Two points to be noted when anyone uses maqamaat: 1) follow the tajweed rules 2) doesn't distract you from pondering over the Quran to the melody of the tune

So it's all about priority. 1. Recite with right intention. 2. Follow tajwid. 3. Learn to connect with Quranic language to ponder about the messages. 4. Beautifying my own natural tune. Is it correct?

Maqaamat is permissible. All major Quran reciters mastered their own maqaamat and even created their own tones. Does that make it haram? No it doesn’t. Dot example if you listen to sheikh Maher you can see he goes with the same flow not coming up with it. In certain times he changes it depending on the meaning of the verse. That’s maqaamat. You don’t have to go to music class to study maqaamat just like no music class needed to beautify one voice to learn the Quran.

As-Salaamu Alaikum brother. Honestly, if you make an effort to learn proper tajweed (if you do not already) you'll find that your recitation will already be beautified. You can always apply to melodious sound as long as you stay within the limits of the rules of tajweed. Reciting the Qur'an within the bounds established by Allah and His Messenger is where the blessings lies. May Allah bless you and reward you. Allah knows best.

Once a person focuses on the meanings of the ayat, the melody will come automatically ❤❤

I listen to recitation with Maqam Ajam it truly connects with the meaning, I do not listen to music. Qari follows rules of tajweed. The example shown in this video not a well known Qari, for sure there are some people who do not have good understanding of the science of maqamat.

I strongly agree with the point in this video. 'Trying too hard' reciting in maqamat is simply distracting for listeners. But on a side note, Sheikh Bandar Baleela, one of Imam of the Haramain actually does vary his recitation of Quran during prayer with certain type of maqamat, but in an appropriate manner way, i think. His way of reciting, actually give depth of the ayat, really beautifying it, without distracting listeners from the meaning of what's being recited. This of course, only my opinion. Salam. 😁

There is also cheikh Mahmoud Khalil Husayry, I confirm all my acqired tajweed rules with him, with the channel noor international, they have the whole Quor’an with a french translation ,key word: translation of the sens of the verses... try to find it in english, if not there is anyway the arabic writing to follow. Best wisdom and clarification of whether Maqamat is Sunah or not. Permissible/mustahab or haram. Anything that distract you to ponder the word of Allah is not permissible. Remember Allah ordered us to be silent while we are listening the Quran. Why? To porder over it and deeply to understand it. Jazaakumullaahu khayr brother.

Yang buat video mengaji ni, ilmunya bagus. Tapi dia ni memang dalam pengaruh Wahhabi. Semua benda bida'ah. Ada ke dikatakannya semua lagu-lagu tu bida'ah yang haram. Benda dah dipersetujui oleh ulama-ulama silam. Tiba-tiba orang dengan pengaruh logik Barat dan Wahhabi terus isytihar 'HARAM'.

"Dia" sekadar beri "isyarat" atau "catalyst" supaya "kita" boleh pi "serching" thru any "internet sources", "whether" it's "haram" or just to say "bid'ah". But, it's confirmed.."tarannum" it's not the "qur'annulilmum" instead of "tilawah..qira'at..tajweed..tadabbur..etc.".

@@tanjong2021 tarannum ini sudah masyhur. Memang di baca dengan tarannum walaupun di negeri Arab Saudi yang Wahhabi pun. Memang jelas dia berkata 'haram' pada tarannum. Di samakan dengan not-not musik, di samakan dengan belajar muzik. Memang kerja Wahhabi begitu. Di seluruh dunia ajaran Saudi Wahhabi merebak. Jika jelas yang bawa lagu itu adalah lagu-lagu moden, maka itu adalah jelas lagu Bida'ah. Kalau semua bidaah, tajwid, ushul fiqh, ushuluddeen, mustolahul hadith, nahu, sorof, semua bida'ah lah. Tiada zaman Rasulullah SAW dan sahabat.

​@@Lzali10469 it is easy for you to say you naturallly learn maqamat by listening to different maqamats everyday without attending class. Those maqamats you hear are around you everyday. What about those who aren't hearing them everyday? I'm from Malaysia. I hear Malaysian maqamat. How about Indonesian maqamat? Korean maqamat? Chinese maqamat? Hawaian maqamat? Those natural maqamat for those people . Isn't it? So they can use their natural maqamat when reciting quran?

جزاكم الله خيرا I've bn thinking about learning the melody for years but nvr have the chance to start the class. I signed up for tajweed lessons and arabic lessons to understand the Qur'an instead. After listening to your explanation, I am more convinced I'd made the right choice. الحمد لله..

Of course tajweed comes first and Arabic lesson 100%. But to beautify we should practice are vocals and melody after understanding the tajweed and Quran

every reciter naturally falls under some maqamat. the word maqamat is used for understanding mostly, It is like the pitch of someone speaking something in low and high. if you can scream high your natural tone of speaking gets altered to a higher pitch, Maqamat is simply just that. The recitation every reciter do eventually due of their difference voice and tone style or pitch they naturally got. So if anyone tries to imitate any other imam or reciter, the tone gets altered. It is so saddening some have various misconception about maqamat and compare it with music. It is due the lack of understanding of how our vocal is made. It is another wonder of Allah and to think how blessed and beautiful we are created. You can't make something beautiful without trying and no matter what you will eventually have to follow some instruction. Our prophet told us to recite beautifully, It's such sadness how the beautification of Maqamat that is natural are misunderstood. May Allah guide those people to some knowledge that turn people to wrong without even knowing.

@@M7ner08 Stupidity has no cure, shush it if you are not capable of understanding it because some stuff are based on science, you surely go to doctor to not teach him thus not everything you are capable of understanding so don't make it haram. Music didn't invent the vocal or capability of vocal but it is Allah subhanallah wa tawala. Indeed there are many ahadith regarding beautifying voice which specifies more than just tajweed but some of you just want to make the religion hard because you lack the wisdom. Subhanallah, May Allah guide you!

Brother, that's not what he means when he says "musical" He means a melodious tone (with tajweed rules and a clear voice so it's soothing to the ears) not using literal musical instruments to make the Qur'an better, Astaghfirullāh. The brother made a mistake which caused a misunderstanding, May Allāh guide us all, amīn.

Yoj are abdolutely right, once i was crazy to listdn to maaam nahawand it gives me sukoon but i noticed that it was not the meaning of quran but just the tune is so melodious, I noticed they exsgerate the maddaas too long specislly in azaan , Yes you are right we should recite in our iwn natural style like sahabas did
