This is my favorite trail at Gore. Only problem is the slow lift which prevents me from lapping it more often.
Yan's grips are not reliable at all! They're unsafe, so I'm glad Garaventa CTEC replaced them and the terminals.
It’s like how the Kaatskill Flyer at Hunter was originally set up!

One of my favorites ❤
Finally get to see a winter version of this and see the mountain un full operation.
I grew up riding this lift to be honest.
is this the steapest blue on the mountain?
Cranny is always good choice, but it's far away. Still, the surrounding town also has a nice vibe to it.
Replacing this lift with a detachable is just overkill in my opinion. The ride time is a solid 7 minutes which is neither too short nor too long. A detachable here would be a mere 2 minutes, that just makes you miss out on good mountain views, as well as the break between ski runs.
Loved Wildcat as a kid many years ago, especially with it's view of Mt Washington and Tuckerman Ravine ( skied there as well - incredible experience!). If you haven't been there yet, you need to go to Sugarloaf during the weekdays when there are almost zero lift lines and very inexpensive lift tickets. Best mountain on the East!
You sound young but you could still probably outski me. I'm going to be 44 at the end of this month (June, 2024).
I think that Okemo has some fairly steep runs on the Jackson Gore side (though it has been a while since I have skied there). Though it is true that an Okemo diamond is not quite like a Cannon diamond. What I do not like is that I'd have to pull out the plastic and that they won't accept my dollars at Vail acquired ski resorts. But the same is true at Belleayre (and now Gunstock). Smh. I think that at Jiminy and Berkshire East, they have to accept cash, BUT the Massachusetts ski areas are smaller.
The Yan triple was actually converted from a double in 2001!
I didn't remember the quad rattling like that when I skied at the Cat.
We used to ski the whole gondola run way back as kids ( '67 -'72) - one of the best runs in the East. Noway would my legs make it nowadays!
Cool
a great green run
If you aren't aware, this lift was removed at the end of the 2022-2023 season and replaced by the Barker 6 for the 2023-2024 season.
The whole point is to enjoy the view....so you decided to speed up the whole video.
youre the one who clicked on on 8 minute video lol
That trail is a great one for beginners and for experienced skiers to warm up. It's long, wide, even, not too steep, and not too flat.
They gotta do something about that flat part, because it’s painful.
This lift is now removed and a Leitner-Poma high speed six pack with a direct drive is under construction.
For a second, I thought person who made this vid passed me. Right after dad a little girl who fell. I always wear orange shell and black pants. But that guy has a helmet. I never wear.
*promosm*
best first and last run trail ever, every loafer knows that !!!
I think I'd be scared of Sugarloaf. Sunday River I've done.
I heard Saddleback is harder than Sugarloaf. Is THAT true?
I would say they are both pretty difficult!
I remember when it was a slow 2 seater. But little cloud was always where it’s at.
We did Chips Run all day on Monday May 6th, 2024 and it is not a blue run in some places. The visibility was pretty bad and there was tons of powder on Monday. The signage near the bottom isn’t as clear as to where chips run is located; maybe the visibility added to this difficulty of seeing the signs clearly. Couple runs we ended up on blacks that we didn’t want to be on. Overall not a bad trail. I would rate this the most difficult blue run in Utah. For expert to upper level intermediate skiers. Not a run for beginners or even intermediate skiers especially when it’s blowing 20 knots, snowing like a mofo, poor visibility and cold! That was the conditions on May 6, 2024!
Max speed in this recording is 970 fpm.
Chair to himself and skipped 1 🫤 ? Great bull wheel shot 😊.
Been on this trail many, many times. It's a great one.
I watch this to plan out my future runs. Thanks for the upload!
This lift is being replaced by a high speed quad.
Sadly I’m finished with skiing for the season, but this season has definitely been one of several IKONic ski seasons!
at least it is no longer 10-12 minutes for 5!
At the time this lift was installed, it was actually Vail's first high speed six pack.
I really enjoy your videos! It's so nostalgic! I loved going to Breckenridge back in the days! There's so much more, which wasn't there at the time. I did get to ski some of Peak 7-when it was expanding, but I haven't touched Peak 6, which is gorgeous and looks like so much fun! There's so much more to ski and ride now! I miss this place so much! It has been decades since I've been there! I sure hope I can go back someday . . . 🎿🏂
Not crowded that day, but normally a 2 minute run down the mountain and a 15 minute, or longer, wait in the lift lines.
Bananas was my mother’s favorite run growing. Now that I’m much older , I enjoy it too , when it comes to cruisers. Gad 2 is a good mid day lift.
This is actually one of my favorite trails, Not many people ski it and its a great warmup run. The only con about it is the crappy lift down there, the north quad, which stops all the time.
I like when ski resorts build detachables for beginner areas. This lift could've gotten away with having no footrests because it's so short.
Nothing thrilling on this run, but I do recommend to anyone who loves this sport to go to Utah. If you are an old established person, take a week to ski Alta/Snowbird. If you are a young person, take a season a do Alta, Snowbird, Brighton, Solitude, Deer Valley, Snow Basin.
This lift just had its last day and is officially going to be removed. A new Doppelmayr fixed-grip quad with a loading conveyor will replace this lift.
A decrepit lift servicing a decrepit hill. I’ll never go back.
How good is Jackson Hole? That one’s on my bucket list!
It is fantastic, one of my favorites!
Beautiful trail!
