Cannon Mountain - Ravine to Gremlin (Top to Bottom Run)

Спорт

Ravine to Gremlin is an intermediate/beginner run located at Cannon Mountain. The trails run from the summit of the ski area, down to the Peabody Base Area. Upper Ravine, an intermediate trail, starts off the summit to the slight skiers' left of the Cannonball Quad. The trail zig-zags its way down the upper mountain before sharply turning to the right to return towards the center of the mountain. After passing the bottom of the Cannonball Quad, the trail turns into Middle Ravine, also intermediate. The trail wides and runs straight but relatively mellow until an intersection with Turnpike, which exists to the skiers' left. After this, the trail turns into the intermediate Lower Ravine. The trail narrows and has two brief drops. The trail does continue down to the base area, however, that portion of the trail was not open when I visited so I instead merged onto Lower Gremlin, a beginner run. The trail runs under/next to the bottom of the Peabody Express Quad and runs straight and mellow until it reaches the base area.
Cannon Mountain is a ski area located in Franconia, New Hampshire. The ski area sits at the northern end of Franconia Notch State Park, which also is home to the Flume Gorge and the old site of the Old Man of the Mountain, which was located on the side of Cannon Mountain. The ski area is the only ski area owned and operated by the State of New Hampshire (though they also own Mount Sunapee which is also located in a state park). The ski area is the tallest in the state with a vertical drop of 2,180 feet and a summit elevation of 4,080 feet, measuring just above Wildcat in both categories. The ski area is home to a wide variety of intermediate and advanced terrain, as well as a family-friendly beginner area. The ski area is made up of the main mountain which is primarily made up of blue groomers but also contains advanced and beginner trails, the famous Front Five which is home to some of Cannon's steeper terrain, and the reopened Mittersill Area, which is an entirely advanced area which is mostly left natural. The ski area is also home to one of the most famous and difficult ski runs in the country, DJ's Tramline, which runs directly under the ski area's Aerial Tram and features a steep line with plenty of rocks, waterfalls, and other challenging features.

I have Ikon and Indy so I am trying to get to as many of those resorts have possible! So far I've skied 5 days at 4 different resorts (skied at Stratton twice since it is unlimited on Ikon).
