    I find it funny how this challenge make it seem like an actual bunch of underdogs got as many molotovs as they could, went soft postal and killed a god. All while keeping enough lucidity to hold the 9 to 5 fishing/hunting gig to finance it all. The financing part make it seem so grounded and that almost any character of the world could do it. Great video as always!

    This is my favorite game of all time. I’ve been gaming since I was 4 in ‘86 and I still to this day play this game 100% thru at least 5 times a year. Few games, if any, now just don’t capture that same feeling of wonder and mystery. I loved the camping aspect and fishing. The fairy village mechanic had so much depth to it! It really mattered who you put doing what and it was an awesome feeling when you got the pimp mansion from expanding it all the time. Thanks for all your content. Stay lifted and gifted brother!!!

    @@JustAnotherMatt420 "...and my Tech!" Er, tech support... "joke". heh. Y'know, Breath of Fire III must have been a major "make me want to make games" game for me. Hah at the time I did want even more. I saw how much a CD could hold, how much the game data really used up, and naively thought "Why didn't they keep making the game until it filled up the CD? I'd play that much of this." assuming games' (game-ses?) main constraint was size alone. I want to make it. But idk what I love most and what to focus on. That music genre(fusion... jazz? Idk, I also like The Sims 1 music, and Saint Row showing me that "ezzz" channel with such unique older songs). That fairy village, fishing, or every other repeatable activity or system. Ugh, the systems in general!(Side note, check out Rogue Galaxy for cool systems and such). I love the less-useful and unconventional skills and spells. More, mooore. I'd make a game about any slice of BoF3! We shall see.

    It's nice to stumble on a funny little run like this. I'm getting some powerful BoF3 nostalgia. Your patience is commendable. I've done some funny runs (Mage Ryu absolutely slaps) but I don't think I'd have it in me for something this nuts.

  • @Caspicum

    Funnily enough, mage Ryu actually prompted the entire concept of 'items only'. I found that toward the end of the game, I didn't have much in the way of powerful magicks, so I took to using Devilfish for Myollnir and worked backwards from there.

  • @McFatson

    @McFatson

    Ohh, I never thought of it that way. I tended to just use the magic enhancing dragon forms. Since he was going mage build, he had AP for days and could actually sustain it for a while. Even funner when the Elder tried block dragon forms like it was a big deal, so I just dropped nukes on him. ...it helps when Nina was studying under fighty masters so Ryu got to hog all the good spells. She actually hit kinda hard by the end.

  • @Caspicum

    @Caspicum

    I felt bad doing a magic Ryu run and using dragons, so I opted to stay away from them, but it's interesting how you also found items because of the dragon-block fight. I absolutely stuck NIna with melee dudes as well. Everyone got a build-flip, and Garr was completely useless come end-game, but Rei was passable. Legit, Nina hit harder than Garr. What a great game.

    Thanks for this. Any modern content that brings up BoF3 makes me so happy. It's easily one of my favourite games. I know that's partly nostalgia, I was so hyped for this to come out, reading stuff in magazines about it and telling my parents I absolutely needed this, but it didn't disappoint. Makes me sound like such a dinosaur now, but at the time it was unprecedented. If you liked JRPGs at the time this came out, it turned your world upside down. No one was doing this kinda thing back then. It was perfect. But yeah I always had a ton of items I never touched XD

    I'm far from done with Breath of Fire 3, it's legit one of the best JRPGs ever made and it barely gets the appreciation it deserves. For real, nobody was doing this kind of thing, and I'd argue nobody ever did, at least not to the degree of Breath of Fire 3, and 4 to a lesser extent. Absolute master class in a distinguished JRPG that broke itself from its Dragon Quest/Final Fantasy trappings.

I am a recent subscriber and I watched almost all your videos from Digimon to breath of fire to game reviews almost everything and I have to say that you are the only person with an amazing and a good taste when it comes to games like not joking at all but almost all the games that you played I did too and I enjoyed every single second of them. I really love your work and honestly I think that you are an underrated youtuber no offense of course what I am saying is that I really want to see the day were you reach a huge number of subscribers and achieve all your goals and dreams I really love your work the simplicity of letting a viewer understand a game that he or she has never seen before and bringing the nostalgia back that's really something I love. Also I know I have talked a lot and I am sure that you will get bored from my comment but I have something I have to say about breath of fire 3. Like what if Myria takes the unconscious Ryu after he gets defeated by balio and sunder and place him in "Eden" and Teepo and Rei wake up staying together and continue the game with Teepo as the main protagonist. Of course the game continues normally with getting everyone to the party but the true final Boss becomes Ryu instead of Myria, I really wish that this becomes a new maybe fan made Breath of fire 3 I really really wish that maybe just maybe we can have that, but I know it won't happen but if by chance you read this comment Mr. Casp I really would love if you tell me your opinion about this. Sorry for talking a lot and ik I am annoying but I would like to end this huge comment with an even bigger thank you for this beautiful video and I look forward for any new video you make in the future doing these videos take a lot of time and consistent work I love your work and I wish you the best of luck

    I'm still struggling between 3 and 4. I think 3 is about as close to perfection as you can get in a JRPG, but 4 is special. It takes itself a lot more seriously from the get-go, and the characters develop more as a result. In terms of gameplay, 3 destroys 4. 4 is "attack to win" where 3 is "attack to win about half the time."

    Oh man, black wing Nina is something else. But also the adult Nina in 3 is crazy. Definitely one of the lesser-used characters, and I don't blame people. Between Garr, Rei, and Peco, character-design wise I get it. Momo's super versatile too with her support and attack magicks, and pretty even stats. Those bazooka shots do damage for days as well. Nina stops learning magic at level 15 or something, and doesn't get her next spell till 27. Absolutely neglected character.

    I'd say 90% of it was just buying items and moving forward. The major choke points in the game were getting captured by Balio and Sunder the second time, the time skip, as I couldn't buy items until I beat the zombie dragon, and then any time I hit a brick wall with a boss, which was really only the McNeil gauntlet, the Arena, and then smaller brick walls for Chimera and Stallion, the harder bosses. Everything else just kinda fell in to place, same with the Dragoon run.
