honestly I think it’s canon that the Miya twins have the same personality but osamu is more calmer😐 atsumu fanon Version isn’t even that bad it’s just him getting bullied all the time😞 in my eyes Sakusa isn’t a Germerphobic he just doesn’t like getting sick so he can stay on the court longer.

I honestly think he's a Clean Freak because the creator of Haikyuu! Said smth abt it in their Twitter but I don't think he goes THAT far I mean he plays volleyball without his mask on that means when he is in somewhere where he feels secure, he trust in this place or is comfortable he feel available to take his mask off. By the other side, with a lot of strangers surrounding him and you don't know where those b1tches has been, and you're a germaphobe or you just wanna throw everytime you see someone who is always sweaty or just doesn't looks like they took a shower I think you would go to a corner away from them too, and even more if you are an introvert but REALLY introvert, and shy. In conclusion: I think Sakusa is a Clean Freak in some (some? In a BIG) way, but he is just being himself and he can also be like other people, not worrying about what surrounds him, when he gets very concentrated onto smth. (Talking abt 2018 before Cov1d)

I'm a germaphobe (mysophobia, bacteriophobia and whatnot) and the germaphobe Sakusa stereotype is kinda offensive and extremely incorrect. Traits of a moderate germaphobe include- Showering more often than regular people, including morning and night sometimes afternoon depends if I go out tho. Clean freak, cleaning most things before touching them (public places only though, friends' houses and my own are fine i guess) And this is just me but I have a bad dislike for affection but I atleast tolerate it, if it's a stranger or my sweaty pedo grandpa- ew no dont touch me, if it's a friend or one of my parental guardians then you can hug mejust dont kiss me or start crying and get your snot on me. And this is also just me but Mysophobia is a small portion of why I can't really (Willingly) go to public places, I have really bad androphobia so I can't last long before puking from anxiety or having a panic attack in a restroom. But Canon Sakusa isn't exactly like that? He only wears a mask smh-

Like for example, in his backstory in the timeskip, we get to see how he hates people who don't know ow to wipe their wet hands. I could literally rant about the whole fanon versions of haikyuu and how disgusting they are but what bothers me the most is the whole "I'm a Germaphobe, don't get close to me" thing. I literally have mysophobia, so I am afraid of bacteria but that doesn't mean I can't let anyone close to me (and no, they don't have to take 64 showers) what I'm trying to say is that sakusa, even if he really is a germophobe, he still is able to make friends. Just because there was one scene in the Anime where he was standing alone in a corner, doesn't mean that he is an emotionless person who hates everyone. Literally I wouldn't like to be around many sweaty volleyball players too because it's still a fear of bacteria but he can still talk to people and make friends. He's human, not some sort of freak. Sadly nobody really tries to understand mysophobic people and makes sakusa act like a total freak

I don't have mysophobia, but I also feel like the fandom goes overboard when portraying him. (Or they act like it'll go away when he starts dating someone, but I'm more used to seeing stuff like that since I have depression and anxiety and that's often what happens with characters who have those.) With the crowd thing, isn't it pretty common for people with mysophobia to not like crowds? Being surrounded by a shit ton of people must be different than being around a couple of people, especially if they're people you know. The fandom tends to just use Sakusa's mysophobia as an excuse to make him toxic and cold, which only adds to stigma toward mental illness. I don't think a lot of people understand how harmful poor portrayals of mental illness can be.

I also have Mysophobia and the way they portray it is so incorrect and annoying "No I have Germaphobia" firstly I would like it if they say mysophobia instead because people use 'germaphobe' as an insult often (lmao) and when did my phobia stop me from doing something? never. Please, Motoya even mentioned that he hates CROWDS not people, he'd talk to them, but he's not someone who'd avoid all human contact since that guy plays volleyball, a sport that makes you sweaty and you need to communicate with players for a good play 💀 (Also, if you took 64 showers, you'd be exhausted and your skin would be super super dry to the point cream can't save you 😔)

I really don't get how people made Osamu a toxic twin bc I have a twin. I act a bit more like Atsumu and my twin bro acts like Osamu. As a person with step sisters (I’m technically an only child) I do understand. I love my siblings, but I do tease them and they tease me. Heck my mom and step dad join in. I don’t always agree with what they do or say, and the same is back at me. But we all love each other. We’ve only had a really big serious fight like, twice. We don’t bully each other, and while some people sadly live like that, it’s canon that they still care about each other. So why would you make one abuse the other? It’s stupid.
