"You can checkmate with a knight and a bishop" Yes, that is definitely a skill I have mastered.

If you can solve this puzzle you are definitely able to checkmate with N and B… I can’t….. both…..

I have checkmated with bishop and knight in an important OTB tournament when I was 9 years old :)
Saavedra's position is so fascinating! I amaze that you win when the materials are equal and how cool the transposition is

i havent seen such a good puzzle in a long time
6:16 Isn't that an example of Mitrofanov's Deflection?
That was definitely interesting. Thanx for posting videos like this.

Great teaching. thanks for sharing
Have you shown the Reti position with the white king on h8, white pawn on c6, black pawn on h5 and black king on a6? White to move and draw? Thanks and I really enjoy your videos. BTW, Mittens mopped me up in about 30 moves. I was 3 pawns behind and blundered a rook, oops!
Stockfish just allows C7 C8 Queen taking light bishop and the knight. Queen C3 > C4 into a Queen vs Rook endgame.
This was an amazing puzzle. I love how it was a unique and different kind of puzzle. I have never heard of a Saavedra Theme chess puzzle. Thank you for sharing it.
In the sideline Rxe4, what if we underpromote to a rook?

There's no checkmate threat on a7 anymore, and RNBK against RRK is a drawn endgame.
Wow that was amazing
amazing !!😉😉
in the saavedra position, black should just let white make a queen. he can hold a stronger resistance
And then he sacrifices THE ROOOOOOOOOK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Very nice
Superb...
And then he sacrifices THE KNIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And then he sacrifices THE BIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIISHOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Please make a video on horse and bishop endgame
'Chess "Puzzles" might not be your game'... fixed your sentence. There's definitely a different mindset in doing puzzles.
And then he sacrifices THE QUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEN!!!!!!!!!!!!
how do i submit puzzles 1 day i was just playing around with after game analyses and a really interesting position came after black moved there was a mate in 23 for white and i bet noyone can slove it without using stockfish
Link to the other Saavendra video?
Do you play duck chess? I see a duck on your chess board
4:48 Why dont you just give up on queen and knight c3 its actually winning move , if black takes queen bishop b2 (defended by the king) checkmate and if black takes knight its more easy one queen captures knight then black king has to move to a2 then queen b2 (againly defended by the king) and againly checkmate. If black moves rock to random square its not gonna work bishop comes and mate. if u see rock black has a awesome trick again rock sacrifice on b4 if bishop takes its stalemate then we have counter play thats bishop b2. Yeah i know its can br captured by rock but after rock takes we move our queen on a6 or a4 then rock has to block on a2 then we capture with queen. (Queen defended by the knight that on the c3)

You made quite a long comment for something he covered in the next 30 seconds.
6:42 Best move in black is Rf1 mate in 18.

Thank you tablebase/stockfish, but we humans care more about which wins are more clear and obvious than which one is the fastest. So it's not the best move for a human.
what gui is that
you should play until Martin wins
can someone please help me after Rd4 why not white move Kc3. The trick of check and taking the white queen doesnt work anymore because of after Rd1 white can move to c2

Rook will move back to d1, to try to skewer. Black will keep repeating to try to get perpetual draw

@@maycoral1224 yeah basically is the same position, for some reason i couldnt see it
Just take the 7-man tablase and extract longest wins from there. You're going to get tons of content.
I solved it :)

Rxc7 If white allows black to take the knight or the bishop, it is, at this point, at best, a draw, so the knight has to move somewhere else. Where? If Ne2, then why did you waste the move?
@danielyuan9862

Bb2 is unguarded in this position.
At 3:13 can’t black just play C4??? Which isn’t instantly a checkmate
@mysteryGuySaysHi
Жыл бұрын
just c4? without any piece notation, just a square denotion means its pushing a pawn to that square for eg. if a white pawn is on c2 or c3 n we push it to c4 we say c4. similarly if a black pawn is on c5 n we push it to c4, we say c4. else we need to say Nc4 or Qc4 or Rc4 or Bc4 or Kc4 or Nxc4 when we capture something on c4 with knight etc
@mysteryGuySaysHi
Жыл бұрын
also if u mean Rc4 then white rook or king captures it Rxc4 or Kxc4 n game will soon be won by white

Please use your brain. Nelson shouldn't have to cover every variation. Nelson said in the video you can take the rook if he tries to stop checkmate. This is not an exception.
