Look at how much more noise is in the r7 photos. That difference alone is enough to turn me off of the canon. And that is before talking about the lens availability for both cameras. One has like 5 lenses I think, and the other has hundreds.

The sony is so cripple.. single card slot, so much noise in the picture, low res sensor, slow burst

For me, a big plus of the ‘6700 is the far-upper-left viewfinder. I have kind of a big nose, I guess - but with this viewfinder configuration, not only is this a comfortable spot, but I stabilize the whole camera against my nose. Using a ‘center’- mounted, SLR-style viewfinder feels odd and uncomfortable to me.

    1. I could clearly see noise difference and im watching on my phone, saying they are almost similar makes me doubt your entire review. 2. The af test results are opposite of other reviews.

The big problem with the r7 is that canon makes FOUR total lenses for it, none of them very high quality, and doesn't really allow third-party lenses. If canon had the same or even close to the same selection of aps-c lenses as sony, the r7 would be much, much more appealing.

Agreed. This is why I chose to go with Sony. Sony is committed to the e mount system and it’s their entire selling point. The amount of lenses available for Sony apsc cameras is completely unmatched by anyone else on the market. So Sony sells bodies like hot cakes.

Why not get the adapter, then you can buy all the ef and ef-s glass you want?

@@Universal_Craftsmanadditional bulk, additional expense, additional thing that can go wrong, and using older lenses compared to other apsc options that have new lenses designed for that specific system.

@@alexeipg It's only 100$, and imagine how much good L lenses you can get second-hand, but make sure they perform on APS-C though, since there are a few ones which the APS-C cameras can't handle. If you buy the r7 new for 1500$ you need at least 1500$ lens budget as well, otherwise it makes no sense. If you are on a budget get a 7dii or 90d with good lenses, there is no point to get a new body, and then run around with subpar lenses. If you get the r7, negotiate with the dealer, there is a chance he gives you an RF adapter for free to your r7, he might also have some second-hand lenses, go for them, get practice with the camera and save up for RF lenses, the order you get them depends what you want to do.

@@Universal_Craftsman thanks for the advice, but I’ll just stick with a camera that has a manufacturer actually supporting it with native lenses designed for that system

@@mbismbismb Yeah but for example you can't get any of the fantastic standard APS-C zoom lenses, like Tamron 17-70 F2.8, which I own for fuji X mount and is absolutely fantastic ; and third-party telephoto EF glass apparently doesn't adapt that well to the r7 (especially sigma 150-600). My point is that you have a fantastic body, but you can't use it to its maximum nor use its weather sealing without paying a large amount of cash, whereas E-mount APS-C lenses are numerous, cheap and great. However, I still think the best value camera gear for now can be found with Fuji X mount cameras and third-party lenses (Tamron, Sigma and Viltrox sort of complete each other there for very cheap, and native Fuji lenses are fantastic and not that expensive compared to Canon FF lenses)

The r7 is a better camera but has a worse lens selection. The a6700 is a little bit behind the r7 but has a outstanding lens selection. The lenses are 75% of the picture so I would comfortably say that the a6700 is the superior apsc camera over the two!
