    Had 2 of them. Got my first one in july of 1989 and the second one sometime in 1991. One died kept the second one as a back up after getting the Canon A2 then the EOS 1V-HS. The film cameras worked very much the same way the current Canon DSLR.... After I went full Digital (summer of 2008) the following happend to my SLR's: 1 film camera died, 2 where donated to a local college that taught photography, the EOS 1V-HS was sold. I got rid of my good film cameras in favor of Digital and I never looked back or regretted the decision. Yes I stuck with Canon.

    Just bought this one, with the eos rt (same camera but use pellicle mirror). Their build is really astonishing despite it was made from plastic. Its heavy (which i love, it gives a very robust and quality build feels) and both works great. I love them! I also bought laina ef-minolta converter so i can use my fav minolta lens on it. Despite its electronics, its farrrrrrr better than point and shoot which i hate because of how easy it is to break despite like new condition

    I used the EOS630 for about 15 years, works fantastic with USM lenses too, and as long as you know where the focus points are (and understand vertical vs horizontal contrast points) its a fantastic camera with a high shutter rate ... just watch out for the backlit display going bad and causing battery drain. Shutter is also a bit "harsh" too ... so watch out for "shock" in macro work at "vulberable" shutter speeds

    Ya, as long as it's an EF lens and not an EF-s lens, it'll work. Even the 50mm Youguo (or however it's spelled) will work. My 620 doesn't like the 35mm Youguo. The only think I truly dislike about the EOS film cameras, is the 2CR5 batteries. Expensive and hard to find. Great video, thanks.

    Good review and it goes to show just how far ahead Canon were compared to Nikon. I had the 650 solid lump but beware as these early eos cameras suffer from a sticky mess jamming the shutter. This is caused by aging internals breaking down. No real cure other than a comprehensive strip down and rebuild simply not worth it.

    Does this camera have a port for a shutter release cable ? If so what type of port ? Is it possibly the three prong port that we use with modern digital canon models now. For instance i use the same cable on my 7D as I use with my eos3. Thanks so much. Thanks for the video.

    I have a couple of the EOS cameras, the EOS 2000 NF (which was the last SLR I bought as a new camera) and the EOS 5 though I’ve never set up the eye focusing gizmo. I find they are really good for holidays etc where I only need one set of lenses as I shoot digital with the 5DIII and 7DII. The EOS 5 is perfectly acceptable as a wildlife camera, though the thought of the cost of the film would terrify me. They also came with the worst kit lens imaginable the 28-80 f3.5-5.6, made out of melted bin bags. It’s one of those things that’s it’s so bad it’s fun. I don’t think any of them would win any prizes for their looks.

    Since making this video I've almost never used this EOS camera. It's not because of the image quality .... as it's auto focus is decent when compared to other cameras of the same age. Plus with modern canon glass, it's excellent. I was really impressed by the results it gave. But it's such a big lump of a thing, that I just never reach for it. For me the smaller Nikon cameras like the FE2 and F3 etc.. are used far more despite being manual focus. Additionally I've sold my 6D and most of my decent canon glass... so now it's fuji and Nikon for me

    Film Camera Reviews For me size doesn’t matter, in fact it helps me when shooting landscapes and wildlife. It’s the character, or lack of, that doesn’t over endear them to me. I like cameras like my Zorki because so much is against giving the amazing shots it does, not least of these is quality control. Likewise my OM10, that I bought purely for the glass that came with it, has proven to be a cracking little camera.

    @@markharris5771 you know what...(after much thought) really for me it boils down to if the camera gets in the way. The EOS system is all a bit menus and buttons. All I want is shutter speed, ISO and aperture.. as physical dials I can turn. I think that's what works best and things have all got a bit over engineered of late. It's a big reason why I sold my canon 6d and got a fuji...as once it's setup I don't need much else...I've got physical dials for shutter speed etc ... Oh I'm a fan of the Zorki too. No frills, no light meter, just you and the machine

    do these eos film cameras take EFS lens??

  • @dangerpowers123

    @dangerpowers123

    4 жыл бұрын

    That's a damn good question. The short answer is ...yes you could mount an EFS lens I think... But the lens would have too small a rear element size for the full frame size of the film in the camera so you would get black outer circular cropping on your images
