New cloth and he would have completed this beast of a shot a few times. Keep up the good content

Thank you
i am guessing that had you been playing on a cloth that had been replaced sometime in the past 40 years, you would have done a bit better in recreating the shot?

It was fast table tbf
Those last words about a shape for a good safety and that gesture 😂😂😂 you could see her waiting for her moment earlier in the video and she nailed it!

🤣🤣🤣 she did hahaha
Several huge problems with this....others have mentioned the state of the cloth and also the condition of the rail rubber (and the cloth on the rail as well). The table differences are substantial. Albin's stroke was amazing but also looked very effortless! You two gents are struggling to get any of the action - no fault of yours - it is the table. Finally, if the setup is not exactly the same then the line of the shot will change everything.
if karl liked my comment i will start chalking my cue properly
Ha! You opened with the one shot I thought of first. Corey Deuel next please. (and not his draw shots - he has much more creative ones).
What a great pool hall! Covid killed the best pool hall near me, miss it so much! Looks like you guys had a groupie hanging around a bit. Pretty amazing shot that Alban pulled off...

So glad you don't see any of these players doing that goofy stroke stuff. Think it was the cloth or that bumper that kept you from getting it tbh. Some shots def weren't, but lots had the same line and length.
He said he hopes the battery camera dies! 😂 🔋 🎱 Hey Karl. Your close to NJ in NY. Several areas within an hour of me of pool halls. 🎱 Edison, Eatontown, Howell and Toms River. Would be cool doing a challenge with the players there like you did several weeks ago on your other videos.

Yes hopefully one day get out there
Zion's name is pronounced Z-eye-on like the car Scion lol. Good attempts by both. Shot would def be made easier by tournament table conditions w/ slick cloth slide, fast speed, etc.
What a fun concept! 👍

@@KarlBoyesPoolLife I love it! Would it be too generic to offer Effren’s Z shot as an option? (:
This shot is definitely a lot harder without the new slick cloth and the heat from the TV table lights.....
Karl you gotta teach Average Pool Player to become above average! We don’t want to see him struggle forever!
@KarlBoyesPoolLife

His struggle is fun tho hahaha
Surely some of these would’ve reached had you been playing on a super fast, brand new tournament cloth?

6:31 let’s f*ing goooo!!!
I would imagine the cloth would have a lot to do with that shot...beautiful shot when I mattered though.
Come on Karl, give him some tips on how to get more cue power ! xD
@KarlBoyesPoolLife
5 ай бұрын
Nooooo hahaha
The key is the rotation of the cueball not the power or speed. In the original shot, the cue ball accelerates into the short rail after contact. (Almost scratches) Clean conditions help for sure, but enough topspin might have overcome this. Great vid!

Nice message thanks alot
Great video, don't think I'd fancy my chances of recreating that shot. Did I mishear or did the women at the end tell him to just play a safety 😂

Heard that too LOL!
the greatest pool shot is the z shot done by the goat of billiard. the player also has to much pressure during that time, because if he miss he will lose the game
Looks like an Amsterdam good time.
Nice shot guy's, I'll definitely try this on my table soon but will have to hit it sweet as feck the cushions are half the speed of that one 😂

Good Luck champ
Everyone blaming the table but Karl vs average player vs Albin I think stacks up pretty fair. I’m thinking Albin would make that shot again on that table within five attempts. People don’t realize how much better each player is. Karl will smash 95% of players, but there’s a reason he isn’t playing on the tour (which is a huge win for us who love these videos and his commentary).

@@KarlBoyesPoolLife I doubt you ever played bad. And we all love watching you play now. But you’re a top commentator. I can only think of maybe two others as good as you there. And your channel is the best hands down. I just think that a lot of people don’t realize the huge variance in professional players. I realized this with motorcycle racing. The fastest local racer can’t hang with any professionals and the fastest guy in America (MotoAmerica) might be mid pack in World Superbike. And the fastest in WSBK might be mid pack in MotoGP. So going back to the fastest guy in America who no one can beat her save for maybe a few guys, he doesn’t stand a chance in MotoGP, but he’s still going to blow the rest of us away.
Yep, I agree, new cloth is the ticket
I think Alvin may have been on a slightly faster table since he was in competition.
EX-professional ;)

Shhhh 😂
The tv table is not the same as a table that is often used, the reaction of the ball and the bands. It should be tested in the same conditions as a tv table (new cloth and new balls).
Shot 31 was the best try
I think he's trying to hit it too hard. Albin's stroke looks VERY smooth on the actual shot..he's getting more follow spin than speed. If you try to hit it too hard the cue ball follows the tangent line further and makes a firmer contact on the side rail which slows it down and makes it hit further from the corner on the short rail (making it harder to reverse to come back where you want it to go). If you look at Albin's shot, it just barely brushes the side rail, it curves forward off the tangent line VERY quickly
lol, tough and difficult shot
I think with newer cloth and newer rails the average pool player would have gotten it
Find a newer cloth table for the avg pool players........... This table get more stun than the top spin curve.
Friends don't let friends drink b ud lyte.
Never thought I would be that guy, but if that waitress brought me drinks, I would've potted that in 1 try :D

onboardsportswear.com/POOL-LIFE Thanks!
well first of all, Albin was playing on the new table new cloth, the cue ball obviously moved faster for him. Second, he was using carbon fiber shaft which has less deflection.

Agree
AVG pool player is not pulling back enough to get more power. need to work on stroke
Obviously u won’t get that slide cause club pool table with old cloth , pro tournament new cloth ,
Your stroke is too stiff, loosen you grip and you’ll get far better action.
Dude you must work on your stroke. The tip that the guy gave you was very good. Try at first to pot easy shots but with a good technique
@KarlBoyesPoolLife

Thanks for the tip
It gets boring reading comments about new cloth this and that when in fact he needs a longer level follow-through
@KarlBoyesPoolLife
4 ай бұрын
And the fact I did it 😜
Average player can hit way higher
Albin was using a carbon shaft. I think it generates a bit more power than the wood shaft from my experience. They may be some of the reason it was even more difficult for you all
@josephshackleford1
5 ай бұрын
No cue generates more power. The only thing carbon is better for is less deflection.
Is a stroke shot not power shot. You have to hit it with timing too right. Yes is easy said and done but have to follow through with the stroke
The thing about these shots, like an Efren, Melling or Deuel type shot ..... Most players won't attempt them because they are sellouts. Way ahead or way behind, maybe. Most will play safe or cinch the ball and play safe. The Z shot happened because there was NO other option, and Efren is the kick king.
Impossible on worn cloth..
Probably not reliably reproduceable without new cloth.
