combined with spot-on visuals made this a pretty painless intro to a camera and techniques. Thanks.
Honestly speaking, out of over 30 videos I’ve watched about shooting in manual mode, this video explained everything I wanted and needed to know by just watching it once! Thanks for this!
This video was so helpful! I was a bit confused on what settings to use, and how to adjust them to your liking. This video cleared up the majority of that confusion. Now, time to go practice. Thanks so much for this!
DK - so sorry I missed this excellent question. I honestly do shoot on Manual most of the time. It is comfortable for me in all but the most challenging situations (bright sun in one direction and shade in another) . I suggest you try AV mode. That lets you control your aperture which is what most people care about most of the time and the camera changes the shutter speed. That is my fall back mode.
The golden hour - just after sunrise and just before and then directly after sunset. Lovely soft light from all directions right after sunset (unless it is cloudy)

Best tutorial I've seen on any subject. I miss being taught hands-on. This is as close as we can get, and you did a great job, thanks.
His voice is very calm and perfectly toned to listen carefully and understand what's being taught. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us!
Wish all vloggers could explain things very simple and accurately as you just did.. am more satisfied. thumbs up
I've never had 'exposure' explained in such an understandable & accurate way by anyone as well as you have in this vid. Thanku so much. It's Aug 2018 & I'm so glad I came across this vid.

The best part of these explanations is the examples of What happens when the values are larger vs smaller. Great video!
You are by far the best when it comes to breaking it down and explaining how things work, thank you!
Thank you so much! This is an incredible video, I've just purchased myself a dslr, but didnt really understand it all, but now i do!! just gotta get it stuck in my head! :) thanks!

Just wanted to say thanks for such an in depth video. I'm only JUST learning how to operate my camera and your the first person I've come across that actually took the time to demonstrate how to change these settings. I really appreciate it. Thanks!!
Absolutely amazing video, so easy to grasp the concepts you explain! 5 years old and still the best video i have found explaining aperture, shutter speed and iso! thankyou so much!!!
You made this subject easy to understand. Thank you
Great video! I have been leaning on Av and Tv Modes but with your explanation of priorities between ISO and Shutter Speed I understand my T7i so much better than I did. Thank you! I shoot cars for $$ and I have a feeling I am going to get some epic shots in M mode today. 👍
Thank you for actually explaining what they do and how they work together. This is the only video that has this kind of in depth and down to earth explanation. Thank you sir .
Thank you so much mate, you just saved me £150 on a beginners DSLR course! Absolutely amazing tutorial and covered everything I have been (trying) to learn about for the past few days!! A big thank you mate!! :)
Finally a video that I understand! Thank you so much! This is extremely helpful
im on the first 4 mins and a half and already assimilated what i couldn't in several other videos.thank you, nice and simple.loved it.basics of iso, shutter speed and aperture now engraved in my fragile memory.cheers for the video
I have searched the internet for someone who could explain in a way i could understand and no one could, untill this video! Amazing! Than you BIG TIME! I didn´t know my camera could do all of that! //Nina from Sweden

Thank you so much, Just bought a T5i :)
I have been trying to learn these three things for 2 yrs. now and it seems so confusing to me until you explained it simply enough even I could understand. I was frustrated and just stayed on auto. I did not know to look at the settings in Aplus setting first and go from there. That will help so much so I at least have a clue of where to start from. Thank you so much. I am looking forward to more of your tutorials.
outstanding tutorial. I recently purchased a canon 80D, with being new to photography / videography, the learning curve is beyond measure; this tutorial was highly informative.
Great vid and wonderful explanation. Thank you
Excellent video, I've had my Canon T6 for a while now, and I'm determined to get off Auto and the P setting, but when I'm out and about I tend to forget stuff and panick, and just use those two settings, concentrating instead on composure, I wonder how many other people are the same, I have to try harder!
Thank you!!.. Used to shoot photography but was thrown from a car in an accident.. I have to relearn almost everything again, even basics.. Thank you for the simplicity in explaining, and taking the time to make a great and helpful video.
This explanation made perfect sense. I didn’t even know you could adjust the settings so quickly and get to see the how the picture changes! We have the same camera model so it was even easier to learn! Thank you bud! 🙏

This is how supposedly the sharer must explain. Not an ego. The way result of shots. Remember no well verse photographer would watch or search in youtube regarding photography but mostly the beginners. This is the best input ever. Step step. Excellent.
Fantastic! Thank you for a wonderful guide with real time examples. This has helped 'me' on the path to being able to take pictures, not just letting the camera take them.

I'm doing higher photography at school and you can get away with using auto everything but I just got my own camera (on budget - eos 1300D) so of course, I want to be able to use it manually. I was finding it really difficult to understand how exposure works and how changing one thing mean you have to adjust another, but it's much much clearer now. Thank you!
This is the best explanation ive ever seen in my entire existence.Thank you for making it so simple to understand.
The best instructor for explaining photography I have had. The content is very useful and practical for beginners. Thank you !
Cheers man, this video made me understand camera way more, greatly appreciated bro :D
The exposure button(exposure compensation is its real name) is useless in Manual mode.
Great video! Never understood anyone explaining these things no matter how many videos I've watched, you've done it in one go! Thank you, can't wait to try all these settings out
This is amazing !!! You are the only one that can make a video that is "technical" but still very easy to follow 👍🏼You do you technical terms but you explain them very well 👌🏼😋
I want to say thank you for all your videos. I am new to DsLR and I'm learning a lot with your tutorials. I recently purchased the T5i. When I'm in Manual, I set up my exposure and at times I cannot take the picture. I press the shutter but it would not take it. The exposure simulation icon keeps blinking. I have to exit and look through the view finder to take the picture. Why is this?
I have to agree with Curtis watched so many videos then watch this video & I understand what you are talking about. Thanks a lot have subscribed

Wow...very instructional and simply put. thank you SO much.
Love your videos! I am a beginner and I appreciate the way you explain each video step by step I have learned so much!!
WOW...of all of the videos I have watched this is probably one of the best to learn manual mode! I have always been puzzled to know how to compare what I think is the best setting and how to tell if the camera thinks it is not right. Thank you so much! Anyone going to manual mode should watch this video. Wish I could give it 2 thumbs up.
Trust me, I love nature and I love Photography but the fact that I was never able to capture it right made me so frustrated. Your video is so clear and simple that it solved all those mysteries for me. Thank you so much
