i used to have an hp stream too in 2020, then i got a lenovo ideapad and having a ryzen 3 3250u despite being an igpu and a bit low end felt MUCH better in everything (including minecraft) than the hp stream, now i have an acer nitro 5 with 8gb of ram, i5 11400h and gtx 1650 and minecraft runs like a dream

Great video man! Your content never disappoints. I do have a few tips to improve upon what you have done in this video. If you want the absolute most frames possible you should install the simply optimized mod pack. It essentially has the same optimizations as lunar client, minus the extra features. To install this I use the MultiMC launcher. I can get about 200 Fps with a slightly higher render distance than the one you used!

Up until earlier this year I had a free laptop from an ewaste bin that only needed a minor repair to get it working again (it overheated from a piece of tape being stuck in the CPU fan) I got about 40-50fps on bedrock with Windows 10 installed. Was a 2012 Toshiba Satellite with an i7-2760QM, 8GB RAM, Intel HD Graphics 3000 and a 256GB Silicon Power SSD i bought for about $25

On these kinds of pcs, the GPU is the bottleneck, and since sodium mostly uses the GPU for its performance boost, optifine is better in this case

this is huge.. i have a acer aio that used to run at max settings at 60 fps (in the 1.16-1.17days) and now it doesn't even run with the lowest settings

Just wait until you see how much of a difference an SSD makes (those are very cheap)

Do you happen to have any tips on running minecraft java on a chrome book?

That's the laptop that i use everyday. It is really slow but you still can do basic things or low end games on it

Honestly if you upgrade some of the parts it may run alot smoother. I have a dell optiplex from 2014 that ive upgraded with 16gb of ram. 960gb ssd. And while not possible on any laptop models. Even put a gt1030 in for good measure. And its pretty solid for a good retro pc. And yes. It runs minecraft. Very well. Both bedrock and java.

The 100% Disk means that the hard drive of the laptop is at 100% usage that means it's being overloaded with data loading from it. Upgrade to an SSD and you got a very decent pc

mine is about the same and runs mc 1.17 with 150 fps full setting in normal world

it takes a med high end gaming laptop to run Minecraft Java with Iris + Sildur's Shaders at 60fps with no issue (but then again I have it limited to 60fps since I don't really see why to have more)

I have it at around 144 fps but it uses near 100 percent gpu usage lmao

My main old computer specs: MacBook Pro 16” 2016, 16GB RAM, 256GB SSD, Intel Core i7 (idk what gen) and built in Intel HD graphics, it’s ok for everyday use, but when I try to do something crazy like code an OS or like Zach run MineCraft at 1K FPS - then 16GB RAM and Intel HD graphics are not enough😅

Still better than my 4gb ram i5 6th jeneration hp from 2009 Yes it is my daily driver and i hate it

The opengl error may have been due to hardware. I don't know what shader you used, but it may have used an opengl version newer than what the iGPU supports.

I think you're on to something! That sounds about right!

this laptop is actually a lot better than you think it is, the reason why its so slow is because of your windows version, i'd install a custom version of windows like kernel os, atlas os, ggos, revios, or even windows 7, (dont forget the drivers) and that pc would be much better than what its letting on. if you want it to be REALLY fast than install linux instead.

If it has a dual core CPU that runs at least at 1.2ghz, an iGPU with at least 200 Gflops and 2gb ram it can run it well lol. Gotta love how optimized LWJGL is.
