It's amazing that more people don't know that Final is spelled with a bear trap.

Fun fact: Since your loss condition was "A single monster card on your side of the field at any point", Exodia would've also been a valid win condition.

True though you are, the Exoida cards cost much more deck capacity, so I wouldn't have been able to use them out the gate, or as freely with all my other cards. Also, like I mean come on, that FEELS wrong, right? LOL

The first rule says "no using monster" and the last is "no monster in the deck"

I love the abridged card descriptions on the screen, especially as they get more deranged as you go on

"Following the destruction of Girl, Yugi actually starts to brick as he starts spending turns playing sweet F.A." I am now imagining Yugi playing F.As, and the mental image of this ancient pharaoh going fast to feel alive amuses me greatly.

In case you were wondering why tribute summoning was almost never considered good, refer to 30:22 in this video for an example of one of the reasons

Never thought I'd see destiny board being used. Granted, it makes sense that it would only reasonably win in a video game. Also calling life point granting cards powerful is like calling paper bulletproof. It pains me hearing you say star instead of level.

The fact that the final boss made you change up your strategy almost entirely made this an epic to behold. Think I ended up using Kuriboh + stall spam to get the god cards out the second I got Obelisk, and was just tributing for high level stuff before that.

Ahhh... such a fun video. Your guys channel is sooo underrated. And after being her since first DeSu video, (which obviously stands for Devil Summoner), I think I can speak about your quality.

Awesome. I played this game alot and to see it beaten this way is incredible. Great video, and good choice of music. The final part of the Duel against Maric was on point ;)

The can you beat the game without monster challenge is even better now that someone figured out how to manipulate rng the entire game and the speedrun tactic is to literally win with destiny board first turn every single duel.

If you ever do another one of these on a more modern game, would traps that become monsters like the Paleozoics break your rules? They are technically considered both traps and monsters in the monster zone.

Paleozoics are no longer treated as Traps when they're summoned to the field from the GY. Even ignoring that however his rules were nothing in the Main monster zone, meaning any Trap Monster is probably off the table

Ooh I am loving this! I love the early YGO console games, each one tried to do a different thing. You should really give Duelist of the Roses a try! I guarantee you'll enjoy it.

@@RobinandZephyr since lp is 4000 tremendous fire and other burn cards actually could be used as a legit strat if they can be attained through reincarnation in fact casual peggy does this as an alt win con to protect the toon castle forcing average players into aggro

Sacred Cards is such a cool game. Loved it as a kid.

Been waiting for a chance to tell this story, I was playing Legacy of the Duelist, and facing Bakura's Battle City deck. He had F, I, N and had just gotten A out at the end of my turn using the board's effect. I needed to hit him for more than I'd have in the in the last turn he needed to get the L out through the Destiny board's effect, so I thought I was done. I decided to let it play out instead of resetting so I could see the Destiny board animation, but instead of leaving a back row slot open, so he could use the effect that lets him get the card he needed to win with from his deck, he placed a spell or trap, I honestly can't remember, but he blocked the last piece from being able to come out, giving me enough time to end the duel. I know this isn't really the place for this, but your use of Destiny board just reminded me of that point so hard, I couldn't resist sharing a point of an AI messing the bed.

Fun Fact Destiny Board is actually How The world Record Speedrun for this game is done its a little over 30 minutes

To be fair, there’s Restructer Revolution. However, its damage is dependent on your opponent’s hand and the max potential is 1000, but there’s no way you could max out that damage unless you open three of them in the first turn and you go first. It’s super unrealistic to even have that, so it changes nothing about burn being viable.

This game was my first ygo game. I remember how confusing it was at first, but I loved it!

Any thoughts on doing the same for Reshef of Destruction?

I wonder if the same thing is possible in Reshef. Destiny Board has 500 deck cost, and all the Spirit Messages have 999. Harpie's Feather Duster also runs rampant.

Huh. I think I... HAD this game as a kid. I just didn't remember until seeing it right here. Prooooobably because I never got past the first duel. Yea, I was really bad at YGO. I'm not sure I actually knew how to play in the first place at that point. I only played for a little while when I was younger and never actually won a game. RIP.

@@RobinandZephyr still not as bad as Forbidden memories where the AI has a 36 card hand at all times and will always play a higher attack monster even if you play facedown. still i noticed your editor note around the time you asked that question but because the seeker bar has to obscure the bottom border of the player i didnt notice it at first until after commenting.

Honestly never understood why Marik had Odion impersonate him. They didn't DQ Odion, nor really do anything differently to begin with anyway.

Can you do something similar with rescheff of destruction?

Sacred Cards is a super fun game~

I’m currently doing a run of this myself, and it’s been fun, if not stressful at times. I’ve only lost like five times. And I accidentally killed my win con and had to deck out Rex Raptor at the last minute. Funny enough, I have not used Spellbinding Circle or Shadow Spell, mainly because I forgot about them. But hey, I’ve been managing just fine drawing 30+ cards on average per duel, making each duel take… 5 minutes at a time.

@@RobinandZephyr sad thing is… I’ve had to break it up into multiple sessions because of the tedious amount of time per duel. That plus life equals slow progression. I’m just now adding Swords of Revealing Light to my deck and about to duel Weevil’s crew. So yay, the cheater needs to be taught how to spell DEATH.

@@RobinandZephyr okay, I finished up and I learned something. Atem has Master of Dragon Soldier in his deck. I never knew that before this run. It’s his second best card! If he and Kaiba weren’t known for bricking in this game, I probably wouldn’t have even known he had it. I got him to the point of bricking so bad, he was discarding from his hand just to draw a card. I also lost to Strings and Marik the first time. Also, the option dual with the guy obsessed with Mai, I never paid attention to his deck and found out in this run he runs a straight Warrior deck with M-Warriors and the Battleguards! This was fun! I learned so much in this run!

My personal favorite is Yugioh Worldwide: Stairway to the Destined Duel. It's faithful to the card game, while still being fairly challenging!

I wonder if it's possible to beat reshef of destruction with this ruleset?

For a moment I thought you were going to play sparks on totally mark ishtar to win that first duel.

If ra takes the use down to 1, why not just add a sparks to your deck and win that way?

Ra reduces the user's LP to 1 and makes the opponent take the same amount of damage. If you are at a Life Point disadvantage when Ra hits the field, it's a loss. I have never seen the opponent go for Ra's ability while THEY were at a Life Point disadvantage, so my assumption is that their AI is smart enough to realize that's not a smart move.

Restructer Revolution would theoretically get us the burn we needed, as it could deal a max of 1000 damage. However, the AI in this game wants to play cards, so will almost always set traps or monsters if it can. And if it can’t, it’ll usually start discarding for more cards. As such, the odds that Restructer would actually deal the full 1000 damage is basically nil, aside of the first turn. Assumed to be 800 per use and added to our total, it would add 2400 damage, putting a burn strategy at 7950 LP’s worth of burn.

Huh, I have the cartridge around here, just need to see if I have a...my DS can't use gba games... crud....

why is destiny board even in the game, its so much easier to beat down the opponents 1k attack monsters than stalling for 40 turns 😂
