Related. Late Pope Benedict XVI instituted the Anglican Ordinariate in the same week he beautified St. John Cardinal Newman. He and Henry Cardinal Manning left Anglicanism and converted to Catholicism ⛪. Both were promoted to bishops. Pope Francis canonized Newman. Candace Owens complained about subdivisions within Protestantism. One joke relates to her quandary: 2 Protestants debated each other. That resulted into 4 denominations! L 🤣 L. This echoes the synoptic Gospels, Matthew 12:25 - 12:29, Luke 11:17 - 11:22 and Mark 3:23 - 3:27 the Gospel reading in the Catholic Mass today Sunday 9 June 2024. A house divided does not stand -- Jesus. Here today, that house is Protestantism.

Thanks. For a minute there I was afraid no one converted - or returned - for a year or more. All I want to do is return, sit in the back of the Church, participate in the sacraments, live an exemplary life for the next 73 years. I need the next 73 years to make up for these last 73 that I totally screwed up. I’m fine with Mass in the vernacular. I do not want to sing in the choir, go on a mission, or tell the Pope how to be Catholic.

@@TheWrensHouse You brought up the Mass. Do you know that it's well documented that when the host is dropped or found that the proper way is put it in water and let it dissolve. The thing is many times it turns into a small clot of blood and tissue. This has gone on for centuries even Pope Francis has one and he sent to a laboratory to have tested came back with blood type and that had heart tissue in it under stress. The thing is our scientific ability have excelled to point that you can clone if have complete DNA base pairs to implant in egg cell. I would think with heart tissue you would have DNA chromosomes to do that. We also have Mitochondria DNA that is power house for cell that we all get from mother or Jesus would gotten from his Mother. Now Mary is supposed to be immaculate conception so if had blood clot and heart tissue there would be some DNA of Saint Anna Mary's Mother also involved? Thank you for summarising this for us. As a new Christian (with a completely secular upbringing) who is now leaning towards Catholicism, I have one question that I would love to ask. How do I verify the authenticity and historicity of the claim that Catholicism is the Church started by Jesus Christ? How do I know this for certain? Where do I start looking for answers? Is it even possible to find an undeniable link? Historians (secular and Christian alike) will widely agree on the historic claim that Jesus died by crucifixion and then rose again three days later. Do these same historians unequivocally agree that Jesus also started the Catholic Church and it has been passed on apostolic-ally until today???? Much love to you all 🤍🌸

Kathleen, I don't believe Peter ever went to Rome, and he died long before Rome started their "religion", so how did he become the first pope? I believe people should do a little research and use some common sense. Jesus started the "Christian" church, not the "Catholic" church. See Acts 11:26.

Matthew 16:18 : "And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hell will not overcome it." -> In greek Peter name means rock. He is the Rock on which the Chuch of Christ is builded. And Jesus promised it will prevail until the end of times. John 21:15-17: "When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, 'Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?' 'Yes, Lord,' he said, 'you know that I love you.' Jesus said, 'Feed my lambs. 'Again Jesus said, 'Simon son of John, do you love me?' He answered, 'Yes, Lord, you know that I love you.' Jesus said, 'Take care of my sheep. 'The third time he said to him, 'Simon son of John, do you love me?' Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, 'Do you love me?' He said, 'Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you.' Jesus said, 'Feed my sheep.'" -> Resurrected Jesus ask Peter to takes care of His Church. In his book "Against Heresies" in 180, Saint Irene of Lyon wrote the perfect apostolic succession of the 13 Popes until then since Peter.

I’ve never been a Protestant. I was born into a catholic household, baptized and made my first communion. After that and when I grew up I started reading the Bible. A douay version. It was purely catholic. It had the apocrypha which I read. I one day went into a Christian book store and bought a commentary on the book of John. This book helped me realize that being born again into the body of Christ is how you get salvation. It’s not mass or confessing to a priest that grants forgiveness. It’s confessing to God through Jesus Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit that you get forgiveness. There’s no purgatory as taught by the Catholic Church. Purgatory was instituted by the CC to bring money into the CC’s coffers by having the living pay for prayers offered by priests. Peter was never a pope but an elder. Mary did not know her husband Joseph “TILL” she brought forth her firstborn Son, Jesus. But all generations will call her blessed. Most Catholic’s are the product of different nation conquering Southwest America, South America, Puerto Rico, the Philippines and forcing them to convert. Just like what the Muslims did. The Jewish Bible DOES NOT have the added books to the Bible that the catholic bible has… There is no transubstantiation. That is also made up nonsense The just shall live by faith.

I was R. Catholic until I read the Bible and saw how Catholic doctrine contradicted it. There are teachings that did not exist, even in "seed form" (per Newman) for hundreds of years after Jesus was on the earth but which are now dogma and necessary to believe for salvation. This straw man argument about Protestants believing nobody was saved for 1500 years is ridiculous. Contrary to what Candace and other R. Catholics have said, the Reformers did not believe that there were no believers within the Catholic Church, but that Catholic doctrine had obscured the Gospel and made it difficult to know the true way of salvation. (And what is known today as the Roman Catholic Church is nothing like the early church at Rome, which for centuries was just a sister church, and not the leader of the Christian West.) Yet, when the Council of Trent anathematized anyone who believed that justification was by grace through faith, and that works played no part in God justifying a person, the R. Catholic Church basically repudiated the Gospel. R. Catholic apologists constantly quote the book of James where it says that a person is justified by works, but James is speaking about faith which is put into action through works, and which demonstrate that a person truly has been converted. James is not contradicting Paul who wrote that Abraham was justified before doing anything; Abraham simply believed God, and it was accounted unto him as righteousness. Even Luther said that we are saved by faith alone, but not by a faith which is alone.

How can the catholic church justify removing the commandment --> Exodus 20:4 KJV - Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: From their catechism on ten commandments?

Because context. When Moses went up into the mountain, the people began making a graven image (fake god), because as they did many times they started to lose faith and chose to worship some golden idol. The first commandment covers it. This is the commandment in its entirety. “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. You shall have no other gods before[a] me. You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments." There is no reason to break this into two commandments because what God is saying is, worship is reserved for him alone. He is God, the only God. Therefore, when he said "You shall have no gods before me." That sums it all up. He went on to emphasize the graven images so the people that had done it when Mose's was up in the mountain, would know that God knew what they had done, and does not permit it. Which was their worship of the golden calf as a god. For those who think Catholics "worship graven images", cannot otherwise be convinced to understand because, to begin understanding means to harvest a desire to end misunderstanding.

Who are these "bad people" who promoted the concept of Christians dividing and dividing and dividing. Candace is very intelligent and usually has very good answers. This one - not so much. And why do Americans influence her thinking about Protestantism when Protestantism itself pre-dates the United States by 250 years? Also, I undertook about 30 years ago to study the early church fathers (i.e., Ante-Nicene). When I read them, I do not see any talk of Mary being immaculately conceived, sinless, perpetual virgin, or Queen of Heaven. I do not see any examples of church fathers praying to saints or promoting the idea. I do not see any discussion of indulgences. I see no mention of a Pope. I see no mention of transubstantiation. So to become a student of history (Ante-Nicene) in *NOT* necessarily to be Roman Catholic. There are numerous things I see in the modern Roman Catholic church that I do not read in the Ante-Nicene church fathers writings. "Our agreement with antiquity is far greater than yours, but all that we have attempted has been to renew the ancient form of the church ... [that existed] in the age of Chrysostom, and Basil, among the Greeks, and of Cyprian, Ambrose, and Augustine, among the Latins."
