LITERALLY like iwa is the least toxic person and he genuinely cares about his teammates, especially oikawa like what part of him even makes the fandom think of him like that?

Honestly fanon is so frustrating, like I love Ushijima but fanon is divided in two: either a villain like character who is mean to people intentionally or just a dude who acts like he's a grandpa with no other traits. In the canon, he's probably one of the most decent people you could meet.

the oikawa part made me sad. he deserves better, everybody just bullies him around in fanon and he rarely fights back, just goes like "mean iwa chan mean." In canon, sure the team teases him but that's because he usually teases first and the third years are very close. Usually oikawa is just teasing iwa in the anime and iwa retaliates, iwa doesn't just bully him out of nowhere.

Agree, I hate that this fandom takes one prominent trait from the characters and exaggerates it to the max, to the point they end up not having any personality besides this one trait. Like I love s3 ep 7 bc we get to see more of Ushijima and how he interacts with his teammates, but ppl seem to forget about it in favour of making him act like a weird mix of boomer, stalker and robotic
