I did these in Saturday for a “Friendsgiving” event. And the sweet potatoes were GONE within 15 mins and I made two pans OMG they loveeeeeeed it. Thank you again Mrs. Gina ❤️

I find that the canned sweet potatoes are not "stringy. " For pies also.

Gina, I made this exact recipe last Thanksgiving. The only thing is I used King syrup. My grandmother and mom used that growing up. I have adapted to short cuts in using candy potatoes verse fresh. I still do fresh but this recipe is so delicious. Thank you so much Gina!!

Hey Gina did you pour off liquid from sweet potato in can . Or you just kept liquid in can pour in tin pan.

I make my candied sweet potatoes the exact same way, but with a little vanilla.

I realize that a lot of people don't use canned sweet potatoes in their recipe. I don't neither... However, it's ok to learn a new recipe... Gina knows how to cook southern candied yams...... Come on.... Gina is a GREAT COOK. If you don't like that she uses canned potatoes in this recipe...its ok, but don't throw shade just because you disapprove.... Just move on. Lisa Brown not a silly question at all because I definitely was wondering the same thing... so I didn’t include the juice. I just dumped the cab into a strainer and separated the juice from the yams and followed the recipe.

Gina,you have the same recipe that my Mom taught me. The only differences is, mix the ingredients in a bowl and pour it over sweet potatoes and butter.

Hi Gina! Your food looks amazing! Do you strain the juice off of both cans of yams first to reduce the liquid before adding butter, syrup, cinnamon, and nutmeg? I think I’m going to try this and surprise my mom since I don’t cook I just “fix” ☺️. But imma cook with this here recipe!
