Going through similar, and getting trauma-therapy + learning Healthy Boundaries, because the abuse & neglect I grew up with had my brain and nervous systems etc. all feeling unsafe & unfamiliar with valuing my own well-being & quality of life as equal to others, including being violently conditioned to people-please and appease as Survival Instinct coping. 50 yrs later, trying to gapfill & heal lots that was denied unnaturally... Thankfully lots of online support communities have ppl sharing the same, of all ages and walks of life, even ppl in their 80s and even doctors and therapists... Helps me feel more self-compassion for not getting to better sooner, with so many of us going through these reclaiming & late-blooming/ healing later in life. 🙏

This is exactly where I am now. I know intellectually I have worth, but I'm not believing it. It has paralyzed me. I am healing from many things, but this is the crux of it all. I feel caught between 2 lives: a beautiful future I can see for myself and the old with the toxic ex living in my head. I'm also emotionally worn out by a divorce that's gone on for over 4 years. Praying I can make the shift.
