    during my clinical rotation in the ED, there was a PA that worked 3 12hr shifts in the ED making 145k a year and she was PRN at the prison doing 1 shift per week (sometimes more but she tried to limit herself to 1 per week due to her hubby wanting to spend time with her) making 800$ every day she worked there so 3,200 a month, all together she was making over 180,000 a year working 4 days a week. lol She could've easily gone over 200k but she wanted 3 days off every week.

    Hey Adanna! You probably get this a lot, but you've been a huge inspiration to me the last few years and one of the main reasons why I ended up going to PA school! I was just wondering, what are typical specialties you would be able to pick up part-time / PRN shifts at? I'm currently a 1st year PA student, and I kind of like the idea of surgery and family medicine (possibly doing surgery as my full-time job and family med as part-time). But I also haven't started clinical rotations yet, so this could all change lol. Do you think this is possible and sustainable, or what are specialties that typically allow for part-time / PRN work?

    Possible video topic: What are the options when in PA school for health insurance? I’m assuming this is required for all PA schools? What do a lot/most people do for this? I’ll be (hopefully!!) applying to PA school in 2 years and this is something that I was wondering about and seeing if I’ll need to save up money for this 😅

    Hi! I have a question in regards to applying to PA schools, I’m working on my undergraduate right now and I feel very confident in applying to one particular school that’s within my state. I’m planning on working my undergrad, patient care hours and job shadowing around this schools requirements. I’m wondering if this is a risky choice and I’m “putting all my eggs in one basket” with only wanting to be accepted to this one school. How many should I apply to? How many should I be looking at in regards to differing prerequisites? Thank you!!

    from what I've seen, this isn't smart. I watch a lot of pa channels here on KZread as I want to be a pa as well and I've seen people apply to 10-20 schools and only get an interview with 3-5 of them(and that's just an interview, not an acceptance). it's smart to apply to as many as you can because even if you only apply to let's say 5 and dont get it, you need to apply again next year and you're still going to spend about the same amount of money, just over a 2 year period instead of all at once. believe me it's expensive to apply to a bunch at one time, but if I'm going to be honest, personally it's the smarter choice. a lot of people don't even get into pa school their first time applying.

  • @yankasa98

    @yankasa98

    3 жыл бұрын

    Yes it is but make sure your school’s biology major consists of all the prerequisites needed for PA schools. So it all comes down to the schools you want to apply to. RESEARCH the schools you want to attend and then compare their prerequisites to the classes under your biology major and see if you need to take some courses outside your Biology Major but at the end of the day, every major is good for PA so far as you take the prerequisites. I hope that answers your question.
