Can you do woodworking full time

In this video we go over the question "Can I do woodworking full time?" I go over some basic questions that I answered when I was making my decision to leave my 15 year and six figure career to do what I love to do as my occupation. This is no easy decision, so I hope that this video will give you all some insight and help you with your decision. Maybe you are ready to make the big jump, maybe you aren't. Either way it's ok. It took me 3 years to make the decision and it still wasn't easy. With a hole lot of prayer and a little bit of faith I made my decision and God has been blessing me every since! Good luck to everyone on their journey!

Enjoyed your video, thanks for being honest about your faith. It reminds me of a quote I heard "You must learn to walk to the edge of the light, and then a few steps into the darkness; then the light will appear and show the way before you." and a scripture from my own faith "Dispute not because ye see not, for ye receive no witness until after the trial of your faith" I'm currently self employed and I'm struggling with the decision to change careers or not, so thanks for sharing.

Insurance is the big one, I’ve been self employed for 30 years and always missed the state insurance I had before.

Nolan, Love the video and your courage to share your faith. Matthew 6:33 comes to mind, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” You story is so inspiring.

Thanks for the video Nolan! My woodworking business is slowly picking up steam. Right now I've been taking commissions from friends and family, usually giving them a bit of a discount so that I can build up a backlog of original designs to show future clients (mind you I still work full-time too).

Congrats on your faith, hard work and planning allowing you to do what you love full time! We are struggling with this at the moment with my husband. He is eligible to retire now and he would love nothing more than to join me full time in the shop, but giving up the security of insurance (with two teenagers) and some added pension benefits if he stays is making it tough for him to walk away. He’s got one foot out the door though 😂

I took a chance 6 years ago with a side gig that now is around 300K a year. Went full time 2 1/2 years ago, never looked back. As far as your doubts or things you missed, fix em! You have the power to change things. If the change doesn't yield results you like, put it back the way it was and keep thinking on ways to improve how you do it. Stagnation in business is usually the downhill slide. Good luck and keep making sawdust!

Great video dude! I’m so fortunate to have my military retirement, without it idk if I could deal with the stress of being full time not having a guaranteed paycheck. Amazing tips and great success story!
