Hello Friendshaped creator person, I really like your video. Inkerton is my fav character of the game. I just came here to tell you that magistas weapon is a tea egg :) Voltais last gadget is a wifi router. The old ocean is a bleached coral reef. All the trash made the corals die which also infects nearby creatures. (See galarian corason and its evolution) sadly there are too many coral reefs that start bleaching, which is caused by trash but also global warming, as Corals are very fragile and sensitive to environmental changes.

i think the weapon for the first boss is a tea strainer ball. its for using loose leaf tea like u would a tea bag

Ya, I noticed this immediately. I mean, there are tea cup shells around the arena. But I’ve seen more videos where the creator doesn’t know. Perhaps it’s just because tea is so unpopular in the us.

I've never seen one before, I don't know anyone who owns one lol. My partner even loves tea, but she usually doesn't brew it herself, and if she does it's with pre-made packs

You can also remove a shell if you hold down y/triangle

I think the developers made Inkerton after Gehrman from Bloodbourne, with his popper modeled after the hunter blunderbuss and crab cracker being his scythe. A neat detail that i saw and a nice callback to some of the great fights that Fromsoft has made.

I like to think of the moon presence ending where you turn into a squid like thing and in this game he went back into his natural roots just hunting

Royal Wave is secretly the best Adaptation, you can use it to interrupt grabs. So the Gum Hammer Crabs and the Angler Frog Fish's grabs can be stopped with it. On my second playthrough I never took it off

Honestly, how can you be a gamer and not hate capitalism? Most old games were absolutely rife with political commentary and most that I remembered were not too kind to our overlords. Anyone who supports capitalism or benefits from it are exclusively writen as greedy pigs or shady, galaxy spanning mega corporations. Most often the reason bad shit happened is because corp x was trying to make more money or do shaddy experiments with people. And then if you step out of the games the entire industry is filled with cramming and overworked programers/producers and any time the business finds a model that makes more money than actually having to produce a good game they take that short cut. Easy examples include abundant dlcs, releasing games before letting them be bug tested, and micro transactions.

I'm nearing the end of my own shellless challenge, which used a total of 4 shells, which i can turn down to 2 with what i know now. 2 were fuses (which i didnt know you could put on a fork), one was for the moon snail cave tutorial and one singular use of a spring for the very first magnet, all the rest are skippable. To skip the first fuse (and others) i used a method that i call chargeboosting but idk what the community calls it. Its basically when you do a strong attack with regular fork (no shell attached) and right before the hit goes trough you jump, stealing the momentum from the charged attack to boost you forwards long distances. With that i went around the first gate, and after the spring magnet was used i boosted to the section that brings you to the roof in front of the boss, using a final fuse to make the platforms move and get to the boss. So this area can be done with only ever wearing the spring for one magnet and thats it

Pagurus honestly should've been an optional boss and should've been way harder. He's scary the first encounter but once you're actually forced to fight the guy you realize he's like every other boss and you can easily kill him.

First off, great video! Super fun to watch and very interesting to see how somebody else progressed throughout the game besides me. But I would just like to make my own statement about Firth’s fight and why I personally really enjoyed it. I believe that Firth was a great boss fight, possible my favorite in the game, and is well designed. He’s a boss that’s supposed to play and fight like player, in this case Krill, using really fast attacks and even some of Krill’s mutations against him. To me personally, it makes complete sense why he would have such a fast 4 string attack because that’s what Krill can do! I didn’t find it too challenging to play around and avoid but maybe that’s because I might’ve been a more passive player than you. I haven’t ever played a soulslike before and this was a very welcoming first entree for me in the genre. I also wasn’t crazy leveled when I fought Firth and was maybe slightly above what felt intended at the time. I was able to beat Firth on my first attempt, and was very glad with the fight as a whole, coming back to it multiple times after completion just because of how enjoying it felt. It’s supposed to be a hard fight and he’s a god with the Whorl so I think having one string being hard to block or react was fine. You seem to go for a lot of charge attacks and mention trying the fight dragging on way to long because of that 4 string, but I think that if you just played a bit more neutral and didn’t always try to riposte then it would’ve been much easier. Also I don’t think any of his other attacks are crazy broken, the garbage sword is good but some well timed horizontal dodges make it quite easy to avoid and close the gap. I really don’t think that the final fight sucks, but that’s just my opinion. Anyway, I’m not trying to argue or be mean in any way, I’m just trying to express my opinion on that last fight and why I personally believe it’s not terrible. Again, sorry if this came off as aggravated or mean, completely not the intention of my comment.

The king crab boss, didnt even know he had any ranged attacks. i were dissapointed cuz i thought he were a final boss sort off, and died so easly

for info! the button to grab a shell can be used to dismiss the currently equipped shell! just gotta press and hold (with no other promps around) Saying it following tenis ball section of the video. I ended up using this strat whenever i wanted to force an insurance shell respawn. niche, but useful!

The weapon the Duchess uses is a metal tea infuser.

you could have beat the magic crab without a shell if you knew the movement glitch. The movement glitch is when you charge up a strong attack but cancel it out with a jump.

ive been doing practically this for a bit now, i just did it before watching anyone play through the game this way and without using them IN COMBAT so i could just ignore a misclick where i put on a crab husk before fighting topoda in my second noshell playthrough (lmao), because history will not remember little jimmy doing a challenge run without skips he didnt know about and didnt care to research or discover

I decided to redo the firth boss fight cuz it was WAYYYY top eay with adaptations and a shell, so i did the smart thing and limited myself to no shell and no adaptations. It took me like an hour and a half to 2 hrs to actually do it 😭. so im just here to tell yall that IT IS POSSIBLE TO BEAT THE GAME NO SHELL/NO ADAPTATIONS. If firth was possible, the rest of the game is. And it so hard to parry with no shell cuz you actually get a soft limit to how fast you can "block", making everything so much harder

Didn't watch full video yet, HOWEVER i noticed you said you had no use for stowaways- which is mostly true, but the Another Crab stowaway does NOT need a shell to activate, and can give you a revive if you die.

omg we had completely opposite experiences with adaptations! i used the tentacle more than anything and never really used the bobbit trap. i came away from the game feeling like the tentacle was op! 😆 i will say, i think the latter half of the game was a lot easier than the first half. i chose to put my points into each stat evenly and didn’t die to a single boss from voltai onwards. shells are pretty OP which is strange cuz it seems like they built the game around them. but i was able to go into every boss fight and just spam attack with lvl 3 tentacle active and win.

So by technicality you cant finish the game without a shell because of tutorials

if you play on a xbox controler then you can get rid of your shell by holding Y (idk the control for keyboard tho)

My final boss fight with firth got ruined. At the start when he said attack me i used the electric abiblity and it bugged him. So doing the whole first face he could not attack me. like perma immunity frames. just 100% today

48:11 Fun fact: you can parry the soap bubbles! They fly back and damage enemies. I wonder how many other projectiles you can parry, I haven’t done any testing myself.

I'm pretty sure you can parry most projectiles, if not all of them. The bubbles were one I never tried because I figured they'd pop lol

damn this video made me realize i’m not even out of the tutorial section and i’ve spent like 3-4 hours on this shit already….. shit

Tentacles adaptation got me through, it has a large AOE and does multiple hits.. bosses were easier

Besides getting it after every other boss, I think the main reason I didn't use it was saving my umami charges for the bobbit trap lol.

Dark souls happened to really take off, and I stuck with similar games lol. Crab game is very good, but I'm positive my opinion on the game is very different than it would be if I did a casual first playthrough
