I still remember when I was little getting up and turning the B&W TV on, then going to get some cereal because by that time the TV would be warmed up and ready to watch. Of course it was huge 19 inch TV. Just sucked having to go up to the TV and turning the dial to the channel and then the middle knob of the dial to get rid of the static, which was usually the reason I sat close to the TV so I could change the channel easier. What a wonderful world it was in 1978. A still remember going to check out color TV's with my dad that same year and a 19 inch color TV was $599 which was three times as much as a B&W. That is the same as $2400 now and that was a low end color TV.

The lens I asume will be just the monitor, the display. There must be a computer operating and sending the signals to it and then I guess you could install a camera some other place in your head or somewhere. Anyway, this tech, it seems to me like video showing something juiciy for the public but not realistic as they show it. I don't know. I didn't check out the vericity of it myself. But for me it's just a video people would like to watch but not reliable at all.

It only comes out for 12 hours a week to be sanitized and has been doing so since 1 month old. My wife wears contacts that she only has to take out and replace once every 30 days.. we have the technology now to make them safe for sleeping and long term use. They may cost more but they are widely available. I mean in the 90s people use to get contacts literally welded to they're eyes if they stared at a screen for more than a few hours. I know at one point they where not as safe as they are today, as for most things we consumers buy and use every day... except food and man made drugs! They're all shit and chemically designed to slowly kill us off!

Even if this bionic lens don't get the screen thing, atleast it got a micro camera! An implant with camera and microphone is really revolutionary thing! With access to constant wifi connection, people can literally capture "visual and auditory memory" right in their phone. If widely accepted by people and worn everytime like a body cam, lens implant can be extremely helpful to those, suffering from Alzheimer, dimentia, memory loss due to physical trauma etc. Even Crime solving will be lot easier. Not able to remember what happened exactly at 5 pm , 5 years back from today? Just pull out recordings from the drive !

How would they make it focus correctly is my question. The human I can focus on a windshield whipper and in a split second focus on a street sign a block away. To keep the image in focus will take leaps in technology.

First do, Colour signals of trano contact lens, it looks like the attractive to person who is looking from front of lens, same time behind colour signals put black signals, it should work like dark background and at the same time realtime internet appears in day time. It will work

How about just having that computer you're carrying send the information straight to the optical centers of your brain? Then you don't have to worry about pixels, focal length, or anything sitting on your eyeball. I suspect that's pretty much what Elon Musk's 'neural lace' is going to do, so these contacts may be obsolete before they're even perfected.

There is the visual cortex, but no single Optical center..rather different aspects of vision are processed by different areas..there are areas dedicated to recognizing edges, diagnals, then Faces, colors etc. You can send digital data to the optic nerve though,

This lens would work better if instead of sending pixels to the lens the lens send data back to the phone like a recording device. The second option would be for one lens to send data and one lens to receive data from your smart phone . The an integration with a smart phone is key
