Man, if I can share this joy with someone and help them out - even one person - it is all worth it. I wish I have taken video but i was really just enjoying watching his excitement! I dont have a million followers, I dont sell projects (I promote my own music on the streaming stations), and I am not doing this to make money. I do it beacuse i really enjoying being able to share. Bill - that made me feel really great to do that. I am so glad I did. You know, I have been using the R5 again and I forgot just how amazing that camera is bar none. WOW. I will be shooting the R5 whole lot more!! And now I want the EF 800mm lens - again WOW!!! Thank you Bill. 🙏🤗❤

Thank you Adrian my friend. That was the simply amazing and I am so glad I had him use it for a bit. I hope he remembers it but for me it was priceless. I really was planning on selling this camera body so this was going to be a final outing.... but man the focus is off the charts amazing on this camera. I have been looking at lenses to hire in for weekend - an 800mm for this camera body. I think it would be AMAZING. I really want to play with the Nikon 800mm too but no one has it in stock. Ah well. I have shot multiple ef big primes. The 500 is my favorite of the three main big ones. Long enough yet still able to do relatively close focus and more hand holdable than a 600

I loved that lens. I have been thinking about getting a 400mm just for fun. I do enjoy my 600 and hand hold it all the time, but some of the new zoom with a shorter focal distance do outperform some these older primes in many ways. The 100-500 is an amazing lenses with a super short MFD! 🙏🤗💖

I wish you the joy of your birds and dragonflies. The video scene of you photographing the shore birds was worth the visit. So. You got a good workout. That R5 is a lightweight, but you’re right: the 500mm f/4 isn’t! We agree 1,000% about gear. You must be a genius. Thanks for the good spirit.

Thank you, thank you!!! I am not genius (average at best) but I will look to you for that. I am just an average photographer that really enjoys being out there with a camera. The newer lenses that are not in my price range are lighter but I have older stuff and it still works perfectly. Today, I was shooting the Nikon Z9 with the adapted 500 PF. Although the body is heavy, the lens is so light and comfortable. I see what others want with weight and where there is a compromise between that and quality. I was going to buy the R5 yesterday but since they will release an R5II (And I know I'm buying that) It was between the R6II or the R3 so I could have a lower MP camera, So I decided on the R3 which is an amazing camera but just wondering why they haven't added the pre shooting raw burst mode on that camera, My R7 has it.

I forgot how much I LOVE this camera. I do wish they had the pre as well but there is no perfect set up. We did not have that on our old DSLRs and we had a slow FPS so everything we DO have on these new bodies is still awesome. I really was going out to shoot this one more time since I was shooting the R7 more..... but this camera body has a certain something I just love! Thank you for watching. 🙏🤗❤

Thomas!!! Ich benutze die Z9 und ein paar Canon-Kameragehäuse ... und ich stimme Ihnen zu. Der Canon AF ist einfach unglaublich. Ich bekomme negative Kommentare, wenn ich sage, dass die Nikon Z9 nicht so fortschrittlich ist wie die ältere Canon R5, aber es stimmt. Das Canon AF-System ist ... erstaunlich!! 🙏🤗❤

Thank you!!! I use an INNOREL carbon tripod I got on Amazon for a 1/4 of what the really right stuff one goes for. I have had it for over 4 years. The gimbal I bought a long time ago on eBay - I don't even know what brand it is. I use construction straps and what ever else I can to clip the camera lens combo to the tripod when walking. It is a sickening heart wrenching feeling if it hits the ground..... and yes, I have had that happen. If something come loose, it will dangle before hitting the ground. Thank you, thank you, thank you!! I really love the longer lenses and more reach! 🙏❤🤗

As always, great video :) I have short question, is better to choose canon 100-400mm + 1.4x or sigma 150-600mm for wildlife and some birds shoots ?

I have not used the Sigma or Tamron 150-600mm lenses, but I do use and can highly recommend the Canon EF 100-400 "II" with Canon 1.4X "II" or "IIi". There is virtually no loss of image quality with those combos, which is amazing for a zoom + teleconverter. You do need a camera able to focus an f/8 combo, which limits some of the Canon DSLRs, but AFAIK all the R-series mirrorless can handle easily.

I think Alan M. said it perfectly. I have not used a tele with my version one 100-400 and I have not used version two. I do have the Sigma 150-600 and I think it is an awesome lens - not perfect, but I am able to get shots that make me happy. Regardless of what others say, I have had great success with that lens. If you are able to borrow or rent, I would suggest that to try the different combos to find something that works for your style. 🙏🤗❤

He hecho muchos, muchos, pero a partir de este momento los vendí para poder comprar el R3. Extraño muchas cosas que el R3 no hace. Planeo o espero tener el R5 II o el R1 dependiendo de sus especificaciones. También sigo pensando en comprar otro R5 cuando salgan y el precio del R5 baje un poco más. Realmente es un cuerpo IMPRESIONANTE. 🙏💖🤗

It was the first version - #1. It is an AMAZING lens, but I have traded it in for credit towards a new RF lens. But man, I sure loved it. 🙏🤗💖

Which EF 500mm f/4 IS are you using... Mark II or original? Which 1.4X? The reason I'm asking is because I plan to pick up an R5 some day and still have my 500mm "Mark I"... Have been trying to decide whether to keep or sell the lens. Are you using lens IS or the camera's IBIS? I understand with adapted lenses only one or the other will work... While with RF lenses that have IS, it works in conjunction with IBIS.

I have the version one of the 500 F4 IS L lens. The tele I use is the Canon 1.4X III. I keep the image stabilization on my lens on at all times. I prefer that to the IBIS as far as adapted lenses - at least it works better on adapted lenses with the Nikon Z9. I had not used the R5 in a bit and was really happy to be shooting it again. I think the eye AF is simply amazing and better than the tracking on the Nikon Z9 - I do get grief for saying that but I think it is true. You can see how excited I was because it is so amazing. Any way..... I love the 500 F4 I have and it amazingly sharp, but I think the RF100-500 is sharper - for about the same money, and the RF 100-500 should perform better with an RF tele than the EF 500... and that is amazing!! 🙏🤗❤

@@JonnyPink65 Thanks for your response! I agree the RF 100-500 is more versatile, smaller, lighter and an excellent lens... But there's also f/4 (or f/5.6 w/ 1.4X added) with the 500mm, versus f/7.1 (or f/10 w/ 1.4X) with the zoom). I'm happy to hear the 500mm "Mark I" adapts and works well on the R-series, since that's the lens I have, too. (I also have the EF 100-400 "II" when I want something more versatile.) I'm still using the 1.4X II, but have always been very happy with it so would give it a try before buying anything else.

@@alanm.4298 Absolutely!! My 100-400 and it works perfectly. And I have to say - even if I only get one shot that makes me happy, I was out and had fun. I also think that what no one really talks about is the adapter with the change from DSLR to mirrorless. It is simply taking up the distance that was there before by the mirror. It is like that for telescopes and astro cameras - back focus. 🤗
