100% agree with you. I’m from the UK to and I’m currently studying and I wanna become a sports analyst and it’s a passion come from my love of sports but the way in which the American broadcasters discuss sports is what has really pushed me. My hope is one day I can be in a position to present an idea like Skip and Shannon undisputed or First Take to a UK broadcaster. I know we have things like MOTD and Soccer Saturday and things like that but we don’t have anything like a proper debate show or even the way analysis is with all that passion and charisma; I want to be able to bring that.

Facts is that Golovkin was the champion and had to be knocked out in order to be dethroned. I’m guessing that the judges failed to give the win to Alvarez the first time around so now that there is a unanimous decision, he didn’t have to knock out GGG to be Champion. What’s next? The Nevada Athletic commission will allow their boxers to take PEDs so long as it’s their fighters. What goes in Vegas ... stays in Vegas!

If GGG wanted to stay undefeated, he should have not let the first several rounds slide the other way... It is as simple as that. it is always easier to remember the 2nd half of the fight, it sticks in your head more. But by losing several of the earlier rounds, he ensured that all Canelo had to do was win just a couple AT ANY POINT regardless of what rounds they were. At the end of the day, whoever wins the most rounds wins. And the beginning rounds are just as important as the ending rounds, they are just easier to forget as you get caught up in the action as the fight progresses. Canelo won several of the first 6 rounds, easily the majority. GGG did indeed win a majority of the 2nd half of the fight, but he did not win every round. Canelo was able to slide a couple more rounds his way in the 2nd half, and that is what made the difference. I had NO PREFERENCE during this fight, i love both fighters. But at the end of the day, Canelo won more rounds total. And that is what matters. Not who wins certain rounds by how much, not by who looks more impressive in those rounds, and not who lands bigger punches in those rounds. A round won is a round won, unless it is a 2 point round, it doesnt matter if they barely won or if they absolutely won. Canelo won more rounds. However, GGG looked better in the rounds that he won... But he lost too many in the beginning, and that fucked him in the end. Simple as that.

GGG threw more punches and landed more. He tried to show his defense more obviously/exaggeratedly this time because judges were counting all sorts of punches for Canelo last time when they were actually blocked or missed. So now everyone sees how GGG truly parries, blocks, slips many of his opponents' punches. Canelo wanted to control the pocket this time so GGG circled and hopped back to avoid the counter punching but he always came back into the pocket. Unlike how Canelo ran around the ring in the first fight, what GGG did in this fight is not the same. In this fight GGG was never on the ropes being pounded. Canelo was on the ropes backed up by GGG a few times. It's funny how Canelo fans say their guy wins each and every time Canelo changes his style and says that's what makes him win. When he runs he wins, when he just stays in the center, he wins. This was about money. Last fight GGG won. This fight I would say was close enough to be seen as a draw though I had GGG winning by easily a round. If GGG won then Canelo's career would been on a more difficult path. GGG would have taken his belts to other arenas - MSG, England for Billy Joe Saunders, and Japan to go belt hunting. Canelo only likes to fight in Vegas. Follow the money people and you follow the victories and the belt. Now all the contenders will have to come to Vegas to fight Canelo. Are we understanding better?! I'm done with boxing.

It was a tie and I'm a Canelo fan... but no chance GGG won that either, he was taken to school for at least the first half of the fight and Canelo withstood a late comeback... no chance GGG deserved the win either because of a late flurry. Canelo wasn't exceptional himself, he landed less but had better quality shots, agian like the first fight.. except this time he came aggressive. For me it was a draw, and if there was a winner it was slightly Canelo... if you give this fight to GGG then you possibly couldn't argue a Canelo win in part 1 either tbf... Canelo could have been argued a winner in part 1 because of defensive skill and excellent counter ability, something GGG did in part 2.

Great fight! I was leaning towards GGG this fight but I had some doubts due to some close rounds that I thought could go either way. I think what happened is that GGG won some very clear and obvious rounds... but then there were a whole lot of rounds that could have gone either way. So I guess I just had a feeling that with GGG's obvious rounds and having even just half of the contested rounds he would be the winner. But he could have easily lost all those contested rounds in the judges eyes so I guess I can understand the scores. Either way a very close and good fight. I think the discussion revolves around the old point of higher volume vs higher power shots? (it was clear that GGG landed MANY more jabs and quick punches but in my eyes Canelo landed many more hard shots both to the body and head)
