Let me just say, these are the best shots filmed with vintage lenses I’ve seen! I used Carl Zeiss Jena Lenses and absolutely love the look they create
This was jaw-droppingly good. Wow. Bravo.
Looks incredible indeed. The shots are flawless, especially the first one. Nobody mentioned colour grading here: that's stunning!
The first shot is just Perfect!!!
Absolutely stunning!
First shot is a masterpiece
This looks really good! The best KZread footage I've seen from the C70

you’re amazing and such a big inspiration. would love a tutorial on how you got that first shot. mind blowing!!

Thank you that means a lot! Haha the bts of that shot was hilarious. I had the Konova K2 slider on the ground, then pulled focus from the flower to Megan, and started pulling the knob of the slider up with a hairtie to take out any jitter from my hands. Once I focused it I grabbed the handle to my tripod head and started panning up the hill. Would've been way easier with more people, but you work with what you got!
Cannot say what is better , c70 , lens , slider or your time of choosing light and seeing in sunset light, awesome job
new toad movie looks so good. can’t wait to see it. MAAH!
amazing
Superb!

Thank you!
Beautiful work, colours are gorgeous! I'm considering the Biogon 35mm F2, also a great lens and 35mm is such a great all-round focal length!
so good
how on earth did you focus those shots ? incredible work the camera movement was at the perfect pace. the opening shot was amazing I thought it was on a tripod at first then the camera started moving 😲
subscribed after the first shot!
0:17 frame was spectacular.
wow this was is inspirational man ! I feel like taking my c70 and go out to shoot something right now

영상 너무 좋습니다 ㅠㅠ
I like it ❤
cool
very nice
Очень красиво!
These shots have less to do with C70 and more with talent behind the camera, although Zeiss Jena play the larger part than the camera body, the shots do look incredible.
just got this lens today
Amazing cinematography! Did you shot mostly at f/2.4? Any speedbooster was used?Thanks
How do you nail manual focus as you're panning around and moving towards the subject? It looks so smooth and buttery. I just film stuff on a Sony zv-E10, so I imagine having a small external monitor would help me to better determine my focus point? I feel like the screen is so small that when I use manual lenses (old Minolta Rocker lenses) even using the focus zoom feature isn't a guarantee that it will be precisely in focus. I guess I could use a broader depth of field, but with the smaller sensor shooting in 4k I try to keep the ISO as low as possible to ensure better image quality (which in low light means using f2.8 and potentially even f1.7 with the 50mm lens I've got).
Amazing!!! Do you pull focus manually with your hand? or do you use a focus motor and control the focus through the gimbal?
Lovely stuff! Was the speedbooster used with his glass?
Hi, did you used a speedbooster ? Thanks ;)
How did you manage to make the 'dolly shot' (especially in the 1st and 4th shots)? I loved this, great colours and motivated movements!
Great job! What was it like working with the Flektogon lens? Any trouble focusing or getting the image to look like you wanted? Thanks!
So good. Nice job! What version of the Flek was that?
South of Timp 😉
Hey man LOVE the videos ! Your work is great!!!! If i could ask , what export settings do you use ? Also what sequence for the clips? Aspect ratios ?
@DylanKatoFilms
Жыл бұрын
Thanks! I export in H.264 VBR 2 pass at around 30, maximum render quality. Aspect ratio is 2.35:1
Really good work. How much did you get the lens for?
Absolutely stunning footage. Where was this shot? I noticed a Calgary Flames hat in your previous video wondered if you are based in Alberta?
@DylanKatoFilms
Жыл бұрын
Thank you! This was shot at squaw peak in Utah, where I’m based. Although I did live in Calgary for 2 years
What version did you use for this?
Hey dude! Big fan of your work! What aspect ratio did you export this project out in?
bro did u use a focu reducer?
I love the way you look at things ! Are you recommend new lens?
@DylanKatoFilms
Жыл бұрын
Thank you! I would recommend this lens, but it is only manual focus and does not produce perfect images by any means, it's meant to have a little imperfection that gives it a lot of character!
Wow! Beautiful! What mount is this lens? Might have to give it a try
@DylanKatoFilms
Жыл бұрын
Thank you! I got it cine adapted for EF mount, which I put on my Ef-Rf converter from canon
Now you convinced me to subscribe. Opening is insane looks like some unreal engine scene out of this world.

Beautiful shots and Color grade, its a Canon LUT?
@DylanKatoFilms
Жыл бұрын
Thank you! It's the canon clog 2 to BT709 lut, then graded with Lumetri
dawg how did you color grade this
Hello, could you please tell wich record settings do you use ? It's handled or gimbal ?
@DylanKatoFilms
Жыл бұрын
Yes, most of these shots are shot with a slider on a tripod. It makes the movement way more steady than a gimbal, which is super important for really upclose shots or things moving in the foreground. Settings wise, I shot at 24fps, f2.4, ISO 800 (for most, some up to 2000), and shot in Clog 2 color profile at 4k
