Canon 50mm 1.4 vs Canon 50mm 1.8 STM - In Depth Comparison Review

Ғылым және технология

✅✅ Canon 50mm STM: amzn.to/2ztYe1r
✅✅ Canon 50mm 1.4: amzn.to/2iG1cb7
✅✅ Top 5 Prime Lenses under $350: amzn.to/2iGxTFj
Today I test out the new Canon 50mm 1.8 STM Lens and compare it to the 50mm 1.4.
The lens is definitely going to compare well with the 50mm 1.4 and easily beats the old 50mm 1.8 II (nifty fifty).
In this video I test out the Canon 50 1.8 STM's bokeh, do some image samples, test out the video quality and test out the autofocus.
The 50mm f/1.8 STM's autofocus has greatly improved, especially when you pair the 50mm f/1.8 STM up with a camera like the Canon 70d or T6s/T6i. Video autofocus works great too.
If you want to see some image samples of the Canon 50mm STM, make sure to check the link at the top of the description as I've included over 20 for you to check out in your own time.

What'd you use to record the video? Specifically the intro. I'm looking to get something that will autofocus like when you put the lenses in front of the came and it racked focus to them then back to you. Or did someone assist you?

Thanks again for a great review. Your reviews are always a pleasure to watch. I wanted to replace my 1.8 II by the new 1.8 STM but then saw the 1.4 USM. It will be the 1.8 STM for sure. I also learned from 1.4 USM owners that is very fragile and a push to the front of the lens can break it.

Pretty nice review! Thank you for this great video! I'm for example one of these guys who stepped up from the lovely plastic fantastic 50mm f/1.8 II to the 50mm 1.4 USM for the better haptics, the better AF, 3 more aperture blades and of course the extra light I get with it 4 years ago and it was worth every penny and a great step forward. But if I had the opportunity to choose between the 1.8 STM and the 1.4 USM back then, I totally would have chosen the 1.8 STM.

I will going to buy the 50mm f/1.8 STM after watching this review, but I did some digging on ebay and I found a 50mm f/1.4 for $80 and i couldn't resist that offer
