It is great news. There ought to be a moratorium on migrants (temporary and permanent) for the next few years. Canada is being inundated by foreigners the majority being not the best quality.

The purpose was to study and that is what is indicated while applying for a student visa. PR is not a right, it never was. It was a possibility. Possibility (or more correctly: probability) is not absolute, or given, even if you wish so. Laws might change again in the future. Country after country is tightening on immigration. So, unless you are very highly educated and ready to assimilate (adopt the culture in spirit, not just live there for clean streets and money), staying in your home country is the best. India, in spite of its everyday problems, has some many good sides , many positives (I wouldn't mind living there). It is not the Middle East or Sub-Saharan Africa. As a mental health counsellor/psychotherapist, I can only stress the value of taking all aspects into account, especially looking at if it is worth putting one's mental health in jeopardy, ending up in debt depression, disappointment and despair. Not meaning to be "negative", just sharing freely what I'm thinking. Finally, when protests are held, these should be carried out in a dignified way. Indians have, so far, had a very good reputation, but this whole Canada thing might change that. I hope that doesn't happen. Peace and Love.

Canada has, for decades, been in the top 10 of safest and least racist countries on planet Earth. Plus prosperous. Now there is a new negative spin that most Canadians do NOT deserve to a high degree. People must look at both sides. Since 2020, international students have been flocking to a educational system that many Canadians now feel was used by many of them as a loophole-to-immigration. Students utilizing schooling as a back-door (not front-door) ticket to living in Canada. Swarming a 50+ year tradition/system that was not not NOT designed to be about EVERY international student INSISTING on receiving Permanent Residency. Plus it was not designed to be primarily about students demanding lengthy work permits (& spouse permits etc.). Canadians have clued in that Canada's post secondary education system has (in 5 years time) turned into what many are now jokingly calling EDUGRATION. An extreme not approved by everyday Canadians. What about Ghost Consulting that Canada told India to halt? Canadians want foreign $ greedy agents to stop marketing & lying to their own people about access to PR or citizenship … or accommodation/jobs … in places like Canada being relatively easy. At best there is a 20% chance of PR (unless their career is in HIGH demand). And what about all the YT videos that primarily Indian nationals have posted (for half a decade now including today) all advertising Canadian PR like they're selling a product? Advertising Canadian visas & permits & schools & jobs etc. etc. (all with the goal of more from Canada). Videos not only posted hourly but also 99% not in English or French. With very rare input from Canadian-born citizens. Plus Canada didn't have numerous PRIVATE 'diploma mills' until 40% of international students were from India. Coincidence? Mills that Canada is shutting down. AND the bulk of them are near Brampton Ontario and Surrey B.C.. Coincidence? Canada is now compelling ALL schools to report to Immigration whether a student is attending school and complying with permit requirements or not. Were Canadian public colleges & universities greedy too (while more honest)? Sure. But the Canadian government stepped in and slowed them down too (like a trustworthy government should). Are most international students truly scholars who came to Canada with enough $ to support themselves while STUDYING? Or economic migrants, who borrowed $ to buy their way closer to the head of the immigration line? To say all the students or their consultants back home have not been at times 'gaming' Canada's education programs to gain western PR or $ is ridiculous. Students must have seen how all western countries are being besieged by all time high MASS migration, yet they came anyways. Students have contributed to Canada's housing CRISIS because 98% conspire-to-outstay a temporary permit. Because their country is often lacking more??? Canada wants to help people, but not when it contributes to a home unaffordability and a recession. If 36,000,000 Canadians travelled to India, since 2020, with the goal of being able to stay there permanently, that would raise India's population by 2.65%. Recent asylum seekers crossing into Canada… and international students... have raised Canada's population higher than 2.65%. More needing healthcare too (affecting waiting times etc.). What about the IELTS spouses? Anchor babies? Fraud? False asylum claims? What about Canadian food banks & other charity services being recklessly advertised on YT in Indian languages? What about Canadian housing being scooped up en-mass as investment vehicles by/for internationals? Home rental/boarding signs stating "vegetarians only can apply". Indian nationals buying local businesses then putting Indians only in key positions (while also drastically changing work practices that include working more hours for less money). Plus BC & Ontario are outlawing the Caste System. Then throw in the Sikh vs Hindu violence/extortions across Canada. Diasporas stirring up tribal hatreds (in Canada) … even though it all stems from their ancestral home. How can peace be found anywhere with this in play? Plus the Canadian government recently launched investigations in regards to foreign interference in Canadian elections, stemming from Asia continent. Canada also had to end flagpoling at the border. In recent years, Canadians everyday are having to worry about their automobile being stolen by auto theft rings. For just one example of what Canadians see regarding this new concern, research; "arrests in connection with $9.24M Toronto-area auto theft ring". In addition research; "Gold stolen in Canada's biggest ever heist ended up in India". Plus "Toronto police arrest 12 people, lay 102 charges in major credit card fraud scheme". Plus major global scams involving foreign call centres. Canadians are so so so not used to all this. So many, who have embraced multi-culturalism and immigration for decades are now worried/fearful. All are praying it doesn't turn into anger. Canadians want multi-culturism to succeed and for all people (including immigrants) to be okay. Everyone I know is VERY happy with IRCC's recent changes (reductions & multifaceted investigations etc.). Including multi-generational long-term Asian Canadians MOST upset (by all of this). Canadians are aware that some wonderful students/humans are going through hell. And know Canada is partially to blame which is awful. But Canada decides what needs to be done in Canada to prevent further pains. Do you see Canadians protesting in other countries (that is not their own) making demands for themselves? No. Do Canadians now see primarily Indians protesting in Canada making demands? Yes. Protesting because they don't have the credentials to stay in Canada. And because rules designed to protect CANADA are not meeting their desires/demands. And why isn't there large crowds of African or Caribbean or Filipino or Mexican etc., students protesting & waving their flags? They're in Canada too. Did international students and their families pay into Canadian taxes ALL their lives like domestic students have (earning cheaper tuition fees)? No. Did Canada force internationals to move to Canada as a STUDENT? No. Did Canada promise/guarantee PR? Or a job? No & no. Yet do they only blame Canada when they can't get PR??? PS: Modi hugging Putin in Moscow hours after Russia bombed a Ukrainian children's hospital isn't helping. Largest Ukrainian diaspora is in Canada.

Now even if some student gets a trade course but a lot of children do that same , some of them won't get PR after 5 years. The Canadian government should first and foremost ban them because half of the jobs are taken by these seekers evehtough they don’t have any qualifications or credentials and our hard earned money of which we are paying taxes is going for their families. I am happy. Students miss use student visa . They just want yo earn and get PR coming on student visa. One should only get student visa if genuinely wats to study and have enough money. After he should go back. If you want to work and earn. Apply for work permit directly and get PR . Canada will be better place without this types of students.

Koi vaat nahi lagti Indian mein. While I agree with you on the rising difficulty with PR, please stop spreading rumors on returning back to India. I know many people who have come back to India from Canada and are doing very well. Your years of experience and exposure comes in handy in India. Yes you wouldn't get a red carpet on your return but within 6-12 months things get better. Allow next 15-20 years and you will be super proud of your decision to return to India. I can give you my personal example having returned to India twice. You don't need a visa to come home. It is not worth wasting your youth waiting for PR when back home Indian economy is doing well and growing.

Koreans/Chinese that get education and experience canada are going back to their country's and reflecting, all the good they have received from canadian education system and apply education and experience in there lifetime.
