Holy cow, Laura! You just moved a huge vehicle, roughly the size of a small house, backwards from a crazy tight space! You are amazing, Sweetie Pie! ❤️

You can start small charcoal fires over your footing locations. Let them burn overnight and drill the next day
Off course you can´t toss a concrete bag like that, it will breake. Laura! Learning by doing! I love your channel, go on learning stuff, trial and error!
Those hole machines are great for finding underground electric lines and pipes. They are rock detectors too....... joe
That thing of making a utility trailer out of the back half of an old pickup truck never gets old. Love it.
Keep your youthful/playfulness with each other you two!!!!!!! Love to see it!!!!
Always enjoy watching you two! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Merry Christmas, you two. You guys kill it every video. Keep up the great work!
You guys work well together! Thanks for sharing!
Life never stops on the farm. Thanks for Sharing!😊
Very happy to see such a good work. Building things for our life is a great thing, working for it is even better, finally it all tends to bloomout slowly. Seeing such a gradual change in front of us is a heart touching feel in our life. You guys are really doing a great job keep going
Merry 🎉🎉🎉🎉Christmas Laura &Grant and all the members of both Your Families ❤❤❤
I love the background music that you play during the video. It’s calming and pretty cool. Keep doing that please!
You two are the Highlight of our day !! Gett r done before the snow flies !!👨🌾👍
you guys work so well together, great to see,I noticed scotty snuggling on the chair while you were washing the quad, he found a good home.
You nailed it Grant! Two days is spot on. Had a speed boat now two kayaks.
Laura, you must be one of the best drivers there are. When you were reversing that machine out of the shop, you didn't have much of a clearance, you look so small and a long way up in the cab. That container could be used for a repair shop. Getting your farm more organized, although it looks a tidy place already. Happy Christmas, Laura & Grant. Love from Mike. ❤
Laura and Grant have Merry Christmas keep working hard on Farm you and Grant are doing great job

You are by far one of my favorite KZreadrs Laura! I actually don't know much about farming, it has been excellent learning things! I've been following you for like a year. I love how authentic and upbeat you guys are 😊
A cool vid...yup froze ground doesn't drill too easy.. You 2 have got an awesome little place there.. Looking forward to seeing you develop it further!! Have safe Holidays 🙏!! C ya on the next vid 👍🧙♂️!

Merry Christmas, and good luck in 2023.
Park something heavy inside each end of the calving shed & tie the top to it with a heavy duty ratchet strap, or anything else that you can cinch down tight. That fuel tank would do one end if it has much in it.
Merry Christmas Laura and Grant!!!! :-)

That's nothing, I used to have to get up every two hours in Korea, go down to the motor pool, start all our platoon vehicles and run them to prevent the blocks from freezing. That's what the Army calls cold starts.
You guys are the best on KZread just for being genuine people
Yeah seems like it is clean up in the winter and spring time. It’s like we never have enough time to get it all cleaned up. Stay safe and warm.
Great off season project... I would like to suggest getting a consult on the size of the concrete pillars. The wind coefficient compared to those 8" post holes will result in that shed leaving with the concrete anchors
Ya Know, I've seen a lot of Beautiful Women in my 67 years, and dated a few, but Laura is top 1% no doubt, with a personality to match! Grant, you lucky dog.
Very nice save there Grant with the.. Good thing come in small packages.. Enjoy watching your channel never thought id being watch a channel like this Merry Christmas to you both and your family and a safe new year
When I cemented in the oilfield one of the tricks for clean up was to just let the cement freeze on the truck and when you got back to shop it would just come off super clean. Since we were cementing oil and gas wells it the actual cement job was bellow the surface point of freezing.
Great video Laura hope you and Grant have a wonderful and blessed Christmas 🎄

In Vermont we frequently pour concrete down to 10 degrees using accelerators and heated water. Then cover finished concrete slabs with poly and a layer of concrete insulating blankets.
You guys are a great couple. You do a good job and both work well together. We love your channel. Merry Christmas to you and your family. 👍❤️🙏🎄

I really like this content. Just watching your daily life is appealing to me.
Such a great team. Keep going.
Laura, if you can get some auger style stake and some steel cable you could secure the shed to the ground. This will hold until next year when the ground thaws. Then you can pour the support piers. Good luck!
Enjoy! 😆 We have a Nor'easter here in far northern NY State (Adirondacks). Expecting 12-18" Can't complain. It's been very mild until now.
hi laura i love when grant does inspections on things
wow, I have never known anyone who has as many toys as you guys. Enjoy your stuff, just be safe
It's not long this year, Merry Christmas ~🎈
You two are a great team!!
I like it how Scotty just chills there and watches you while you are washing the RZR.
so um Grant...how comfy is scotty's House? just asking for a friend lol. Love seeing you two work together wonder who the 2023 sponsor is🤔 UMC certainly got used this year and def a very appropriate sponsor with all the usual pivot chaos cant wait to see what this winter brings and super excited for spring
It’s smart to wait until it’s warmer. After testing and inspecting concrete for several years, concrete freezing when first poured is a bad jam. It’ll likely never reach strength and will be permanently compromised.
Good morning Laura. Have a great weekend!
Great video as always. Before tying down the parking shed, might trim trees overhanging it. Just a thought. I enjoy your videos!
It does my heart good to see 2 young people who actually love farming as y'all do, and added to that a young married couple who obviously love each other and enjoy working and playing together so much and so well!! I only wish I could've found myself a better woman for my first wife. I grew up on a farm, but unfortunately in the mid 80's my family lost our farm. I'm retired now, but still live in the country and get to help 2 different farmers with their farming operations. Farming is still in my blood! ☺
Love the video guys thank you !

Another great video, looks like your cat is doing its job since you didn’t see a mouse in the box container. Fun to watch your clean up projects.
Yes, if you put Calcium Carbonate (High Early) in it and have plenty of help to pour and finish it. And then cover it with plastic and insulating blankets to keep it from freezing while it cures. But I emphasize, have plenty of help because it will be hot coming out of the truck.
@RealMTBAddict
Жыл бұрын
Calcium is not the same as high early. And most city inspectors won't let you pour if it's below 38 degrees, they just raised it to 42 in my city. 42 and rising, not steady. We have codes for a reason. Blankets only do so much. If your concrete surface is freezing then it's too cold.
@RealMTBAddict
Жыл бұрын
High Early means there is a low water to cement ratio with PSI over 3,000. Calcium is completely separate.
@sterlingspencer2934

@Mountain Bike Addict Calcium Carbonate is not the same thing as Calcium and I prefer not to use it if possible!

@@RealMTBAddict high early uses more cement per yard and is usually type 3 along with a lower w/c ratio
One important item for drilling holes when things are frozen / A steerskid jack hammer for when things are frozen or a huge rock 2. A sawall to cut tree roots! Good luck!
The definition of a boat: a hole in the water into which you pour money. Good luck, and what fun it is keeping up with your marine fuel needs!

Coldest time to work with cement is constant 40* with burlap to cover after spraying treatment. 👌😉👍
Yeah the temperature is cold here in Martinsville Indiana too it's 33° right now and they're predicting snow this weekend so I think we might have a White Christmas Merry Christmas to you and Grant and your family's also blessings from Martinsville Indiana
What a great idea for fuel tanks. Ithink I will do that in the spring. Merry Christmas to your family, God Bless till next time.
I might have been alone when you tossed that initial bag of concrete, as in “OH MY GOD, NO!”, only to watch Laura watch from an instant lesson in many of life’s adventures, and add that (tossing of a bag of concrete) to the lessons of what not to do in order to achieve success. My hope is there was only a little which broke free from the bag. Hope the mess was not too much, as your follow-up guidance was worth a good chuckle. 😂

Yes pour concrete in winter, ad calcium.. Grant is correct on best 2 days of boat ownership most of the time. I found for me a Pontoon was the best boat, a floating patio with grill.
Enjoy your posts. Been watching for a while. You can place concrete, as it is technically a solid, so thus it is not poured. Freezing or not. Keep em coming. Merry Christmas.
My dad used to own a 30 ft San Juan. Once we took it down to San Francisco for Fleet Week and to watch the Blue Angles. We tried to anchor on the south (City) side of Alcatraz but do to the strong currents we lost the anchor before we could tie it off, so we had to just slowly motor up and down. It was a bit tricky due to all the other boats, but it got really hairy when the tide reversed. All of the anchored boats started bouncing off each other. I turned to my dad and suggested we rename the boat "Rick O'Shay"
The jug you found in the refrigerator that was labeled Seven Insect is just that. Seven is a brand of insecticide most commonly found as a dust that you sprinkle on your outdoor plants around your home (think flower/vegetable garden). next time you are in your local hardware store look for it and all your questions will be answered.
