@@jackalope_hunter It's about thinking which hands beat you. There's no quads, no full house (board doesn't pair), one straight flush, then A-high flush, K-high flush, etc. If you've got the A-high, only 1 hand beats you (so you've got second nuts). If K-high, only two hands beat you (third nuts). If you've got the K-high with 4 spades on the board, you have to think how likely it is that Robl has the A of spades or the 56 of spades.

Disciplined fold by Adams but he bet way too much on the river. It was pretty obvious Robl was chasing something. Either check call or put out a smaller blocker bet and then evaluate if you get raised.

Yeah. He still got a tad bit of value by eventually only giving Robl 4 to 1 on his turn call. But a river check/call to induce a bluff seemed better than trying to get the Q high flush to call down a triple barrel.

I had this exact issue the other day, I had a king high flush and opponent had it A high with a str fl draw on the board. I wasn’t able to fold it unfortunately

It's actually like raziel said, i was gonna say the same, its 3th nuts, 5-6 of spades is the nuts, then any ace flush then king flush, easy lay down with 4th spade , what else is robble gonna raise with pocket 10's ?...

I have a poker group of friends that have been playing against each other for years, its not that uncommon for someone to fold major hands knowing how their opponent plays big hands. 🤷‍♂️ Sometimes you just know your beat and have to lay down major hands. This isnt that crazy.

I feel that turn call with just the bare ace of spades was a bad one, given that Adams bet pot. Adams has to bet less than half pot for Robl to justify that call, so al in all a bad call, and Robl got lucky

You should have learned about implied odds in 2006

Adams had third nuts and it’s a fairly easy fold for an extra $100k against Robl, which is why he folded. I think Robl should have shoved, which might have looked bluffy.

Paying 1/2 on the turn to chase a 20% odd and getting a 90k extra bet on the river. He just fixed his odds (30 tobget 120 on a 20% draw). But still he should have get paid an extra 50k bad river size

It would have been more interesting if Robl jammed there. I think it would've looked more polarizing and might have gotten a call

Cuz 5 6 of spades makes straight flush it’s basically something you don’t see in poker it’s better than 4 of a kind (4 of the same)

4 spades on the table plus the Ace in hand. Only 5 cards between your hand and the table count. Ace-high flush always beats King-high unless the King-high is a straight flush.
