Think these not bridges still “resemble” bridges. We need an episode of the ‘cheese it’ solutions that don’t resemble bridges at all. Mods to allow use of all construction materials allowed.

A draw bridge is still a bridge! If the parts touch contiguously from one side to the other, it's a bridge, if even for a moment
18 minutes and 17 seconds of RCE pointing at perfectly good bridges and saying "not a bridge."
So real bridges don’t actually connect to both sides as they have gaps in them for heat expansion… so actually these are just even more accurate bridges 🤯

depends on the definition of "connection". But if forces are transfered, you can call it a connection
I disagree with the ruling that wood/steel can connect anchor points on both sides to each other Personally, I think none of the structure should be able to connect the entrance to the destination Great video otherwise, I really enjoy adding arbitrary constrains as an additional challenge

Polly Bridge is the reason I started watching rce. Much love for these type of vids
0:37 What did you say!!!!! Sad Pady noises
really loved this gameplay of Polly 2
The other day I was watching a friend play a game, I do not know what game it was but they said it was a search and rescue game where you build boats and what not. But anyway, I sujested he built a bridge as his boat, so we spent making and upgreading this bridge, and compared it to some of his past boats and his friends best boats and the bridge was by far the best. Long story short, bridges make great boats.
Your intro reminds me of that 60's short A World Without Springs as seen on mystery science theatre 🤣
Love your videos, keep up the good work
13:04 "it gets a bit of a nudge by the BRIDGE" 😱 betrayal

Have I slipped into a alternate universe where bridges were invented much later or something? I don't know when they were invented in my timeline but I'm sure it was long before 1869.

"How close can I get to making a bridge, but it's not a bridge?" -Matt's Brain
Paddy keeps me interested in any sponsor you have. More paddy more paddy
I have an idea but you may have already done it. I started watching your videos relatively recently. Here’s my idea which sort of plays on the catch phrase of building bridges and evaluating bridges that you have on your show. What if you build a bridge which is supported by two cars, one for each support. And then drive that bridge over a bridge.
I thank god and u 4 making more videos of this
Challenge suggestions: try doing every level without using static joints.
was hoping he would say oh bullocks hahaha at 2:48
Have you seen or played any Stacklands yet? I feel like it's a game that lines up pretty well with your channel content pretty well and I'd love to see you give it a go!
Are all bridges not a bridges actually due to that spacing at each end for thermal expansion?
A draw bridge is two seperate paths unconnected that span a gap, thus you can infer all bridges you created with joint supports are draw bridges, the only way for you to not make it a bridge is for each platform to be supported indipendent from the other structures, any joining would create a flawed but whole bridge.
I love how half way though he just starts calling them bridges
I think the ones resting on the rocks would technically count as bridges as they connect two bits of land with road
Theoretically, "P" is for "peta-". So, the 1.5 Pg biker weighs in fact 10^15 grams, which is equivalent to 1 km^3 of water... This guy definitely has to cut down on fast food!

In this video, Real Civil Engineer discovers bridge expansion joints
All "truss me I’m an engineer" fan : "I’m going back to the bridge" ? I knew it !
Most of them are still bridges IMO. So far anyway
5:43, I say that IS a bridge since it's connected to both sides via the supports, that makes the supports themselves a bridge
I assume the sounds effects are added in? They're great
you know, I can accept that most of these are not a bridge but I feel like the structures that connect to both sides (like arches) supporting roads, with a small gap missing in one of the roads, is kind of a bridge at that point! I don't know why but i was half expecting this to just be a series about glitches XD
Never thought I’d see the day where you did this on ploy bridge, you should bring back the ak road cannon type edits back j for the OGs
Lol I like how the first second of the video shows the Tacoma Narrows Bridge when it was about to collapse in 1940 6 months after it was opened.
This is my first time watching one of these the day it was uploaded.

Alternate title: “building bridges but leaving a tiny one inch gap at the ends of them”
Congrats on 1mil!
Need to pair you up with MATN's 'Bridge Ballast' counter!
But Matt, real bridges have gaps in them too. Pretty sure I learnt that on this channel in fact! Does this mean real bridges are also NOT bridges? :O
I love the idea of a society of people engineering pathways that almost get you somewhere but end just before or make you jump between paths, instead of connecting
Surprised sping cannons or falling roads didn't appear
I never thought of an engineer looking up what a bridge is in Google lol
3:05 The stress is high, but it's holding on
Yay, more Poly Bridge 2!
I knew it, RCA has been replaced by NotRCE a while ago, hence the foray into architectural video!
This is how an architect design bridges
I havent played since the start of the game (then they fixed falling roads somewhat so the game wasnt as fun for me) but back then it would have been a piece of cake!
I would argue that any piece of building material that connects to different land masses would constitute a bridge, even if there isn't road connecting the 2 masses. For example, at 5:09 that is a bridge because the steel touches both sides.
Thanks RCE, I’m here for the laughs 😂🤣🙈
is a boat long enough to be driven on from the bow to stern and grounded on a sandbar a bridge? because it technically can be tied to a dock and then it might be a bridge
also u can help people make briges in other games too
Man was smart to have his dog in the sponsor section
