Thank you for watching. Yes, it was quiet to say it was near a built-up area. 👍

Wow Andy the landscape looks amazing :) i loved walking through the trees with you! some of them are so tall! Its got all those amazing cool autumn colours and then when you come out through the open field it looks so pretty! The tower looks so cool in the middle of the field like that!

Thank you. It was an unplanned walk. Once I climbed the first little hill, I thought I'm heading towards that tower as I've seen it from far so many times but never been over for an explore. Thanks for coming along. 👍👍

Nice video. As a kid in Stafford in the 1960s, I could see Pye Green tower from where I lived. We called it Cannock Tower. One of 14 concrete towers, of which 7 are in this design. Originally part of the "Backbone" network of communication arrays, to keep communication going post nuclear attack - Cold War stuff. It links in the chain with BT Tower in Birmingham to the south, and Sutton Common near Macclesfield to the north. I am in north Notts now, and I see from your video that pretty much most of the microwave dishes and horn dishes have gone - digital and fibre optics having rendered them obsolete. Pye Green doesn't broadcast tv, but it does broadcast radio.

Thank you for watching and commenting. I thought the tower was looking a bit bare near the top. It's the first time I've seen it close up. I've only ever seen it from the motorway or walking over Cannock Chase. I've only ever seen the Birmingham one and London, I do recall seeing something similar near Beaconsfield from the M40. We used to call it Cannock Chase Tower, not everyone, just my family. All the best, Andy

I've seen the one near Macclesfield, when I travel from Retford to Sandbach/Holmes Chapel/Middlewich to see friends, I go via Chesterfield, Buxton, and Congleton. The tower is a few miles before Congleton, on the A54. Which editing software do you use/recommend, Andy?

@666palerider I use an app called Power Director, only because it's quite easy to use, I'm not very tech savvy. Edit my footage on my phone. I like it but I've nothing to compare it to. 👍👍

Hi Andy you did a lot considering it was an unplanned walk ! Interesting that this mound was a former colliery spoil heap made up of 1000s of tonnes of mine debris from over 50 years from one of the largest mines in the Midlands! Such a lovely area too and that fun park memorial was good to see and so was the Pye Green Telecom Tower which you said was one of only a few built of reinforced concrete . These places were really interesting and St Thomas Church was beautiful. Thanks for another lovely tour :) ~ Anna 👍

Thank you, Anna. I filmed that a few weeks back, and it was quite random. I went on a drive around and remembered the mound and then just went off in search of the tower. I have seen it many times on Cannock Chase and from the motorway, so I just decided to try and head that way. Thank you for watching. I'm back in Wales next Saturday but not on the coast path. 😀
