    @@Josh_Sattin I re watched the video this time on my desktop and not my mobile and I'm disappointed to see the same Canon wide angle wobble. I just can't win - the Sony has IS but jerky since most lenses don't have OIS like the 20G/24GM where the Canon has good IS and great OIS when using RF24 F1.8STM / RF 24-105L but the video wobble is not great. So jerky video or wobble. Most of my videos are on family trips or outings and I have very few static shots so lots of movement - walking panning , hand holding kind of stuff. I have cages for both my A74 and my R6 but would prefer to use the Canon now that R6 Mk2 offers shutter priority video like my Sony. I also have a gimbal but my kids and wife will refuse to walk around with me with the gimbal. Been on many European trips and hardly ever see gimbals with a large camera. I guess most people just use a very good smartdevices for these types of videos. I simply refuse to use my Iphone.

    I don't do a lot of handheld vlogging, but I feel like the wobbles are better on this camera than then previous ones, maybe not. I also shot this at 15mm with the electronic IS off. I will have to test it at less wide of a focal length and with the electronic IS. There are always tradeoffs with this stuff. I find the Canon's IBIS to be so much smoother than Sony's for walking shots.

    I was completely caught off-guard by the R6 Mark II announcement - but now am beyond excited to add to my kit sometime this spring. While for photography, it's an incremental improvement, the video specs are a huge step up, and the 6K RAW output feature was the clincher for me since I already own the Ninja V.

    Seriously love your content style Josh, always appreciate the insight & thoroughness. Great having a go-to channel that’s not motivated by sponsors and/or relying on hyper click-baity titles/thumbnails. Sooo many channels for photo/video has become unwatchable IMO You mentioned “comment below” for vid ideas … be cool to see some side-by-side in-camera comparisons using the Atmos, showing the difference in AF between R62 and R6/7/5. Would be interesting to objectively see difference between things like: - Dual Pixel vs Dual Pixel II - Auto Subject Detect (looks awesome!) - HFS keeper ratio - low light / big aperture performance long wishlist here lol, but just brainstorming. A good review like this might finally squash this crap about the R62 could have been a FW update. Even if this is true, I’m too much of a fanboi to admit it hahahaa. Again, thanks for the great content m8!

    Love your content! I currently own the R6 m1. I love that camera. I’m mainly shooting video but I like to take eventually more photos and be a more do it all guy. With the R6 I’ve had the overheating problems which made me go get an a7siii which is fantastic. So now, I’m stuck with two ecosystems and haven’t really invested in good glass for not knowing which route to go, canon or Sony with a camera that can be amazing at video primarily and good in photos. Is this R6m2 the way to go. What camera would you go for if you started from cero. I think you are the guy with the right answer for the variety of equipment you have used. Please excuse my English. I just got my first camera last week, A7 IV. Mostly using it to shoot videos and stream to begin with, but also like the photography capabilities(long term). • @dusty_burkhalter

    @dusty_burkhalter

    Жыл бұрын

    Just an outsiders advice, number one, the A7IV is a great camera so don't overthink it too much. If this is your first camera, Sony offers a lot more affordable lens options on the e-mount system which is going to allow you to grow your kit much faster. With the R6II you'll likely be adapting glass. As someone who came from the R6 to the A7IV, adapting gets to be an absolute pain. Now if you've got the budget to buy RF glass, that is another conversation. Lastly, for what it's worth, camera companies are always leap frogging each other, that is just how competition works, so even if the R6II offers some advantages over the A7IV right now, the A7V will certainly answer that. Ultimately you have to decide which ecosystem you want to invest in and stick with it, unless you're fine with losing tons of money chasing the latest and greatest. Just my .02, but here's how I know. Over the last three years I have spent too much time listening to KZread and switching cameras: here's my list - Canon 80D, Canon 6D Mark II, Sony A6400, Sony A6600, Sony A7III x 2, Sony A7c, Fuji X-E4, Canon R6 x 2 and now back with Sony on the A7IV. If I added up the amount of money I lost chasing specs and listening to reviews, I could probably have an insane pro-setup and I just listed the cameras here, I can't begin to even think about the amount of money I have lost on glass. Enjoy the process not the gear, you'll be much better off.

    I don't have a R5 to compare it to, but the R6 II supposedly has a slightly newer autofocus system that is in the R3. The autofocus yesterday worked pretty well for filming me and birds. About the 4K60, again I don't have an R5, but it will be a line skipped image in 4K60 verses a 6K oversample in 4K60 on the R6II. The R5 only does the 8K oversample up to 4K30.

    New follower here. Well done! I just picked up an r6 ii as a 2nd body to my R5. I shoot mostly wildlife (not exclusively) and wanted a 2nd body that was lighter w/o the battery grip for bunch of reasons with video hi on the list. Oddly enough I have ended up using it with an RF 800 F11 I had that hasn't seen much use. With the R6 you get a LOT more focus area than on other RF bodies and with decent ISO performance it's making that lens a lot more useful (big plus). It's a super light combo with all that reach. I have been going out with the 100 to 500 on the R5 with a battery grip and the RF 800 f11 on the R6 MK ii both comfortably sit in my cotton carrier when not in use and its like having an internal tele converter... I do prefer the R5 IQ in most but not all cases. Having 100 to 800 mm easily quickly available is sort of a game changer in wildlife. I am very interested in how you set your R6 up for video.
