    @@rush1041 not against humans - with humans it gets crushing advantage so early that it would never go for draw ;) But it will go for draw always when it has disadvantage.

    @@shivamsrivastava6312 It literally will always go for a draw if every other option is a disadvantageous position. It's not programmed to understand that its opponent is the dumbest piece of garbage in the universe, it's programmed to play solid positional chess with maximum tactical insight and such chess will lead to draws very often. If it had found a forced repetition before the final move that was mate in 1, it 100% would've taken it.

    Martin is a bot designed to lose. He's goal in any winning position is to find the losing move. Thats's his story, he is playing with his kids and he wants to let them win. So in his way, him finding a way to lose this is pretty impressive and a win for him.

    Martin actually doesn't grab the pawn 95% of the time. Try the position yourself and just run your pawn forward. he will never capture it

    The benefit to being a human is being able to observe your opponent’s weaknesses. Martin is basically incapable of capturing pieces unless it’s like check or mate in 1, but stockfish doesn’t know that so it left its queen trapped in the corner even though as a human we know if we just took the pawn on the h file or smth there’s a pretty good chance Martin lets it go

    Got to love Stockfish complimenting its own moves the entire game. Also despite allowing the pawn to promote, Martin actually held up pretty well, which made the game intense to watch. It really just came down to one fatal mistake.

    I usually play chess with my younger cousins with Martin because he is designed to blunder. And I was trying to show how to set up an "okay" start, and Martin ended up checkmating me with his queen after only 8 moves by me. I have never felt so attacked. I'm only an 600 ELO so I might have missed a crucial point somewhere.

    For some reason I didn't believe that stockfish would've played h6 since it loses the only thing that it could survive with, but not only did it say h6 was the best move, it said that taking the pawn wasn't even the best move until hxg7. Amazing. Even engines know how to get desperate.
