cannonball run 2

Cannonball run 2 - Lamborghini chase
its not what you do
its how you do it
be anything you wanna be
its not what you got
its how you use it
you be you
and i'll be me
its just a matter of style
you can fake it
mile after mile
feeling free
if you got the soul
you can make it
move 'em out
let 'em roll
from sea to shining sea...

    I think it’s safe to say and everyone would agree that the cast between cannonball run one and two both have legendary cast members of legendary Director who got his start as a stuntman! Who was also lucky You have been Burt Reynolds stuntman double For a few movies and they had become good friends and Hal Needham, Who asked her if he was star in a movie about driving Coors beer east of the Georgia state line ,that was movie Smokey and the bandit! That turned out to be a huge success and launched Director Hal Needham into a great career the way that he was able to get all of those big names at that time to do a movie like the cannonball run one and two I mean just think about what HAL must’ve had to say, to all of those giant stars to agree to do such a movie I wonder what that pitch meeting was like? But whatever he said it worked. because those are two movies that you could never ever reboot because you would never be able to get a cast of such successful movie stars in today’s day and age to do a movie like that for basically peanuts, as far as compensation was concerned because they did it for the fun and that’s what makes these movies special! Thank God there are just some movies that just cannot be remade and these are two that cannot and for that I’m thankful!👍🏻👏🏻😎

I bein 12 or so took it as Gospel, then again I believed anything my Dad said till age 30 lol He'd tell me other "less scarring" Tall Tales too lol ....and tho' I'm 46 and have no children of my own I tell my young nieces, nephews and children of my friends similar tall stories (tho' of a slight "less degree burning " nature) to the point now they ask me to tell the same TALL stories again and again 😃... like how the Easter Bunny knocked on my door once because his car needed a jump AND knocked the following yoesr to borrow $5 cuz he ran out of gas AND the following year after that where he knocked to return the $5 but only had $4 where upon I insisted he drive us around seeking a working ATM so that he could pay me my full $5.. the story changes slightly every time which probably keeps my 2 nieces asking me to repeat it every year lol ... and everytime I do and those little girls are smiling the adults in the room are belly laughing!! 😂.. such joyous occasions would never have been if my dad hadn't started it.

    The list of 'stars' who participated in this movie is really impressive. It's not like any of them thought they would get an oscar for being in this movie. It's almost like it was just fun to be part of the fun. Hats off to the folks who put it together, got the stars, and the stars who said "heck ya". Fun movies like this are a thing of the past. And this movie was 'diverse' and 'inclusive' before this was cool (or an Oscar requirement). I am so glad I saw both installments on the big screen. A real joy.

    You're still alive and kicking, so the dream is not dead yet. You sound like how I was with the Countach - obsessed; a full wall of my room plastered with dozens of posters and pictures, half a dozen models on my shelf, many, many trips to the Lamborghini dealership in Toronto to stare at the Countaches in the showroom. I got to know all the staff and would bring them coffee and donuts and they treated me really well. And then I started to get to know the owners of these cars. I really hit it off with one owner in particular and we ended up becoming good friends. He wasn't a rich guy, just somebody that was as passionate about the Countach as I was. I was 21 at the time, he was 30. He had spent all the money he had saved for a house on the car and also had a huge loan on it. He lost his girlfriend in doing so because she was furious that he had bought the car instead of house. I'll never forget the conversation we had in the car the day his girlfriend left him. He said "Fuck it, I didn't have posters on my wall of my dream house or my dream family!". When I turned 33, my opportunity to own one of these cars appeared. My friend's words echoed in my head when, like him, I debated whether to buy the car or a house. Guess which one I bought :)

    What I love about this is its all in good fun, it's a good laugh of a movie. Plus here we have two women out smarting men, driving like demons and there's zero agenda or bullshit. Just hey here's some good looking women who are great drivers holding their own, without belittling or making it a "message" God I miss the 80s and 90s, everyone treated people like adults

  • @Warrior_Resisting_Colonialism

    @Warrior_Resisting_Colonialism

    You didn't get the message because you were too young to get it. Before the 80's women didn't do these things. If we were adults back then, we would have noticed how "out of place" (not in the kitchen) it were to have women be racers too. There was a message. You and I just didn't know women were not being included in socitey like this because it was here, showing us that they were. The message worked. You accepted it as just "two women out smarting men, driving like demons and there's zero agenda or bullshit." without knowing this was a new and revolutionary way that women were being perceived and included. You can bet your ass there were boomer men, up in arms about women "who belonged in the kitchen, not behind the wheel" when this came out, I have NO doubt lol.
