Can retired PRO POOL player Karl Boyes still play? Or is it all going to go wrong?
Ойын-сауық
#hitthebell #subscribe #poollife
I enter a one day tournament at the Bal-Enzo Billiard club in Belgium to see if I can still compete with the best players that Belgium and the Netherlands have to offer.
I meet some former rivals from back in my playing days. Does this get the juices flowing again? How do I stack up against this tough competition? Can a former pro pool player come out of retirement and still compete.
With the Average Pool Player in my corner, a new Carbon Pool cue from Whyte Carbon and Viking, team Pool Life take on Belgium 🇧🇪 💪
Check out the great club I competed in, Antwerp, Belgium

@@thacasualpoolplaya Hi. First of all, please understand that your comment could be understood two ways, especially that there are people here who have english as their second language. Secondly, just chill, man :) I wanted to admire the level of play exhibited here, not to argue with anyone. Please take this as a positive comment, I am not questioning your statements :) I hope you found this video as entertaining as I did, with a bit of healthy push to improve ourseves. high level compared to random club tournament in all countries. yes.
Club tourneys, or even bar tourneys like that can be a killer. It's difficult to keep one's stamina over 8-10-13 hours, with in many cases having 3-6 hour waits between matches and then having to walk up to the table cold while your opponent has been shooting for an hour coming out of the losers bracket (in a double elimination event). I think the last tourney I played in I won my first 3 matches in the winners side, sat for 2.5 - 3 hours, then discovered I had lost everything... my stroke, my nerve, my feel. It was actually then I knew it was time to stop playing tourneys and just enjoy practice and weekly league nights.

Hey Karl, any videos coming about the mental side of the game. How you coped with pressure during big games. Maybe throw in some footage of shots that you nailed or dogged under pressure in big games and explain what you were feeling and your thought process on the shots you were playing. You did awesome, karl and congrats with 2. place. Now ..what cue are you playing with here? I'm so used to see you shoot with your old and trusted Predator cue with a 314/2 shaft, and is genuinely interested in what your new weapon might be. I remember that you got a new setup from Predator before US Open a few years ago, but this was not that red Sang Lee with a Revo. Shoot em straight and stay safe. Cheers from Denmark. /Chris.

Well, you said it yourself that you quit because tour was in a bad spot, it was depressing etc. Obviously, you would agree that it's in much better shape now and hopefully it will only get better so the question is why don't you play again? Of course it takes a lot of practice and practice but no one can deny your talent. Besides that, you are going to all of the tournaments anyway so you can might as well play, maybe do something like they do in snooker, play until you're in and do the commentary and other things afterwards. Anyway, I doubt you need an advice from a stranger on KZread :D but don't tell that it didn't at least cross your mind couple of times, we all know that love for pool is eternal after you do your first screw back shot!
