I try woodturning a resin sphere in a wooden yew tree cube!
I have had this idea ever since I made my globe in a cube and I'm glad I got around to doing it!

Normally, people will soak the cube and then press the sphere in while the wood is flexible, but where's the fun in doing things the easy way? :P

But but but... He got an almost perfect sphere BEFORE sanding it. These are insane skills.
I've always seen lathes sped up in fast forward, but never in slow-mo. Excellent work!

this is genuinely the coolest thing I have seen someone make out of resin and a tree
I saw this done in metal. It was a bit different, they start with a solid cube. This always impressed the hell out of me. I've been waiting to see a wood turner do it. Great job.

I have one of them on my bench that I've made a few years ago from wood on the lathe, I forget now how I even did it lol

I watch several creative wood turning craftsmen on KZread, but I get annoyed with so many of them trying to be goofy, stupid hokey jokes, unbearable synth music, unimaginative projects, wacky ideas that turn our horrible, or just copying each other's ideas.. then I found your channel. Brilliant concepts without the goofy banter and noise music. Love it. Thank you

Great job on using the resin for the sphere. Have seen wood in wood, but this is much better looking with the contrast. Have been wanting to try this, the speciality tool is holding me back. Would be great if you would just post a PDF attachment of the tool profile that was used to grind one. Great Job all in all.

OMG, I seriously thought that you would turn the block first, then wet the wood so you could pull the thin sides apart to allow a marble or ball in, then once it dries and returns to normal shape it would be stuck in there. Really awesome, thanks for the vid.
