Cannon Mountain 3/24/2024 DJ's Tramline

Cannon reported 30" of snow at the top. I knew DJ's would be open for the first time this season. I got 2nd row parking at 7:15am. Waited a bit for the lifts to start and met Craig on the first lift up. Then lost him on the first run down to the tram. Halfway up the tram ride I turn around and there's Craig again. He was the last one on the tram. We start discussing some glades and we see people coming down DJ's. I said "We need to hit this first."
Dj's isn't always open every year and the last time I skied Dj's was in 2019. This time it was better. We got some fresh tracks down and I could send it off just about anything. It was AWESOME!
We got on the 3rd tram and on our way up there had to be about 30-40 people trying to make their way down DJ's. When we went down Dj's there was no body else on it all the way down. It was time to hit some off piste stuff now.

this my friend is what dreams are made of. Skiied it two times that day. One probably 10am good coverage but no freshys. second time it was normal rocky dj's. All i can say is you skiied the best conditions i have EVER seen dj's and probably will EVER see dj's. Good job.

Thanks! It was so awesome! We hit DJ’s at 9:20 and I think only a few people and ski patrol had been down it.

I usually like to get a few warm up runs in before I start sending it. It was a lot for 2nd run of the day.
Woo yeah!
It always cracks me up when eastern skiers get a few inches of powder.

This day was not a few inches of powder - it was like 2 feet in a day. Absolutely incredible, will never forget it.

Awesome run! Thank you for sharing it. I have looked at that run many times while on the Tram and wondered what it would be like to ski it. Dude you need to do some cardio!!!! Your breathing sounds like you're in the Rockies not at Cannon 😂

Yes, at 51, I definitely need to do more cardio. 2nd run of the day… I didn’t really get to warm up before DJ’s. I usually do helmet cam and didn’t realize how much more sound the chest cam picks up. 😆

I'm waxing my grass skis right now... lol I'm having surgery on April 25th for a cut tendon on my middle finger, that I did around the holidays. If there's grass before that, I'll have to mow it.

I hit it late Monday. I'm a permanent intermediate with packed out liners and I have a ginormous bruise to prove it. Big shout out to Lloyd who paired up with me for safety 🤘🍻🏔️. I'll get there sooner " next time " for sure!

Hitting DJ’s asap is key. We were lucky to get it as good as it was.
