One of the best tests superzoom I've ever seen. You made closeup, tested over long distances, as focused on building top people, took a close-up on the moon ... very good! the only thing I regret is that she did not do camera pan, that's all. Congratulations! Great video!

I don't care what people say this camera is amazing I just got mine!! Yes it's not as good as a DSLR but it's pretty close... And I'm coming from a Canon 70D

I was wanting to know would this be a great camera to use when (1)-taking videos from inside an aircraft to get great scenery views while in the air,and(2) take Great night time shots of a skyline such as Hong Kong, Dubai, New York, etc. ,and (3)-use to do video reviews on KZread? ***** Got it last week, took my first Moon shot last night standing outside my front door. :)

This camera is sensational, spectacular and zoom functions similar to a Canon Rebel SLR and I fell in love with it and purchased and photographs to make good on trails and in any situation that comes my way. It's easy enough for beginners to use but it also has features that will allow you to go further if you want. In all honesty, I thought my cell phone took better pictures than this camera. What a lot of people don't realize.... Is when you look at pic's taken by people, they have usually been through light room or Photoshop to brighten them up.give them some punch and depth. Don't get me wrong,it is a nice camera for zoom but even that is hard to figure out. If you don't know how to adjust the settings in the main menu,you just get regular zoom but KZread has plenty of tutorials that can help you. Also,you might love it. Mine broke after 6 months and had to be sent back and repaired. You also get sick of the zoom pretty fast because the pictures are so bad you can only take so many moon shots. I was very disappointed in this camera but again,you might love it. I also think it's harder to use than my professional camera. But,if you set it on Auto and find the digital zoom in the menu,you will be fine. Make sure you get it from a place with a good return policy. Good luck!

Hi, thanks for posting this nice video clip. It is amazing to see at hd quality of things for which we normally have to use telescpoic lens. I will be buying hx50 hs in couple of weeks. I would like to whether can we take still images at the same time we recording a vedio and I would also like to know how is the countinueous snap mode "burst shots". Thank you.

Thanks all for your comments. I didn't have a chance to work with other similar cameras but I'm very satisfied with this one. It made me leave my Nikon D90 at home. George, I planned to display the zoom "steps" but the video was hand taken an I focused on holding camera steady and couldn't get the zoom in steps as I wanted. I'm not sure about the "burst mode" but when I have a chance I'll test it and post an update. Thanks!

Just got the same camera. Not even close to this zoom capability. Even at 200x digital. Thought there was something wrong with mine until I went to some photography sites and saw actual zoom range. Neat zooms on your camera though. Looks like miles of zoom.

in the future, people can capture/record the astronauts on the moon ;). those cameras will be called 'canon telescope sx50 hs' etc :D

as in sony hx300 ( watch my videos of moon,jupiter etc.) Engeeners managed to made quite good range of 50-200X digital zoom ( 1200-4800mm 35 egv.) so here it is very good quality. in sony little better because of avchd filming mode and 50p. Nevertheless really great range up to 200x will be in the future only if Japan best engeeners managed to built / construct 200x optical zoom. Even if it will be very big, lot's of people will buy it for sure.

Hey Stefany, So far I haven't noticed the audio go south in any situation. I recorded once the "used to be" the biggest US cargo aircrafts during airshow with 4 engines running and the audio was fine. Another time I recorded some local band in Central Park, I wasn't very loud but to me the sound was good too. You can check it here: #CityOfTheSun Hope it will help you decide.

What length lens did it take to get these zooms. I have the sx50hs and it isnt even close to half this performance. I suspect a telescope with camera attached.

I'm new to the camera world, but I have to say overall im impressed with my canon sx50, but one thing that is misleading about all these zoom test videos that makes you the video viewer think that the camera is zooming in a forever distance. Im sure there is a logical explanation but im going to put it out as i see it. When zoomed out on my sx50 it is at 24mm and in the display things are a lot further away from me than in person, its not till I get to about 100mm does the camera see things as the human eye does according to my camera that is about 4x zoom. So just keep in mind when watching these zoom videos that objects in video are closer that they appear when zoomed out.

I have this camera...theres NO way it zooms like that. Believe me, wish i can return it, at 12 mp the images are terrible too. good luck, imo look for something in dSLR. *** what I should explain, the zoom is there but theres no image quality if you take a picture at 1200, Im disappointed with reviews about zoom capability and little about image quality. ***

Your camera must have some particular problem then! I own one and am amazed with its performance! And I own a DSLR 7D! See my 1200mm picture of a boat or house at FB! Amazing indeed!
