    Several huge problems with this....others have mentioned the state of the cloth and also the condition of the rail rubber (and the cloth on the rail as well). The table differences are substantial. Albin's stroke was amazing but also looked very effortless! You two gents are struggling to get any of the action - no fault of yours - it is the table. Finally, if the setup is not exactly the same then the line of the shot will change everything.

    So glad you don't see any of these players doing that goofy stroke stuff. Think it was the cloth or that bumper that kept you from getting it tbh. Some shots def weren't, but lots had the same line and length.

    The key is the rotation of the cueball not the power or speed. In the original shot, the cue ball accelerates into the short rail after contact. (Almost scratches) Clean conditions help for sure, but enough topspin might have overcome this. Great vid!

    Everyone blaming the table but Karl vs average player vs Albin I think stacks up pretty fair. I’m thinking Albin would make that shot again on that table within five attempts. People don’t realize how much better each player is. Karl will smash 95% of players, but there’s a reason he isn’t playing on the tour (which is a huge win for us who love these videos and his commentary).

    @@KarlBoyesPoolLife I doubt you ever played bad. And we all love watching you play now. But you’re a top commentator. I can only think of maybe two others as good as you there. And your channel is the best hands down. I just think that a lot of people don’t realize the huge variance in professional players. I realized this with motorcycle racing. The fastest local racer can’t hang with any professionals and the fastest guy in America (MotoAmerica) might be mid pack in World Superbike. And the fastest in WSBK might be mid pack in MotoGP. So going back to the fastest guy in America who no one can beat her save for maybe a few guys, he doesn’t stand a chance in MotoGP, but he’s still going to blow the rest of us away.

  • @keithkruger7270
    @keithkruger7270Ай бұрын

    I think he's trying to hit it too hard. Albin's stroke looks VERY smooth on the actual shot..he's getting more follow spin than speed. If you try to hit it too hard the cue ball follows the tangent line further and makes a firmer contact on the side rail which slows it down and makes it hit further from the corner on the short rail (making it harder to reverse to come back where you want it to go). If you look at Albin's shot, it just barely brushes the side rail, it curves forward off the tangent line VERY quickly

    The thing about these shots, like an Efren, Melling or Deuel type shot ..... Most players won't attempt them because they are sellouts. Way ahead or way behind, maybe. Most will play safe or cinch the ball and play safe. The Z shot happened because there was NO other option, and Efren is the kick king.
